Love this place. We have 2 kittens we got from a shelter. One was sick and we ended up in the ER hospital where we met Dr White. She treated our furbaby with such kindness and concern. He is back to his normal self with in 24 hours. The other kitten was also sick and we call Porters Neck and met Dr. Harris who was so nice and treated us with honest concern for baby. We had to bring him back the next morning because still wasn't eating. She got him to eat and since we've been home has eaten a huge meal and is now playing. Last night he has a 50/50 chance. I will not be taking my babies any where else.

I had the best experience at Porters Neck. The staff was incredible. They were very patient and helpful with the check in and check out process. And Dr. Rowe was amazing. Our situation was a difficult one because we took a rescue dog there and we had no idea exactly what his needs were (just that there were many). They kept him for the entire day and treated him for fleas and an ear infection in addition to giving him all the shots he hadn't had and giving him a badly needed bath and nail trim. They took on this job with one days notice after just a phone call from me. I can't say enough about how great the experience was.

My family has taken our pets/furry family members here for over 15 years, before they were in this current location. The staff is incredible, caring and truly offer the best attention possible beginning with receptionists and including kennel staff, techs, veterinarians and even the outsourced companies that handle things like cremation. I can't say enough about the doctors here and how they've welcomed me and always remember my animals and know how to handle all types of patients...animal and human :) P.S.- Dr. Rebecca Simmons has personally completed successful surgery and treatments on all kinds of animals I've rescued and placed from removing a goiter from a baby bunny to giving my Rottweiler the best health care extending his life 5 years past what everyone said was impossible. I can't say enough positives...these accolades are also given to Dr. Stan, Dr.s Ron and Sharon Harris and the rest of the staff there. Not one unprofessional in the group.

I have so many great things to say about Dr. Matt Resnick at Porters Neck Vet! We rescued a dog a few months ago who had severe stomach issues, later finding out it was food allergies to what we were feeding him. It's been an uphill battle trying to get our dog feeling healthy again, and Dr. Resnick has been there every step of the way, offering us suggestions, guidance, and support whenever needed. We can call Matt at any time and know that he will get back to us that same day. I recommend Dr. Resnick and Porter's Neck Vet to anyone who wants attentive service and the best care for their animals!

We have a 14 year old FIV cat that we rescued out of the woods about 7 years ago. When we initially took him in to this vet, and they told us he was at least 7 with FIV (kitty aids, basically), we were devastated because we had already gotten so attached, but Dr Ron told us with good care and frequent visits he could live a long, happy life. And he was right, 7 years later. He has had some problems, with his teeth ( all of them pulled, at this point), and they never sugar coated anything, but they never sounded like we should feel defeated, either
He had the last (4) of his teeth pulled a couple of months ago, and we took him in every week to check on his progress, which was slow..
Now, He has gained about 2 pounds at least, he is darting up and down the hallway every night, and he is healthy and shiny and fully healed(well, as much as possible) We realize he doesn't have very long, being 14 with FIV, but to look at him now, he's the healthiest he has ever been, and really think he may have one or even two more years, a lot in thanks to these vets. Have a rescue FIV 13-14 year old old cat. We have been coming here for at least 7 years, kitty has had some scary times. Vets did not sugar coat condition, but also are very supportive and are honest about what can be done and what is possible about his condition. He just had his last (4) teeth pulled, and went back every week for follow up , he was healing slowly, but nobody gave up , and now he has gained at least 2 pounds, has started darting up and down the hallway every night again ( hasn't done that for about 3 years), is shiny and somehow grooms himself now to perfection(without teeth, who knew?),have never seen him healthier, thanks to these honest and compassionate vets. Kitty says Hi:)just a tiny note......... please let any pet owner know what can be done, even though they may not look like they have the money. It may be awkward for the people who don't and I know you don't want them to feel guilty, but for the people that do, even though they might not look like it, it could save the pets life:)

They all helped me get a stray dog's vaccinations, heart worm preventative & spay taken care of.--She's still available for adoption as of Oct 2016!--I've also referred a friend and she drives from Jacksonville to get her animals' needs taken care of here because of how much she loves them. John Stawicki of Cape Fear Canine Behavior does Puppy Socialization/Kindergarten classes on every other Saturday that I can sometimes help out with. That is some invaluable information for puppy owners (& anyone can always learn!).

