I was in Wilmington visiting my parents and had to take my dog to see a veterinarian for a injury. After contacting three Vet offices, Hanover Regional agreed to see us. They were very professional and caring. If my dogs need any vet care again while I am visiting in Wilmington, I will bring them to Hanover Regional Animal Hospital. Read Less

I don't think I've ever left a bad review about anything ever so this is a first. I had my dog signed up for the Paw Plan and never consented for it to be renewed. I started a job at another animal hospital in town and had no reason to bring her here, but I shrugged it off that they renewed my plan anyways, figuring that at least I would have some money accredited to my account in case of emergency. Flash forward a year later, when I ask how much money in my account they told me that "money doesn't build on the account" and it "doesn't work like that". But if I could come in tomorrow she could have an exam and some shots, (that she doesn't need). But then after tomorrow that plan expires as does the money. That is almost $450 that they've basically stollen. It was NEVER explained, told, made clear that that money would just disappear and wouldn't be able to be used. I definitely will not be going back. I'm not going to comment on the vet care because I haven't been there recently, but after working at a decent vet with good customer service, where something like this would never happen, I would not recommend going here. We were loyal customers since this practice opened.  I chose to stay with them for my rescue baby's heart worm treatment due to the fact that they had always been trustworthy. Granted the quote I got was TWICE as much as others ($1200), and was told it was due ALL AT THE TIME OF TREATMENT.  But, I trusted them.  However, this last experience has left me truly upset. The staff and the treatment I can not complain about.  However, Felicity, the "manager" is the sole reason I will never be back.  Due to the cost of the treatments, we raised money, donations, and grants, as well as our own money to pay for this newly rescued baby that had already been severely abused and was hours within death.  When I picked her up, it was a Friday.  With most foundations that offer grants, there are strict rules and they will only pay whatever amount directly to the office when the treatment is done.  But, since this was a Friday, before Memorial Day and they were closed, they would not be able to make the payment until Tuesday when they reopened.  I explained this to the staff, since we already had the treatment scheduled and on a timeline to where she had to get the next treatment within a certain amount of time.  I was told to write a check that would be in our file and not applied to the account until Tuesday if for some reason the donation did not go through.  I explained they would not make the donation if the balance showed it was paid.  Long story short, after AT LEAST 10 phone calls, the check was put on the account the same day and when the foundation called to make the donation, they were told there was no balance.  When I called and spoke to the manager, I was told by Felicity, she would remove the check and the foundation could call and make the payment.  They called THREE more times to make the payment and were told there was no balance.  Finally, the foundation just told me to have Felicity call them when the check was removed so they could make the payment.  When I called to make sure it was taken care of, I spoke to Felicity for the SIXTH time, and I was told she never said she would remove the check that to do that she would be "changing medical records."  She even told me they had already held my account open waiting for donations, which was a LIE.  I pointed out that she had already contradicted herself twice in this one phone call, that I wanted to speak to her boss, she said, "I AM THE BOSS."  I asked to speak to the owner of the practice and was told there was not one, she was in charge.  NEVER AGAIN will I trust any of my animals with a company that allows the almighty dollar to allow their "BOSS" to flat out lie to me and generous foundations that are established to help in these situations.  This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and to blatantly lie like this is childish.  Not any one I would want involved in my business, especially to where a loved one's health is concerned. We've been going here for two and a half years. Recently, our lab had to have emergency surgery late in the afternoon. Not only did 3 techs, the hospital manager, and Dr. Carrol stay until 1015, (They close at 530) Dr. Manolukas came in on his day off to comfort us. Both doctors followed us to the emergency vet and stayed with us until midnight. This veterinary office is hands down the best in Wilmington. Don't even think twice just choose them to care for your furbabies. You won't regret it. Read Less

I would not recommend this Vet to anyone. Edit: Got to speak with the Manager about this and was pretty much told that all of my issues were my own fault even though no other options were presented to me before hand. I advised the receptionist that this was all a very large bill before the exams and was not given any other course of action besides pushing 2 or 3 shots back (which would cost me more in the long run because they would need to run another exam for more $) then told that not everything done was not necessary!!! Atrocious customer service and if I could give them 0 stars I would. Read Less

