This isn't a completely negative review. I did enjoy a few of the vets and techs. They did a fairly good job, I believe, aside from telling me that an MRI for my dog would be around $1-$2K. Try $4,500 at NC State. My 7 year old dog spent the last 5 days of his life at this emergency vet and then at NC State, only to find out that he had brain cancer and inflammatory brain disease. He came home from NC State on a Monday night, and he pretty much just gave up on life. He was in a lot of pain, and it was very obvious he was suffering, so we had to make that decision for him. He was my best friend and he was way too young. This has been 2 months ago, but a few key things about how it was handled still bother me.We take him in at around 11:45PM. Me, my mother, and one of my very dear friends. They direct us to a room and have us lie him down on a blanket, only to have us pick him back up a minute or two later to go and weigh him. Why? Why didn't they have us weigh him when we were first carrying him in? This is the front desk girl, by the way. Fairly certain her name was CRYSTAL. I guess she didn't realize OR care that he was in the most pain he had ever experienced in his life. Then she weighed him. She told me the total of what the euthanization was going to be, and then told me the cut off was 60 lbs, which he was right at. Therefore, it ended up being an extra $50 or so. No problem, front desk lady, I've only spent about $6,000 at this point and I'm losing my best friend. Would you like me to add some gratuity to this bill as well for your stellar customer service?!The lack of tact from this individual only gets better. We take him back into the room and lie him down again, as the doctors get ready for this horrible situation. Not 5 minutes later, this SAME inconsiderate front desk girl came in, as I'm spending the last minutes with my best friend of 7 years, and hands me a clipboard asking me to pay. I was too emotionally drained to be pissed at that moment, but afterwards, all 3 of us were. We spend our last 15 minutes with him as he begins to thoroughly howl in pain in his sleep, as to which my friend took it upon himself to get up and go searching for the doctors letting them know it's time. He was put down at 12:30AM on June 12th, 2018. As if not the worst day of my life, it's also sad to have these negative memories of one's lack of social skills, customer service, and downright emotional sympathy. This may be protocol for this front desk girl's job description, but myself, and the others involved found it extremely unacceptable and disrespectful. Very unhappy with this!! Read Less
