Dr. Katie O'Hara DVM has moved to this location and as many pet owners do, we have followed her. We have joined the Wellness Plan which includes up to 10 visits a year, two scheduled comprehensive exams, annual vaccinations and 5% off all services not in the plan.  It is very much like the Banfield plan in what is offered, however grooming is available and the first one is free (including nails) with a coupon.  We have brought Oso twice and anyone with a Husky can tell you that it is a daunting job to groom them.  Oso prances out of the office a handsome chap at least two pounds of hair lighter :).  Grooming is a good 4 hour process as the hair must be dry to furmigate and the cost for Oso was $38.00.  Anyway, Dr. O'Hara has seen Ryleigh twice and has much more time available to her to spend with your pet here.  As always she is kind, knowledgeable,  thorough and a joy to talk to.  Ry had an ear infection and would not let anyone but Dr. O'Hara look at it without attempting to bite them.  It cleared within 10 days of medication. CPAH is a less stressful environment for your pet. Dogs on right, cats on the left with the desk in the center.  The doors to each room are directly off the waiting area so its a simple walk in, register, and see the Dr.  I am all about less stress for the dogs and you can park right in the front.  After the visit you can put your pet in the car and then pay while watching the car (as long as it's not hot.) Last July we took our dog Ginger to see dr. Heather Myers we were greeted with a beautiful smile and a woman of wonderful concern for our dog. We didn't know what was wrong with ginger at the time and neither did the doctor but she worked diligently for several weeks treating Ginger with compassion and love as well as the other staff that assisted in aiding her and Ginger. Our sweet puppy Porter had a rough start. We hadn't even had him home for one full day, when he was admitted to Carolina Pets for treatment for Parvo. Dr. Meyers called with updates frequently throughout his stay. We were thrilled to bring home a healthy puppy! We have had several puppy visits and a few allergy visits since. My daughter Lauren and I have followed Dr Forward from her early days at a vet office in Charlotte many years ago. She has cleaned teeth for us, done eye surgery twice on my cat, We have gone through two euthanasia experiences with her. She is warm, compassionate, and such caring person and also very intelligent doctor. She is board certified; many vets are not. She has treated our 20 yr old for anxiety, our Manx for ear infections, and on and on...she can figure any problem out. I HIGHLY recommend her and her colleagues. Oh my word I cannot tell you all how much I love Carolina Pets Animal Hospital!  We had just moved to the state and while moving in, we found a large lump on our dog's leg. We researched and called around to see who would best fit care for our dog and decided to use Carolina Pets Animal Hospital.  This place was easy to find and clean, which are great for first-timers.  The check in process was seamless.  Now for the best part.  When the doctor came in, she sat on the floor to love all over my puppy which immediately put her at ease.  She checked over all of her parts and then took her back for a sample on her lump.  She explained to me the testing process and why they use who they use to test the sample in the lump.  She also walked through the best care options for our dog because of her age and didn't try to upsell me ANYTHING.  She literally just wanted the best care for our puppy.  After we left, she called me twice with two different lab results (which were good, by the way) and then asked how she was doing, how her leg was, if we had any concerns, etc.  After ALL of that, she sent a card the following week to welcome us to the practice with a hand-written note!  We felt immediately at home with this group of doctors and staff and would highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for the best care for their pets! I have had many issues with my dog for the last 2 years and I'am so impressed with this staff. They educate and give great care no matter what you choose. I cant tell you how many times this entire staff has helped me make educated decisions for the care of my dog .The results have always been improvement . Ive had experiences with three of the vets. Dr. Forward and Dr Meyers are my regular vets but would not hesitate to have any of them care for my girl. I drive 35 minutes twice a week to have my girl taken care of .That says a lot !!! They are kind, compassionate, friendly and truly gifted at their craft of caring for animals. Dr. Majors and Meyers are wonderful vets. We have used them or both our dogs. They were very caring and wonderful with our elderly dog when we first moved here and helped us keep her comfortable, healthy and happy through the end of her life. We have been customers of Carolina Pets Animal Hospital since the first day they opened their doors. Our German Shepherd Ike was one of Dr. Meyer's fist patients and she continues to take care of our two German Shepherds Ivy and Floyd. We have always received the finest care from Carolina Pets and they feel like a part of our extended family. Anytime we need to get an appointment, they do their best to fit us in. They always call the next day to check on our pets. When we lost Ike, they made a very nice donation to Tufts in his name and sent a sympathy card that all the staff signed. A few years ago I followed Dr. Forward to her new practice, Carolina Pets Animal Hospital, from another veterinary practice.  She is one of only about twenty board certified veterinarians in North Carolina, and you can tell from the exemplary care she gives both animals and people (she cried with me when I had to have my first cocker spaniel euthanized).  All of the staff and fellow vets here are the best I've found in North Carolina, and I won't take my pets anywhere else (unless it's an emergency and we're not home or they're closed and it's life threatening).  I've had some extremely bad experiences with vets since moving to north Charlotte (yes, I drive an hour to CPAH, but it's worth the drive), and it was Dr. Forward who found answers and kept my first cocker spaniel alive for another year when at least 8 others couldn't help (some actually hurt).  Carolina Pets Animal Hospital is one of the best places you can take your pet, so if you love your pet, make sure you take her or him to this veterinary clinic.  BTW, the prices are more than reasonable, and they have a payment plan you can sign up for.  They also work with certain pet insurance companies, so you don't always need to pay up front if you have insurance (that's rare).