My dog was tested for parasites and worms, found negative, and given medication regardless. Absolute worst experience I have had with animal care. No valid explanation was given, medicines were aggresively overpriced, and I was not asked before tests were performed, then charged for them anyways. Please take it from a 23 year old young professional, unless you have money to blow, PLEASE look elsewhere for animal care. Very dissapointed in a highly ranked vet office. Read Less

We are grateful for Dr. "John" Manolukas and the entire staff at HRAH. For the past 3 years Ozzie, our Boston Terrier, has looked forward to his check-ups and visits with Dr. Manolukas. Imagine a Vet that sits on the floor and allows your dog to lick him all over his face, plays with your pet, and talks about how your pet is doing, all while receiving his shots and exam. No wonder Ozzie shakes with excitement every time we visit! Dr. Manolukas has given us helpful solutions to all of our questions. His expertise and interest in keeping us up to date on the best pet parenting for our dog is much appreciated! The staff is so wonderful! Not only did they interact with our two dogs but they interacted with our 7 year old! It was like walking into family. Dr Mack was so nice and the Tech (I forgot to get her name) handled our dogs so well. Even our little guy Thor who is a grump they handled with ease. Shots questions and concerns were all addressed. I was worried about finding yet another Vet, (we just moved from Utah to Goldsboro then to Wilmington,) But am so glad I went with the previous reviews. I can't recommend Dr. Manolukas and the rest of the staff at HRAH enough! They have provided excellent care to my Golden Retriever, Griffin. He went in for surgery recently and I was very nervous to leave him. The staff took excellent care of him; they even sent me a picture of him snoozing with his stuffed animal so I knew he was resting comfortably after his surgery. Great experience! I took our very sick little poodle in this morning. While they did not have an open appointment today, they still worked us in quickly. Dr. Manolukas was very caring and attentive to our sweet little Millie and to me. He didn't hurry us through; rather he treated us like we were the only clients of the day. The staff is professional and friendly. After having some "not so great" experiences at other veterinarian offices, this was a breath of fresh air. I took my kitten, Nala, who is 10 weeks old for her first Vet visit here. Right off the back I was greeted and the receptionist even came and sat with us in the waiting area to look at nala and ask questions about her and said how beautiful she was. I felt so welcomed. The vet was amazing that we saw! She was very loving and was very informative. They weren't pushy with doing vaccinations that were unnecessary. My poor kitty was scared her first time and isn't too friendly when she has to be held, however they were very professional and were patient. The cost of her first visit wasn't too terribly priced either. I would recommend this place if you are new to the area or need a change in veterinarian! Read Less