I have used porters neck for almost 10 years. The change in ownership was nearly seamless as a vet in the clinic is the one who bought it and Dr Ron and Dr Sharon are on staff and I see them all the time. They have taken excellent care of all my dogs and have never requested something that wasn't necessary. Honest, compassionate and friendly. All the vets are extremely skilled and always teach me while I am there. And the techs and office staff are awesome. I always recommend this clinic and know they always put my dog's health first.

After a 12 year relationship with several pets and this practice, I made the decision to move on this morning. Although I have loved working with Dr. Ron Harris over the years, the vet/client relationship that once existed has vanished since the hospital was sold to its new owners. Clients are no longer a priority. Long term relationships mean nothing. Billing you for every test possible is a priority. Even after I made the decision to move o to another veterinary practice and asked for my records, I was only given a few. Very disappointing.

We moved to Wilmington last August with our Choc. Lab~ who had been courageously battling lymphoma for about 2 years and had been in remission. We were very fortunate to find Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital, with the kindest, most compassionate Dr. Matt Resnick and his caring staff.
I felt that he loved our dog as much as we did. He went above and beyond to find medications for our beloved ZEUS, and to care for him. When Zeus came out of remission the last time, we knew that it was only a matter of months, but we wanted to give him the best months. When it was time for us to let him go, Dr. Matt came to our apartment and laid right next to Zeus and hugged him and kissed him. He spent a lot of time there that day, and allowed us a long time to say good bye. We miss our Zeus so much, but glad that we had the time that we did with him. He enriched our lives beyond measure. We can't thank Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital enough for all that they did for him. Let it be known, that when the time comes, our next little guy will be getting to know Dr. Matt and his staff too!

My dog recently got sick and I am so glad these guys are our vet. Dr. Simmons did an awesome job getting my pup healthy again and keeping the cost manageable. She never pressured me into doing more tests or procedures than necessary, and it was arranged so I could bring my dog home every night, that was great for us both. I am totally staying with my vet.

If wasn't for all the wonderful loving staff at Porter's neck vet I don't know if my sweet Abbey would still be here! About three months ago my pup received a grim diagnoses of IMHA! But with the excellent care of the all the staff there she is making her way to being one Heathy pup again! They are all so wonderful but a special thanks to Dr. Amy White (now with Eastern Carolina Emergency Vet) which by way they are also amazingly caring there too and vet tech Evan for allowing his dog blue to donate blood and save my girls life! And all the other wonderful Drs and Vet Techs and ladies upfront that have made our journey with IMHA the most pleasant it can possible be! You all rock! I meet Dr Resnick while at his former hospital, he came recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for a second opinion on my dogs cancer diagnoses. Dr Resnick immediately went above and beyond for my boy by meeting him outside in the parking lot first, since he had a fear of vets ( more then the normal). Dr Resnick made me feel hopeful but realistic on the facts of my dogs diagnoses. He made sure to explain everything so that I understood and truly made him self available to me at all times throughout the treatment. He managed to make the impossible - possible, every step of the way. During the course of my dogs cancer treatment Dr Resnick relocated to PNVH, during the transition Dr. Rebecca stepped in to help with his treatments. My boy was a big goofy 13 year old pit bull who hated, literally did not like being in any vets office, but she didn't hesitate to take him by the leash and walk him right into a room to do his follow up and bandage care. She was awesome in stepping into a mid cancer treatment with a somewhat sketchy dog! A year after my boy finally lost his battle with cancer, with much love and support from PNVH, I took my new baby girl right back to PNVH. Followed a few months later by another new family member. She needed a baby brother! So I obviously have a great deal of trust, respect and love for Dr Matt and Dr Rebecca. I have seen Dr Stan for walk in sick call visit and he was just as wonderful. The support staff including all the front desk team members ( Teri you are amazing and my baby girl went from shy coward to running from the car to your desk, she obviously loves you!) and the Vet techs are truly a great group of people. I mean how often are you greeted by a vet tech singing a song with your dogs name in it?! There aren't enough stars for all the stars at PNVH! Thank you all for all you do!!

