Whoever the chubby ginger doctor is, he needs to check himself. A good vet listens first and throughout the appointment. He did neither. Don't manhandle my family member, rush to treatments without giving a diagnosis, interrupt me and dismiss my comments altogether then expect me to be a fan. When he refused to answer my question for the third time I decided to move along and his response  was "I'm not going to argue with you". Argue? You're so delicate that a 7 word question threatens you and feels like fighting words? Change your diaper. While shoving a thermometer up my cats butt and rattling off (without showing proof) that his temperature "is all the way up to 101 and still climbing" you may want to calm down and wait for a final temp read. The normal body temperature for cats falls in the range of 99-103. If I didn't know that and assumed as most would that their temp should be the same as ours I would probably buy your line about needing antibiotics right away and you'd have a sickly cat customer for life. You showed you wouldn't hesitate unnecessarily medicating him and causing a myriad of lasting side effects. That's low.I will say the office staff was kind, engaging and truly show a love of animals. This clown does not deserve those lovely ladies. I honestly thought (and hoped) the vet tech was the doctor. If she had been, this would be a 5 Star review instead of a 1 Star review.Time to retire and let the next generation take the lead. Your bedside manner sucks and so do you. Read Less

Back in April, I had taken my 9 yr old cat Mini in to see Dr. Gigliotti due to her being severely compacted with stool and in really bad shape. He did such a wonderful job and covered all the bases to ensure her getting back on the right track. I changed her diet to senior as recommended and gave her laxatone. Months went by and she had done nothing but improve on her weight and attitude, just an overall success. He's such a great veterinarian and I am so thankful he helped her.It wasn't until this week that she stopped passing a stool for almost 6 days. In fear that something may happen over the weekend when I couldn't bring her in, we went in today to see Dr. Phillips. Once again, another incredible doctor who was kind and informative from start to finish. He got her all flushed out and put her on a high fiber diet more accustom to her needs. The staff is overall nice, but very pushy about their products. Compared to other doctors in Wilmington, they are over priced. Dr Paul Gigliotti has no bed side manner what so ever. Totally completely misdiagnosed my dog, after ‘examining ‘ him... which his exam consisted of only checking my dogs weight! Thankfully I immediately got a second opinion. This doctor is incredibly arrogant, rude, condescending and insensitive. Not only will I never go there again, I would strongly suggest to anyone looking for a good respectable and knowledgeable veterinarian in the Wilmington area, steer clear of forest hills. There are to many other veterinarians in town to waste your time, your money and potentially the welfare of your pet at that place. Read Less

On the 21st October 2016, we made an appointment with Dr Jill Gigliotti at Forrest Hills veterinary practice for our 8-year old Beagle called Clutch. We were new to this practice as our other vet of 12 years had retired from her practice. Dr Jill Gigliotti was softly spoken and appeared to be very sweet and kind to our dogs; little did we know. She examined Clutchs teeth which were in good shape but she was concerned about an upper pre-molar. Dr Jill Gigliotti suggested to book him for teeth cleaning and she would try to save the tooth in question. As a side note, Clutch had his teeth cleaned last year, we brush his teeth 3 times a week on a regular basis, play pull with him all the time, he eats well, and he has never had any indication of toothache or discomfort. We made an appointment for Friday 28th October 2016 for Clutch to have his teeth cleaned. I took him in and spoke to Jill Gigliotti who assured me that he would be well taken care of. In the mid-afternoon the practice telephoned me to say that Clutch was recovering from the anaesthetic and that everything went well. He could be collected between 4:30 5:30 pm. At about 4:50 pm we went to collect Clutch and pay the bill (which was $499.30). After paying the bill, we were offered an envelope containing (what we thought was Clutchs tooth), which we took. When we looked inside, there were 11 teeth. We were taken inside a consultation room where Jill Gigliotti would see us. We were shocked and in a state of disbelief at what we saw. She said that she had extracted 11 teeth as she believed in being proactive. She said that there were some pockets in the gum that may become infected in the future and that 6 front teeth in the lower jaw were loose, she therefore extracted them proactively. We expressed our extreme dis-satisfaction to which she repeatedly cited being proactive. We were NEVER at any point given the option to consent for 11 teeth to be extracted. She never contacted us for our permission or even for a discussion about it. The term proactive does not imply an emergency measure where she had no choice but do what she did without our informed consent. Additionally, she did not send him home on any pain medication. Clutch was shaking on Saturday at 2 am and his mouth was drooling - he was in obvious pain. We always had dogs and we have lived and worked in four continents, Forest Hills is by far the absolute worst veterinary practice that we have ever encountered. The reason we are writing this review is to advise the reader to do your homework before taking your pet to them.Read Less