Very happy with Hanover Regional Animal Hospital. We have two dogs and a cat that are patients here. The staff is friendly, they are always able to accommodate the needs of our pack, we get plenty of reminders about what services are needed so we don't fall behind. My 13.5 year old dog has been getting laser treatments for his arthritis there for over a year.  The treatment has helped immensely and the caring staff is icing on the cake.  They all know him by name, always have time for a scratch behind his ears and a treat.  They are equally thoughtful with people.   Appointments run on time and we never feel rushed through.  The front desk staff keeps everything moving like clockwork. I had a very bad customer service experience concerning Hanover Regional Animal Hospital and will not be returning to this office. I do not recommend Hanover Regional Animal Hospital to anyone due to their unhelpful and frankly dismissive receptionist, Amy. I had scheduled an appointment several weeks in advance. On the day of the appointment, while driving, I phoned the office 5 minutes before the appointment was set to start. As a courtesy to the vet I was simply letting them know that I was running behind. (I have two dogs so obviously it's sometimes difficult to be punctual). Amy, who is the receptionist/ aka 'Client Services' for HRAH said that I should just reschedule if I was going to be over 10 minutes late. I stated that I was on my way and did not want to reschedule because it was still 5 mins before the scheduled time. That was the first bad taste in my mouth about this experience. I arrived at HRAH five minutes after the phone call. There were no staff members, including Amy, in the front of the office. Two other customers were already waiting when I sat down with my dogs to wait to confirm that I had arrived. Amy finally came to the front, not explaining the delay. Once she had addressed the other two customers, I then identified myself and confirmed that I was there for my pet's appointment.This is when it really started to go downhill. After 30 minutes of waiting with my two dogs, a couple with two dogs entered the office. They were called back to see a veterinarian roughly 15 minutes later as I and my dogs were still waiting at around 45 minutes at this point. No explanation was offered as to why the couple that had come in after me was seen first.I asked Amy what was taking the additional time, advising that I was disconcerted by the situation that a couple that had arrived after me and my two dogs was taken in first. Amy advised that the couple was there to see a different veterinarian. Amy advised that the delay with regards to my wait time was due to an emergency with a cat. I expressed concern and then asked how long it would be for the vet to see my pets. This was now an hour into my waiting with my dogs. She stated that she didn't know, giving me an annoyed look, and disappeared into the back for about five minutes. Amy finally emerged stating that my pet's vet was the doctor who was specifically busy with the cat emergency and it would be a while longer. Amy expressed no empathy or concern for my wait time and the fact that I saw someone else go before me (under the special circumstances). Finally, Amy offered for my pets to see another veterinarian. By then, I was appalled that she did not suggest and offer this option up front, being that she was  fully aware of the emergency situation. Needless to say, at that point, I was beyond frustrated, my dogs were restless, and I was simply fed up with the lack of options and consideration that I feel was due to a customer that was ready to pay the quoted $300+ for my pet's visit. The issue with the entire situation was that Amy never said the simple words "I'm sorry for your wait" or "I apologize it's been so long". Instead, she just kept advising me that there was an emergency with a cat, that my vet was busy and did not offer the option to meet with another veterinarian until I asked her multiple times about the situation. Consideration for the customer is key, and she didn't display it. Hanover Regional Animal Hospital has lost a customer for life. I will not be returning to Hanover Regional Animal Hospital. I have been a pet owner for over 10 years and I have never had such a bad customer service experience at a veterinarian's office in my life. This also rates in the top bad customer service experiences that I have had from any company in general. Read Less

Dr. Manolukas is a wonderful veterinarian. He genuinely cares about the pets he treats. The entire staff is knowledgable and loving towards the animals they care for. In addition, there is always enough time given for each pet. We never feel rushed when we are there, even when we have had an unexpected visit. This is a clean, comfortable setting for the animals and their human parents. Our family appreciates the dedication that the entire staff gives to the people and pets they serve. Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Hanover Regional Animal Hospital for over 20 years.Of course some staff has changed over the years but I have always had good experiences and great care for my pets which are our family. I took my dog in recently and found the staff friendly and courteous as usual. The wait time was minimal and Dr. Manolukas is a really compassionate and thorough vet. His concern for his patients is comforting and he takes a lot of time to get acquainted with your pet and explain the exam and results. Also, I have never felt I was 'oversold' on services or products and I appreciate that. Read Less