I love this practice! They took great care with my family and I when we took my cat there. And when it came time to send him to heaven and put him out of pain out vet was so sweet and understanding, she really cared. She even cried with us, she knew it was a sad time. The vets here really care, pets are more than just pets they are family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I have 3 dogs (all different ages, breeds and sizes) and going to the vet is a routine thing for us. When I moved to Wilmington 6 years ago I tried 2 other vets before hearing about PNVH. Those other vets were ok but I wanted more than ok. My first visit to PNVH was with Dr. Sharon Harris who won me over right from the start. She treated my dog like her own and had a very calming nature about her that put both me and the dog at ease. Because she works only part-time, we saw other vets in the practice. Dr. Ron is top notch and takes a conservative approach, which I like. Unlike other vets that I've seen, he doesn't order unnecessary tests and will work with your budget when it comes to treatments and procedures. He has always been prompt at returning my calls and never makes me feel as if I'm burdening him or bothering him with my questions. He makes ample time for his clients. Dr. Rebecca Simmons Is our primary Vet for all 3 of our dogs. She is who we ask to see, will wait to see and trust with anything and everything relating to our animals. She has a wonderful, sunny disposition and is easy to talk to. I honestly couldn't ask for more from any veterinarian. I could rave on and on about her but the bottom line here is I've never had a bad experience with any of the vets that I've seen at this practice. I like different things about each of them but my husband and I both prefer Dr. Simmons. We also think very highly of Ashley who is a technician that commonly assists on our visits. The only potential negative that I could possibly see in this practice is a frequent change in front office staff but, that's not uncommon with any practice. It's never once been a deterrent for me and I feel comfortable with the staff they have now. I honestly cannot imagine taking my animals anywhere else.

We have been taking our dogs to Porter's Neck for over twelve years. Dr. Rebecca and Dr. Amy are two of the most capable and loving vets I have ever known. They have held our hands through the lives of our four dogs (two of which have passed on at ages 14 and 16). I have no doubt that the longevity and happiness of our pups is in great part to the care that we have received at Porter's Neck. We now live in Myrtle Grove but without hesitation are willing to pass by a dozen veterinary offices to go to Porter's Neck. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone that loves their pets and wants them to receive true "family style" care.

Dr. Rebecca is a star as far as we're concerned. She is gentle and thorough and seems to genuinely care about Tucker and us. My only dissatisfaction is the wait time. No matter when the appointment is, you wait. First you wait to be called into an exam room where a very professional tech discusses the reason for the visit. He/she leaves and says the doctor will be right in. And then you wait. And sometimes you wait, and wait, and wait. I don't understand this. We think Rebecca is well worth waiting for, but by the time Tucker sees her he is more than ready to leave.

I struggled with my star rating on this one and here's why. I love Doctor Ron. He will do anything it takes to help your pet and really knows everything. A true expert in vet medicine. His "bedside manner" with our cats and dog has been terrific, they almost seem to relax around him once he touches them.They also have some very good vet techs, and some not so good vet techs. I realize people have bad days and things going on outside of the workplace. Leave it in the parking lot! This place is expensive and I don't want to deal with a dismissive or insolent vet tech!The front desk staff MUST improve. They pretend to be distracted or uninterested, or simply don't care about the customers. Most of the times I've been there they almost seem annoyed at the presence of customers. I've never understood it.We drive past a hundred vets to go there and once you meet Doctor Ron, you will know why.Update 3/17. After numerous visits since my original review I have to say customer service has improved a lot! The front desk folks and the techs are terrific. Doctor Ron is still as wonderful as he has always been.So I added another star to my review.

