I was recommended this hospital for Dr. K, because he has greyhound experience, and he does know the breed well.  I REALLY like this place, extremely thorough, price competitive, the employees are not quick to rush you out the door and very friendly.There is something to be said about going to an established vet with a nice old building.  I feel that the money is being spent in the right area, on the customer, not the building or the cup at a time coffee machine.These guys are keepers. Best advice, If going to Leonard Sykes Hospital for Pets please make your appointment with Dr. John Kiloran, a kind, caring, gentle and well educated veterinary doctor instead of Dr. Sykes. Leonard-Sykes Hospital for pets interior reflects Dr. Sykes personality, dark, cynical, nasty and rude. This office should be shut down, its rooms lack cleanliness, the wound area is dirty, and, also where ill/post surgical animals in cages are kept. The stress these pets endure watching and hearing a wounded animal crying out is unbearable. This doctors young assistants do not wear gloves and assist with bloody/infected animal tissue at the approval of Dr. Sykes who sees nothing wrong with them not wearing protective gloves while he wears them only! This doctor seems full of anger, is arrogant, argumentative, vulgar and cynical. He is in favor of "putting them to sleep" versus trying to save pets with other treatments. Suggestion: clean, scrub, remove all old wood paneling, paint, separate the ill/post surgery pets in a decent room other than a traumatizing wound area, for starters. Then, Dr. Sykes, take a vacation, get some help or better yet retire. Read Less

I never write reviews on anything, but I had to for LSHP. We are so Happy with this Vet. All of our animals see Dr. K! He is so patient with them, He spends lots of time with us to makes sure we understand everything, there is NEVER any hidden or unexpected charges. All of the staff is so caring, for pets and for people. We have had to make some very hard choices in that building and we were always well informed by the staff and never made to feel that we were doing the wrong thing. I honestly can not say enough. When we moved into our new house abt 2 years ago, my sweet neighbor told me abt Dr.Sykes office. She had nothing but great things to say and I am so glad I listened! Just one example: My sweet girl has a spot, maybe a bite, she keeps scratching at. So I called Dr.Sykes office today, at least 3 times, for advice. I spoke with Floral. What a sweet and patient woman! Instead of being like the typical "well we won't know unless you bring her in" aka money, she suggested I try Benadryl first and if she doesn't seem to be getting a little better by tomorrow morning, they'd work her in. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr.Sykes and his amazing staff! If you are looking for top quality care for your pets, for a veterinarian AND staff to help ease your mind, even for the littlest things, this is the best place to take your pet babies. I have used Leonard Sykes a couple of times and the employees are always friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are not bad compared to other vets in the area. I seen Dr.K the last time which he was great in the room but I did notice during my time there, that he was very Ignorant to some of the other workers which rubbed me wrong. The girls at the front are always pleasing to speak with and they will do everything they can to get you in the office in a timely manner. Dr. Killoran is as top notch as they come. His number one concern is your pet and their wellbeing. I have recommended him several times and everyone I have referred feels the same. Best animal hospital around!Read Less

A friend of mine recommended Leonard-Sykes to me when I was trying to get my dogs spayed without spending upwards of $600. Really fair pricing for their services. I can actually get all of my pets the care they need without going completely broke. Vets and staff are very kind and obviously passionate about providing excellent care to animals. Unfortunately if this VET does NOT update his offices, to show that he truly has the animals and people in mind, his business will continue to fail. His offices are the oldest and most out-dated in a bad way. Any VET who does NOT invest in his own business has NO right being in business. PERIOD. Sykes shows that he DOES NOT care about the animals nor the people that go there for professional advice and/or care. Obviously 'money' is the most important thing to this VET. Update your exam rooms, your walls, your floors, and most importantly your equipment. Otherwise, no one is going to show up here., nor should they take their sick animals at this OLD -out-dated place. I don't trust a VET that does not care/invest into his own business/offices. Dr. Sykes is one of the kindest men I know. We had to put our little poodle Chico down for a blown disc in his back. Dr. sykes took the time to tell us the pros and cons of what surgery would do and then let us have some time with Chico before we made our decision...We decided he didn't need to suffer anymore and Dr. Sykies let us be with him while he went to be in Jesus's arms...Thanks Dr. Sykes....I appreciate all you did...and God bless the staffBetsy and Charles Casey Read Less