I don't think I've ever left a bad review about anything ever so this is a first. I had my dog signed up for the Paw Plan and never consented for it to be renewed. I started a job at another animal hospital in town and had no reason to bring her here, but I shrugged it off that they renewed my plan anyways, figuring that at least I would have some money accredited to my account in case of emergency. Flash forward a year later, when I ask how much money in my account they told me that "money doesn't build on the account" and it "doesn't work like that". But if I could come in tomorrow she could have an exam and some shots, (that she doesn't need). But then after tomorrow that plan expires as does the money. That is almost $450 that they've basically stollen. It was NEVER explained, told, made clear that that money would just disappear and wouldn't be able to be used. I definitely will not be going back. I'm not going to comment on the vet care because I haven't been there recently, but after working at a decent vet with good customer service, where something like this would never happen, I would not recommend going here. We were loyal customers since this practice opened.  I chose to stay with them for my rescue baby's heart worm treatment due to the fact that they had always been trustworthy. Granted the quote I got was TWICE as much as others ($1200), and was told it was due ALL AT THE TIME OF TREATMENT.  But, I trusted them.  However, this last experience has left me truly upset. The staff and the treatment I can not complain about.  However, Felicity, the "manager" is the sole reason I will never be back.  Due to the cost of the treatments, we raised money, donations, and grants, as well as our own money to pay for this newly rescued baby that had already been severely abused and was hours within death.  When I picked her up, it was a Friday.  With most foundations that offer grants, there are strict rules and they will only pay whatever amount directly to the office when the treatment is done.  But, since this was a Friday, before Memorial Day and they were closed, they would not be able to make the payment until Tuesday when they reopened.  I explained this to the staff, since we already had the treatment scheduled and on a timeline to where she had to get the next treatment within a certain amount of time.  I was told to write a check that would be in our file and not applied to the account until Tuesday if for some reason the donation did not go through.  I explained they would not make the donation if the balance showed it was paid.  Long story short, after AT LEAST 10 phone calls, the check was put on the account the same day and when the foundation called to make the donation, they were told there was no balance.  When I called and spoke to the manager, I was told by Felicity, she would remove the check and the foundation could call and make the payment.  They called THREE more times to make the payment and were told there was no balance.  Finally, the foundation just told me to have Felicity call them when the check was removed so they could make the payment.  When I called to make sure it was taken care of, I spoke to Felicity for the SIXTH time, and I was told she never said she would remove the check that to do that she would be "changing medical records."  She even told me they had already held my account open waiting for donations, which was a LIE.  I pointed out that she had already contradicted herself twice in this one phone call, that I wanted to speak to her boss, she said, "I AM THE BOSS."  I asked to speak to the owner of the practice and was told there was not one, she was in charge.  NEVER AGAIN will I trust any of my animals with a company that allows the almighty dollar to allow their "BOSS" to flat out lie to me and generous foundations that are established to help in these situations.  This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and to blatantly lie like this is childish.  Not any one I would want involved in my business, especially to where a loved one's health is concerned. We've been going here for two and a half years. Recently, our lab had to have emergency surgery late in the afternoon. Not only did 3 techs, the hospital manager, and Dr. Carrol stay until 1015, (They close at 530) Dr. Manolukas came in on his day off to comfort us. Both doctors followed us to the emergency vet and stayed with us until midnight. This veterinary office is hands down the best in Wilmington. Edit: Got to speak with the Manager about this and was pretty much told that all of my issues were my own fault even though no other options were presented to me before hand. I advised the receptionist that this was all a very large bill before the exams and was not given any other course of action besides pushing 2 or 3 shots back (which would cost me more in the long run because they would need to run another exam for more $) then told that not everything done was not necessary!!! My dog was tested for parasites and worms, found negative, and given medication regardless. Absolute worst experience I have had with animal care. No valid explanation was given, medicines were aggresively overpriced, and I was not asked before tests were performed, then charged for them anyways. Please take it from a 23 year old young professional, unless you have money to blow, PLEASE look elsewhere for animal care. Very dissapointed in a highly ranked vet office. Read Less

Imagine a Vet that sits on the floor and allows your dog to lick him all over his face, plays with your pet, and talks about how your pet is doing, all while receiving his shots and exam. No wonder Ozzie shakes with excitement every time we visit! Dr. Manolukas has given us helpful solutions to all of our questions. The staff is so wonderful! Not only did they interact with our two dogs but they interacted with our 7 year old! It was like walking into family. Dr Mack was so nice and the Tech (I forgot to get her name) handled our dogs so well. Even our little guy Thor who is a grump they handled with ease. Shots questions and concerns were all addressed. I was worried about finding yet another Vet, (we just moved from Utah to Goldsboro then to Wilmington,) But am so glad I went with the previous reviews. I can't recommend Dr. Manolukas and the rest of the staff at HRAH enough! They have provided excellent care to my Golden Retriever, Griffin. He went in for surgery recently and I was very nervous to leave him. The staff took excellent care of him; they even sent me a picture of him snoozing with his stuffed animal so I knew he was resting comfortably after his surgery. Great experience! I took our very sick little poodle in this morning. While they did not have an open appointment today, they still worked us in quickly. Dr. Manolukas was very caring and attentive to our sweet little Millie and to me. He didn't hurry us through; rather he treated us like we were the only clients of the day. The staff is professional and friendly. After having some "not so great" experiences at other veterinarian offices, this was a breath of fresh air. I took my kitten, Nala, who is 10 weeks old for her first Vet visit here. Right off the back I was greeted and the receptionist even came and sat with us in the waiting area to look at nala and ask questions about her and said how beautiful she was. I felt so welcomed. The vet was amazing that we saw! She was very loving and was very informative. They weren't pushy with doing vaccinations that were unnecessary. My poor kitty was scared her first time and isn't too friendly when she has to be held, however they were very professional and were patient. The cost of her first visit wasn't too terribly priced either. I would recommend this place if you are new to the area or need a change in veterinarian! Read Less