Always a vet clinic that is truly interested in the health and well being of our pets. I can't imagine trusting anyone else. Thank Sharon for jumping in today. I am still a little baffled by the outcome. But I don't mind that my dogs continue to defy the laws of medicine. All the vets here are so aware and always try to do their absolute best and aren't just looking for ways for you to spend your money. I can't say thank you guys enough for all the help and hope you have given my own personal dogs. I would never hesitate to refer you. I tell people all the time you don't choose your own doctor just because they are right down the street why do your choose your vet that way. Pick a vet who really cares, knows their stuff and became a vet to save animals because they love animals not because they want to do every test under the sun just to spend your money. Honest, huge hearts and just good people. Thank you all.

Our Yorkshire Terrier, Lexie got very sick and the care she received at Porters Neck Vet was exceptional. The entire staff was professional, kind, caring and helpful. But special mention has to be made of Dr. Ron. He took the time to explain everything to us, was patient with our questions and even came in the next day (on his day off) to do x-rays and administer fluids. We called several times to check on her and each time Dr. Ron took the time to talk to us himself and give us updates. Lexie is well now and we feel it is due to the excellent care that she received at Porters Neck Vet from Dr. Ron and his staff.

We love this vet. All of the employees are very caring and they are always available to fit us in whenever we have an emergency or just need to see the vet quickly. We use the vet for both annual checks and vaccinations, as well as a few surgeries. These guys are great! We have been going to them for years. They first took us when our dog was very sick, in pain and our normal vet (WBPH) wouldn't get to us until the following week. When we had to make the painful decision to put our dog down, Dr. Harris, let us stay and visit with our dog for hours, checking in on us - he never rushed us, was very compassionate and supportive during an extremely difficult time. Over the past 7 years, they have continued to help us with all of our pets with friendly and personable service - through routine exams and special emergency situations. You may have to wait at times, but you get that time back with them when it is your turn. The entire staff is nice from receptionist, to techs, to the 4 vets. Not sure why the other review is so negative - sounds like just a bad day.

This is by far the worst experience we have ever had at a veterinary hospital. We took our cocker spaniel there for a skin condition. After repeated visits and ultimatley failing to eliminate the problem, we were frustrated. This on top of a significant charge for each visit. Dr. Harris and I almost came to blows as he displayed his defiance. His assistant, who looks like one of the clowns on the Star News mugshots, kept picking up the phone saying I am going to call 911. Someone needs to call 911 on this joke of a veterinarian.

Love this place. We have 2 kittens we got from a shelter. One was sick and we ended up in the ER hospital where we met Dr White. She treated our furbaby with such kindness and concern. He is back to his normal self with in 24 hours. The other kitten was also sick and we call Porters Neck and met Dr. Harris who was so nice and treated us with honest concern for baby. We had to bring him back the next morning because still wasn't eating. She got him to eat and since we've been home has eaten a huge meal and is now playing. Last night he has a 50/50 chance. I will not be taking my babies any where else.

I had the best experience at Porters Neck. The staff was incredible. They were very patient and helpful with the check in and check out process. And Dr. Rowe was amazing. Our situation was a difficult one because we took a rescue dog there and we had no idea exactly what his needs were (just that there were many). They kept him for the entire day and treated him for fleas and an ear infection in addition to giving him all the shots he hadn't had and giving him a badly needed bath and nail trim. They took on this job with one days notice after just a phone call from me. I can't say enough about how great the experience was.

