Everyone there was so great! They were all super friendly and caring! I absolutely loved that they allowed us to bring our other dog in, cause they NEED each other. Even though our other dog was way too excited to help keep our dog calm the doctors knew exactly how to handle him. They didn't do any unnecessary test to find out what was going on with him, which was something that I’ve experienced in the past with other vet offices. My cat Patches had a very bad broke leg near the shoulder. I took Patches in February to Neuse River Vet. Xrays were taken and I was told a surgeon would be shown the xrays. I called Neuse River back a couple days later and told them I was concern cause I hadn't heard anything. Dr Connie talked to me on the phone and told me that she could splint the leg for me. I was willing to try that. My cat's leg was so bad, it may have had to be amputated. My cat wore a splint for 6 weeks and it is healed. The staff was great at Neuse River and so is Dr Connie. Thank God for healing my cat and for Dr Connie. Read Less

Excellent care with costing an arm and a leg. I wanted to add more to this besides the care and cost - my beloved jerk of a cat has developed some pretty major health issues and Dr Connie has been wonderfully helpful and supportive in her recommendations and advice in his long term care. Having a diabetic cat is difficult enough, having a Dr and her staff that will answer all your questions and are more interested in helping your pet then selling you something you might not need it a HUGE plus in my book. The doctors and staff are beyond caring. Sounds trite but it’s true. They took as good care of my husband and I through getting Kali well as they did her. She isn’t out of the woods yet and we will be back in on Monday but so grateful for all the work they did for her and the weekend at home we get to share with her. Dr. Bob Meyer and his wife are extraordinary people. We recently had a pre-purchase exam and radiographs done on a gelding we were interested in purchasing. Dr. Meyer was extremely thorough, taking the time to explain each area of the exam in great detail. From the first phone call to the loading up of our new reining gelding, we could not have had a better experience. Oh, and by the way the exam was on Labor Day! Thank you so much for everything! I do not have horses, but I had a white german shep. named Sammy and Dr. Jim was a Godsend to him with acupuncture. He developed hip issues when he was 5 years old. Dr. Jim worked on him and he came home wanting to play ball. I took him in for a "tune up" once a year and he lived to be almost 14.5 yrs. thanks to Dr. Jim's care. Absolutely love Dr. Jim and Neuse River Equine Hospital. If your animal has hip issues, for goodness sake, get him to Neuse River Equine, you will be glad you did. Read Less

In addition, they also accommodate any needs you might have, they'll inform you of all tests performed and medications given, and take the time to educate you about your animal's health and wellbeing, and they even comfort and cry with you when you experience the loss of a loving family pet. So if you are looking for a wonderful Vet. to take the special care that you want for your animal's health needs, look no further. Dr. Connie Jones is a highly educated DVM, who constantly strives to stay on top of the latest developments in the world of veterinary medicine. Her compassion and love of animals reflects back into the practice. She has a special way about her that makes you feel like you're family. The Vet. techs. also at the practice are some of the most knowledgeable veterinary technicians I've ever come to know. They ask all the right questions when you come in for an office visit so as to get a clear picture of your pet to help assist Dr. Connie (Jones) address any issues your pet or you might have. The front desk staff as well as the office manager, Kim Murray are some of the most delightful and welcoming individuals you'll ever meet. There is also an in-house groomer who does a most outstanding job of giving your animal, "a day of beauty." We have 2 Scottish Terriers and the Scottish Terrier haircut can be a difficult cut in of itself. Top that off with having a little female who can be quite the challenge of not wanting to sit still...but Mr. Van never disappoints. She always looks like a little beauty when he is done with her, and her older brother looks quite handsome. Dr Connie is great. Been going there for years with 2 dogs. Another person says there expensive, I think they are fair, I love my dogs & I dont want the cheapest care around. As with anything else in life you get what you pay for, so if your looking for a vet to cut corners in order to give you a lower price good luck with that. Read Less

Dr. Connie is wonderful with our dogs. She has had great compassion when we've had to walk through the end process of our pets lives (dogs and cats) and has been able to save one of our dogs when another vet could not! I drive 30 minutes to bring my dogs to her because I know they are in the best of care with her. The staff is also wonderful and welcoming to humans and animals alike.Read Less

Dr. Connie and her staff are the best around.  They are caring and considerate and are excellent clinicians.  We always feel they consider our pets, their pets. I have older horses who need a variety of support services and the docs keep the herd in great health and comfort and happily answer all of my questions and give great advice. I would like to start by saying it's easy to find a vet, but it's difficult to find a perfect vet... one that is compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly, and animals instantly love. I can tell you that you will find that at Neuse River Vet!My first trip to Neuse was with Sterling a spirited stray newly born kitten that needed to be bottle fed. Due to his numerous health problems we had constant visits to the office, and I met all of the Doctors, Technicians, and Staff that Neuse had to offer. It wasn't until I met Doctor Jones and Technician Nellie that I knew I had found the perfect fit for me, and my little ones. My furry family has changed through the years and Doctor Jones and Nellie have been there with me through all of the good and the bad!They have always made time to see us when we needed them, and have always called to check in on us to see how we were doing after visits. They have always educated us on any findings, and made sure we were ok with the visit and understood everything in its entirety. If you are looking for a place that will truly care for your little ones the way you do I recommend Neuse River Vet. Dr Jim and Dr Bob have been treating my horses since 1984. I trust them completely to help me with not only routine checks, but ideas on nutrition and coming right away in an emergency! I've dealt with Doctors from this hospital on two occasions, and both times I found them well informed and easy to talk to. The first was at the death of a horse at a farm my fiancé was working at (natural death) when a doctor came out to examine the horse. She was very easy going and handled the situation with understated grace, humor and aplomb, providing great contrast to some of the more hysterical people in the audience. The second time I went was when I took my cat in for her initial vaccinations and check up, and again I found the doctor (a different one this time) to be quite well informed and adept at answering my questions.Neuse River is definitely one of the better Veterinary clinics I've been to and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
