Not happy with the care. My boxer, Laila unfortunately swallowed another object. This time it was a bone, according to Dr Darch at the North Wake animal clinic in Wake Forest, an irregular shape about 3 inches long. He removed it manually from her anus. Before she went to Dr Darch, I took her to Wake Forest Animal Hospital expecting to see Dr Manning, however, was passed over to Dr Bennett, because he was conferring with a vendor. I got over that, because she was being seen by a professional regardless. They x-rayed Laila only to have an inconclusive finding! They suggested she get a barium swallow to highlight any objects in the intestines-another $300! Then blood tests should have revealed a possibility of Addisons' disease, only they didn't test for it and I would have to pay another $100 or so. This requires another blood test of some sort. Then she could be put on steroids, just in case, it was a hormonal issue. Another $100 or less...I just didn't feel right with this vet. The receptionists were pretty nice and professional. They took her in immediately, but I was disappointed with the lack of knowledge on the vets behalf. I'm still wondering how the huge bone in her intestines could have been overlooked after the x-ray?? Fishy. The remaining care handled by Dr Darch with pills, blood tests, bone removal, shots, after care for about 3-4 days (he called)-total cost = $156. Read Less