My family has taken our pets/furry family members here for over 15 years, before they were in this current location. The staff is incredible, caring and truly offer the best attention possible beginning with receptionists and including kennel staff, techs, veterinarians and even the outsourced companies that handle things like cremation. I can't say enough about the doctors here and how they've welcomed me and always remember my animals and know how to handle all types of patients...animal and human :) P.S.- Dr. Rebecca Simmons has personally completed successful surgery and treatments on all kinds of animals I've rescued and placed from removing a goiter from a baby bunny to giving my Rottweiler the best health care extending his life 5 years past what everyone said was impossible. I can't say enough positives...these accolades are also given to Dr. Stan, Dr.s Ron and Sharon Harris and the rest of the staff there. Not one unprofessional in the group.

I have so many great things to say about Dr. Matt Resnick at Porters Neck Vet! We rescued a dog a few months ago who had severe stomach issues, later finding out it was food allergies to what we were feeding him. It's been an uphill battle trying to get our dog feeling healthy again, and Dr. Resnick has been there every step of the way, offering us suggestions, guidance, and support whenever needed. We can call Matt at any time and know that he will get back to us that same day. I recommend Dr. Resnick and Porter's Neck Vet to anyone who wants attentive service and the best care for their animals!

We have a 14 year old FIV cat that we rescued out of the woods about 7 years ago. When we initially took him in to this vet, and they told us he was at least 7 with FIV (kitty aids, basically), we were devastated because we had already gotten so attached, but Dr Ron told us with good care and frequent visits he could live a long, happy life. And he was right, 7 years later. He has had some problems, with his teeth ( all of them pulled, at this point), and they never sugar coated anything, but they never sounded like we should feel defeated, either
He had the last (4) of his teeth pulled a couple of months ago, and we took him in every week to check on his progress, which was slow..
Now, He has gained about 2 pounds at least, he is darting up and down the hallway every night, and he is healthy and shiny and fully healed(well, as much as possible) We realize he doesn't have very long, being 14 with FIV, but to look at him now, he's the healthiest he has ever been, and really think he may have one or even two more years, a lot in thanks to these vets. Have a rescue FIV 13-14 year old old cat. We have been coming here for at least 7 years, kitty has had some scary times. Vets did not sugar coat condition, but also are very supportive and are honest about what can be done and what is possible about his condition. He just had his last (4) teeth pulled, and went back every week for follow up , he was healing slowly, but nobody gave up , and now he has gained at least 2 pounds, has started darting up and down the hallway every night again ( hasn't done that for about 3 years), is shiny and somehow grooms himself now to perfection(without teeth, who knew?),have never seen him healthier, thanks to these honest and compassionate vets. Kitty says Hi:)just a tiny note......... please let any pet owner know what can be done, even though they may not look like they have the money. It may be awkward for the people who don't and I know you don't want them to feel guilty, but for the people that do, even though they might not look like it, it could save the pets life:)

They all helped me get a stray dog's vaccinations, heart worm preventative & spay taken care of.--She's still available for adoption as of Oct 2016!--I've also referred a friend and she drives from Jacksonville to get her animals' needs taken care of here because of how much she loves them. John Stawicki of Cape Fear Canine Behavior does Puppy Socialization/Kindergarten classes on every other Saturday that I can sometimes help out with. That is some invaluable information for puppy owners (& anyone can always learn!).

The change in ownership was nearly seamless as a vet in the clinic is the one who bought it and Dr Ron and Dr Sharon are on staff and I see them all the time. They have taken excellent care of all my dogs and have never requested something that wasn't necessary. Honest, compassionate and friendly. All the vets are extremely skilled and always teach me while I am there. And the techs and office staff are awesome. I always recommend this clinic and know they always put my dog's health first.

Although I have loved working with Dr. Ron Harris over the years, the vet/client relationship that once existed has vanished since the hospital was sold to its new owners. Clients are no longer a priority. Long term relationships mean nothing. Billing you for every test possible is a priority. Even after I made the decision to move o to another veterinary practice and asked for my records, I was only given a few. Very disappointing.

