So far I love Banfield. The puppy program for vaccines is so affordable, and when our puppy had diarrhea, they did not have a appointment available until 2 days from now,. As a concerned pet owner, I asked what to do and Amber was very helpful telling me what medication/vaccines our dog got and was due for, and what to do to help with his upset tummy. Find another place to to your pets!!!! I have had the wellness plan for years with all my dogs. Wake forest is the third Banfield I have used due to moving. This one is by FAR the worst. I took my Beagle in to have a couple masses removed, First they took a small one and left the one that was the most concerning. today I drive over an hour to have the stitches removed and they forgot one of the incisions and left the stitches in after I specifically ask did they do both of them. The Banfield wellness program is great but I wont be back to the Wake Forest Banfield. Read Less

This place is just terrible. Its a run around contest with these people it seems. No one is really that polite when you start asking questions as to why you never have refills with them? Even after getting blood work done. They never have any medication in stock. We were told to visit other places just to get the medicine for our dog. Never tried to transfer our medicine or order it. Wonderful experience! My dog has always gone to the Banfield in Cary but we have relocated to Wake Forest. I wanted to transfer her to this location but did not think her first visit there would be an emergency/sick visit. They were so wonderful and the customer service was amazing! They made me feel so much more relaxed in a time of uneasiness. They were extremely patient with the many questions I had about my dogs diagnosis of a long term illness and what we needed to do to treat it. I was considering canceling my plan at the renewal time and transferring to a different vet but I will be sticking with them instead! Read Less

The folks at Banfield in WF are spectacular. I have always had an excellent experience and I have been there many times. The Wellness Plan pays for itself in no time and is well worth it. Moved here from Georgia and the Banfield over there gladly price matched mail order prescriptions. This one will not and insists on keeping prices at list as opposed to giving consumers a break to benefit the pet. Reading many other comments from customers, it seems that many Banfield locations will price match, but not this one.Read Less

I rejoiced the day our Wellness Plan ended. We took our two dogs to multiple Banfield locations during our Wellness Plan, mostly to the Wake Forest location since it was more convenient to our house. Due to consistent bad experiences, we resorted to other nearby locations (Knightdale & Raleigh). It doesn't matter which location you take your pet, they're all the same - HORRIBLE! We even tried to cancel our plan, but were informed by corporate that they would send it to collections if we failed to pay until the end of our plan. If we didn't care about our credit so much, I would have let it go, but unfortunately they bend you over and screw you. As other reviewers have mentioned, Banfield is obsessed about the money and the add ons. They will try to sell you on things that are supposedly "wrong" with your pet that aren't really wrong. One of our dogs was prone to ear infections due to his floppy ears, while the other never showed ANY symptoms of an ear infection. We took the "healthy" eared dog in once and the Dr. told us they took a swab test and her ears had some fungi and they would need to prescribe us a medication to take care of it. I told her that she never scratches her ears or shakes her head, and it was unusual she found something wrong. Being the caring and loving pet owner that I am, I was worried that she may develop an ear infection, so I purchased the prescription. Our girl NEVER developed an ear infection. Instead of wasting the prescription, we used it on our other dog who was prone to ear infections. Take that Banfield! That was just one occurrence. ... . I could go on and on... The front staff was usually friendly, but it was always very BUSY, and seemed like they were understaffed at the front. Every time we made an APPOINTMENT, which you would think, you would be seen on time, we ended up waiting to be seen for 15-20 minutes, and even sometimes it would take 15 minutes to CHECK IN at the front desk. The doctors or staff never seemed to remember our pets, even though we were seen often since we had two puppies with different vaccination schedules. Another reviewer also mentioned being charged $20 for Benadryl pre-vaccinations, yep, that happened to us too. However, on another occasion they decided since our baby girl did end up being slightly allergic to the lypo-something vaccine that they would administer an IV and give her Benadryl through that. No one called us to ask us for permission, instead when we picked her up, they informed us that they had to insert an IV and it cost $100 to do that. Needless to say, we disputed that charge and walked out. If my review hasn't helped open your eyes to how this place operates, then I don't know what else to say. Please don't take your pet here. The money you think you're saving isn't worth it. Go somewhere where vets care about the animals they treat and aren't trying to swindle you.Read Less

If you consider your pet a part of the family, go to a real vet. If you don't care, give them a try. You could get lucky and get a good vet at this place. I've heard one person say a vet at another location saved the paw of their dog instead of amputating, they cut out some cancer. But my experience and several others i have talked to, plus tons of reviews online, indicate this is mostly a money making enterprise with inexperienced vets at many facilities. My dog suffered with extreme pain due to dental health because they didn't tell us how bad it was or that we had any options. At a real vet, they did the dental cleaning, pulled teeth, and our baby is happy and living a quality life again. Shame on those people at Banfield for pretending to be veterinarians!!!Read Less

Don't bother with this place. My first experience with them was a phone call. I was specifically told something on the phone that turned out to be untrue. The people working there obviously don't know what they are talking about. I found this out the hard way a day later and after a considerable amount of inconvenience. The response for my inconvenience was not how sorry they were, but just we are right and you are wrong. Don't waste your time here. These people don't care about you or your pets!Read Less

The staff at Banfield in WF are genuine and caring souls. They really care about every pet that scampers through the doors. The doctors are knowledgeable, patient, and informative. They have gone out of their way to help us over the years. We have two dogs that have to go in for a monthly gland cleaning and these guys are more than happy to see us every time we come in. I bring all my dogs to Banfield in Wake Forest! I started with the puppy in May and when I realized what great care (and great price) they provided I transferred my 3 older dogs! In the past I would try to home treat my older dogs, because the typical vet visit bill would top the $250 mark - it did not matter how sick the dog was or how routine the visit! Banfield is a corporate pet farm of an animal hospital. To be fair they seem heavily overworked but I suppose that's because they don't turn down business. My experience with this place was less than stellar. I can't say my dog was mistreated although he did come home from an overnight stay with a small cut over his eye, no one could or would explain that. But my real complaint is with the staff overall. The girl at the reception desk screwed up my appointments not one but three times! I show up with my dog and with a sheepish smile informs me my appointment was this morning or it's the wrong day or she forgot to put me in. Plus she undercharged me on the bill even when I insisted she was making an accounting error. Sure enough, the vet himself called to assure me the bill had been corrected and when I told him the girl made a mistake he commented that it must of been something I overlooked....huh?