Absolutely horrible experience! 25 year resident of wilmington, 20 years as dog owner, my dog on leash was bitten in the face, his jaw fractured, lost teeth, surgery to sew back together by another dog NOT on a leash. The dog owner took me to their vet, forest hills animal hospital. Today, a week after the attack, I returned for check up on the surgery and healing. The doctor came into room and didn't ask how my dog was doing. First thing he said was It's time for you to move ! I don't know this man and he then proceeded to tell me I needed to move to the side of a mountain 4x ! He didn't ask how the dog was healing,he didn't look at the dog , he didn't discuss the dogs injury , my dog is maimed and with lost teeth and a broken jaw, 3 medications and soft food diet. this heartless man advised after his hospital did surgery last week I that I move to the side of a mountain ???. He didn't have anything to say about the dogs healing process . He didn't ask how he was or any words of healing process or prognosis etc. This is the most horrific experience with a animal professional I have ever encountered. DisgustingRead Less

Following a bad dose of heartworm medications (from another vet) in which our dog almost died, Dr. Gigliotti, and the staff provided outstanding care and advocated immensely for our pet when it came to speaking with company reps. Throughout the entire process we were kept informed.  When it comes to our pets we appreciate the amount of time he spends providing us with suggestions and recommendations; we have never felt that he is pushing anything on us- it is a very laid back office and super personal, especially when compared to other vets in Wilmington. Been meaning to write this review for a while. I've been out of Wilmington for a bit, but I figured I'd try to do a service to anyone thinking about making the mistake of going here.Firstly, I want to praise the support staff at this establishment; any time I had a question, no matter how obvious or asinine, and I called them or asked them in-office, they were above-and-beyond helpful. They're the reason I give this place any stars at allHowever, at any "veterinary hospital" the showcase should be the vet, right? Well, here's where this place fails miserably: Dr. Gigliotti.I'm glad another reviewer hit on the pushing of the drugs. Despite the fact I looked through all the literature for anti-flea, worm, et cetera for myself (and happened to pick one of the most expensive ones for my cat), the bad doctor thought it prudent to keep trying to upsell me this-and-that. In my three or so visits, he did it every time and was not only pushy, but condescending about it each time. In fact, everything about this guy screams condescension. He just wouldn't stop with the guilt trips and "I know better than you" kind of comments when all I was looking for was typical guidance and a check-up for my cat. Everything had a price tag that he seemed proud to recite, and was always sold with a loaded question. (I can't remember specific examples what he said, but one was something in reference to some rare cat disease and us moving to another state- something like "Do you know where that disease exists? *proud pause*  That's right, everywhere in the United States"  as he salivated over my wallet, hoping his guilt-trip would open it).I wish my memory was a bit more clear on other such Gigliotti gaffes, but suffice it to say that if you don't like sales people and pressure, you won't like this guy. Wheelin' and dealin' doesn't belong in any kind of doctoring. Read Less

More a pharmacy than a vet. - One of my dogs had some pain this morning and since my usual vet, Dr. Kerr was unavailable, I just wanted to get him in to make sure nothing serious was going on. Dr. Gigliotti hadn't even looked at my dog and was already talking about two different prescriptions. When I told him I was uncomfortable with that, it turned into a drugs versus natural remedies debate. He said, "I can give you two pills or you can come three times a week for laser therapy." I stated I would choose laser therapy. He still wanted to push the drugs and was upset that I didn't agree, which he made quite clear. When I told him I wouldn't debate it with him, I was asked never to return. I do NOT recommend Forest Hills. I think they're more a pharmacy than a vet. I was charged $40 for a 5 minute exam of my dog and 10 minutes of trying to sell me prescriptions and convince me they're "faster and they work." There's a current health crisis that proves otherwise. I'll stick with Dr. Brad Kerr. He's wonderful with my dogs and is holistic first and drugs only when he truly thinks it's in the best interest of your animals. In the event of an emergency, I'll look elsewhere. Read Less

They are pushy with their products & unnecessary vaccines later as I contacted them for a nail trim & meds for one of my dog's ailments. They charge $14 for a nail trim not using a dremel, only clip. Last vet we went to it was free because they WANTED their pets to visit the facility frequently to stay familiar & comfortable with the environment.

Love their new facility. The staff is WONDERFUL. And I know my cats are in the best of care with Dr. Gillotti. The last time I took my old cat in, Dr. Gillotti suggested he not give a particular vaccine ... telling me the vaccine was unnecessary for a cat as old as mine. Now THAT is unusual; a veterinarian not out to gouge his customers/patients. I recommend this vet hospital to anyone who loves their pets as I do. Read Less

Our family along with many others in the area have been going to FH vet hospital since Dr. Gigliotti opened the practice. The office staff are wonderful and so is Dr. Gigliotti. The entire staff make our pet visits a positive experience- never difficult to get an appt.. and the wait is never long either.  It's an awesome place to get superior pet care! Read Less

Read Less