We moved to Wilmington last August with our Choc. Lab~ who had been courageously battling lymphoma for about 2 years and had been in remission. We were very fortunate to find Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital, with the kindest, most compassionate Dr. Matt Resnick and his caring staff.
I felt that he loved our dog as much as we did. He went above and beyond to find medications for our beloved ZEUS, and to care for him. When Zeus came out of remission the last time, we knew that it was only a matter of months, but we wanted to give him the best months. When it was time for us to let him go, Dr. Matt came to our apartment and laid right next to Zeus and hugged him and kissed him. He spent a lot of time there that day, and allowed us a long time to say good bye. We miss our Zeus so much, but glad that we had the time that we did with him. He enriched our lives beyond measure. We can't thank Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital enough for all that they did for him. Let it be known, that when the time comes, our next little guy will be getting to know Dr. Matt and his staff too!

If wasn't for all the wonderful loving staff at Porter's neck vet I don't know if my sweet Abbey would still be here! About three months ago my pup received a grim diagnoses of IMHA! But with the excellent care of the all the staff there she is making her way to being one Heathy pup again! They are all so wonderful but a special thanks to Dr. Amy White (now with Eastern Carolina Emergency Vet) which by way they are also amazingly caring there too and vet tech Evan for allowing his dog blue to donate blood and save my girls life! And all the other wonderful Drs and Vet Techs and ladies upfront that have made our journey with IMHA the most pleasant it can possible be! You all rock! I meet Dr Resnick while at his former hospital, he came recommended to me by a friend when I was looking for a second opinion on my dogs cancer diagnoses. Dr Resnick immediately went above and beyond for my boy by meeting him outside in the parking lot first, since he had a fear of vets ( more then the normal). Dr Resnick made me feel hopeful but realistic on the facts of my dogs diagnoses. He made sure to explain everything so that I understood and truly made him self available to me at all times throughout the treatment. He managed to make the impossible - possible, every step of the way. During the course of my dogs cancer treatment Dr Resnick relocated to PNVH, during the transition Dr. Rebecca stepped in to help with his treatments. My boy was a big goofy 13 year old pit bull who hated, literally did not like being in any vets office, but she didn't hesitate to take him by the leash and walk him right into a room to do his follow up and bandage care. She was awesome in stepping into a mid cancer treatment with a somewhat sketchy dog! A year after my boy finally lost his battle with cancer, with much love and support from PNVH, I took my new baby girl right back to PNVH. Followed a few months later by another new family member. She needed a baby brother! So I obviously have a great deal of trust, respect and love for Dr Matt and Dr Rebecca. I have seen Dr Stan for walk in sick call visit and he was just as wonderful. The support staff including all the front desk team members ( Teri you are amazing and my baby girl went from shy coward to running from the car to your desk, she obviously loves you!) and the Vet techs are truly a great group of people. I mean how often are you greeted by a vet tech singing a song with your dogs name in it?! There aren't enough stars for all the stars at PNVH! Thank you all for all you do!!

I love this practice! They took great care with my family and I when we took my cat there. And when it came time to send him to heaven and put him out of pain out vet was so sweet and understanding, she really cared. She even cried with us, she knew it was a sad time. The vets here really care, pets are more than just pets they are family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I have 3 dogs (all different ages, breeds and sizes) and going to the vet is a routine thing for us. When I moved to Wilmington 6 years ago I tried 2 other vets before hearing about PNVH. Those other vets were ok but I wanted more than ok. My first visit to PNVH was with Dr. Sharon Harris who won me over right from the start. She treated my dog like her own and had a very calming nature about her that put both me and the dog at ease. Because she works only part-time, we saw other vets in the practice. Dr. Ron is top notch and takes a conservative approach, which I like. Unlike other vets that I've seen, he doesn't order unnecessary tests and will work with your budget when it comes to treatments and procedures. He has always been prompt at returning my calls and never makes me feel as if I'm burdening him or bothering him with my questions. He makes ample time for his clients. Dr. Rebecca Simmons Is our primary Vet for all 3 of our dogs. She is who we ask to see, will wait to see and trust with anything and everything relating to our animals. She has a wonderful, sunny disposition and is easy to talk to. I honestly couldn't ask for more from any veterinarian. I could rave on and on about her but the bottom line here is I've never had a bad experience with any of the vets that I've seen at this practice. I like different things about each of them but my husband and I both prefer Dr. Simmons. We also think very highly of Ashley who is a technician that commonly assists on our visits. The only potential negative that I could possibly see in this practice is a frequent change in front office staff but, that's not uncommon with any practice. It's never once been a deterrent for me and I feel comfortable with the staff they have now. I honestly cannot imagine taking my animals anywhere else.

