We had the same issue as the previous comment and sent a formal request to take us off the mailing list.  They keep sending auto-generated solicitations and checkup reminders for our dog who passed almost year ago.  I, along with many others, feel this is extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional since we've never been to that practice and they likely obtained those records from the previous vet in that space without our permission or authorization.  Hopefully they have moved past this shady business practice and quality service will supercede the perceived reputation.  Definitely a big red flag and would move on... They don't call back.  I got a postcard saying that according to their records, my dog was due for a checkup.  When I asked how could they have my records because I'd never been there, I found out they were using the records from Heritage Animal Hospital.   When I asked if I could get a copy of the records, they said they couldn't because the records belonged to Heritage Animal Hospital.  Told I'd get a call back from the manager to discuss it and I'm still waiting.  Something doesn't add up. THEY KILLED MY CAT! Seriously! My first NC vet experience. I am a recent NY transplant. I HAD a 13 year old cat that I bought in for a routine exam. They did X-rays...the whole nine. The vet indicated that he would need his teeth cleaned and that his gums were slightly inflamed, causing him to drool. I had his teeth cleaned about three years back and the NY vet that did that cleaning felt that he would not have to have his teeth cleaned again b/c he was not a young cat and the risk of putting him under outweighed the potential benefit. I told the Heritage vet about the conversation I had with my NY vet and my further concern about putting him under b/c of his age. She assured me that x-rays of his heart showed that he had a strong heart, but just to be sure would have their radiologist take a look since they are able to read the x-rays more effectively. We made an appointment for the teeth cleaning two weeks from that visit. I think it is important to note that my cat showed NO signs of discomfort at all from his teeth being dirty. So we bought him in and were told we can pick up at the end of the day. I got a very nervous sounding call a few hours later telling us to come right in. During the procedure, my cat's heart went into extreme distress. The vet takes me in the back to show me the same x-rays she previously showed but now pointing to areas saying there is thickening hear and there. I asked if the radiologists saw this and she said the radiologist NEVER looked at the x-rays. I said 'why not?!'. She said 'I forgot. Sorry'. When my cat woke from the operation, he was a vegetable and could hardly breathe. She did not know what to do and told us to take him to the emergency vet clinic. The emergency vet clinic indicated that he must have had a stroke during the operation and the breathing was a result of the anesthetia and would not go away. They said based on the x-rays, that it was clear as day that he should not have been put under. They also said his teeth did not need to be cleaned at all. Unfortunately, we had to put him down. DO NOT USE THIS VET! SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING! Read Less