I had a very bad customer service experience concerning Hanover Regional Animal Hospital and will not be returning to this office. I do not recommend Hanover Regional Animal Hospital to anyone due to their unhelpful and frankly dismissive receptionist, Amy. I had scheduled an appointment several weeks in advance. On the day of the appointment, while driving, I phoned the office 5 minutes before the appointment was set to start. As a courtesy to the vet I was simply letting them know that I was running behind. (I have two dogs so obviously it's sometimes difficult to be punctual). Amy, who is the receptionist/ aka 'Client Services' for HRAH said that I should just reschedule if I was going to be over 10 minutes late. I stated that I was on my way and did not want to reschedule because it was still 5 mins before the scheduled time. That was the first bad taste in my mouth about this experience. I arrived at HRAH five minutes after the phone call. There were no staff members, including Amy, in the front of the office. Two other customers were already waiting when I sat down with my dogs to wait to confirm that I had arrived. Amy finally came to the front, not explaining the delay. Once she had addressed the other two customers, I then identified myself and confirmed that I was there for my pet's appointment.This is when it really started to go downhill. After 30 minutes of waiting with my two dogs, a couple with two dogs entered the office. They were called back to see a veterinarian roughly 15 minutes later as I and my dogs were still waiting at around 45 minutes at this point. No explanation was offered as to why the couple that had come in after me was seen first.I asked Amy what was taking the additional time, advising that I was disconcerted by the situation that a couple that had arrived after me and my two dogs was taken in first. Amy advised that the couple was there to see a different veterinarian. Amy advised that the delay with regards to my wait time was due to an emergency with a cat. I expressed concern and then asked how long it would be for the vet to see my pets. This was now an hour into my waiting with my dogs. She stated that she didn't know, giving me an annoyed look, and disappeared into the back for about five minutes. Amy finally emerged stating that my pet's vet was the doctor who was specifically busy with the cat emergency and it would be a while longer. Amy expressed no empathy or concern for my wait time and the fact that I saw someone else go before me (under the special circumstances). Finally, Amy offered for my pets to see another veterinarian. By then, I was appalled that she did not suggest and offer this option up front, being that she was  fully aware of the emergency situation. Needless to say, at that point, I was beyond frustrated, my dogs were restless, and I was simply fed up with the lack of options and consideration that I feel was due to a customer that was ready to pay the quoted $300+ for my pet's visit. The issue with the entire situation was that Amy never said the simple words "I'm sorry for your wait" or "I apologize it's been so long". Instead, she just kept advising me that there was an emergency with a cat, that my vet was busy and did not offer the option to meet with another veterinarian until I asked her multiple times about the situation. Consideration for the customer is key, and she didn't display it. Hanover Regional Animal Hospital has lost a customer for life. I will not be returning to Hanover Regional Animal Hospital. I have been a pet owner for over 10 years and I have never had such a bad customer service experience at a veterinarian's office in my life. This also rates in the top bad customer service experiences that I have had from any company in general. Read Less

Dr. Manolukas is a wonderful veterinarian. He genuinely cares about the pets he treats. The entire staff is knowledgable and loving towards the animals they care for. In addition, there is always enough time given for each pet. We never feel rushed when we are there, even when we have had an unexpected visit. This is a clean, comfortable setting for the animals and their human parents. Our family appreciates the dedication that the entire staff gives to the people and pets they serve. Read Less

I have been taking my pets to Hanover Regional Animal Hospital for over 20 years.Of course some staff has changed over the years but I have always had good experiences and great care for my pets which are our family. I took my dog in recently and found the staff friendly and courteous as usual. The wait time was minimal and Dr. Manolukas is a really compassionate and thorough vet. His concern for his patients is comforting and he takes a lot of time to get acquainted with your pet and explain the exam and results. Also, I have never felt I was 'oversold' on services or products and I appreciate that. Read Less