We have been taking our dogs to Porter's Neck for over twelve years. Dr. Rebecca and Dr. Amy are two of the most capable and loving vets I have ever known. They have held our hands through the lives of our four dogs (two of which have passed on at ages 14 and 16). I have no doubt that the longevity and happiness of our pups is in great part to the care that we have received at Porter's Neck. We now live in Myrtle Grove but without hesitation are willing to pass by a dozen veterinary offices to go to Porter's Neck. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone that loves their pets and wants them to receive true "family style" care.

Dr. Rebecca is a star as far as we're concerned. She is gentle and thorough and seems to genuinely care about Tucker and us. My only dissatisfaction is the wait time. No matter when the appointment is, you wait. First you wait to be called into an exam room where a very professional tech discusses the reason for the visit. He/she leaves and says the doctor will be right in. And then you wait. And sometimes you wait, and wait, and wait. I don't understand this. We think Rebecca is well worth waiting for, but by the time Tucker sees her he is more than ready to leave.

I struggled with my star rating on this one and here's why. I love Doctor Ron. He will do anything it takes to help your pet and really knows everything. A true expert in vet medicine. His "bedside manner" with our cats and dog has been terrific, they almost seem to relax around him once he touches them.They also have some very good vet techs, and some not so good vet techs. I realize people have bad days and things going on outside of the workplace. Leave it in the parking lot! This place is expensive and I don't want to deal with a dismissive or insolent vet tech!The front desk staff MUST improve. They pretend to be distracted or uninterested, or simply don't care about the customers. Most of the times I've been there they almost seem annoyed at the presence of customers. I've never understood it.We drive past a hundred vets to go there and once you meet Doctor Ron, you will know why.Update 3/17. After numerous visits since my original review I have to say customer service has improved a lot! The front desk folks and the techs are terrific. Doctor Ron is still as wonderful as he has always been.So I added another star to my review.

Always a vet clinic that is truly interested in the health and well being of our pets. I can't imagine trusting anyone else. Thank Sharon for jumping in today. I am still a little baffled by the outcome. But I don't mind that my dogs continue to defy the laws of medicine. All the vets here are so aware and always try to do their absolute best and aren't just looking for ways for you to spend your money. I can't say thank you guys enough for all the help and hope you have given my own personal dogs. I would never hesitate to refer you. I tell people all the time you don't choose your own doctor just because they are right down the street why do your choose your vet that way. Pick a vet who really cares, knows their stuff and became a vet to save animals because they love animals not because they want to do every test under the sun just to spend your money. Honest, huge hearts and just good people. Thank you all.

Our Yorkshire Terrier, Lexie got very sick and the care she received at Porters Neck Vet was exceptional. The entire staff was professional, kind, caring and helpful. But special mention has to be made of Dr. Ron. He took the time to explain everything to us, was patient with our questions and even came in the next day (on his day off) to do x-rays and administer fluids. We called several times to check on her and each time Dr. Ron took the time to talk to us himself and give us updates. Lexie is well now and we feel it is due to the excellent care that she received at Porters Neck Vet from Dr. Ron and his staff.

We love this vet. All of the employees are very caring and they are always available to fit us in whenever we have an emergency or just need to see the vet quickly. We use the vet for both annual checks and vaccinations, as well as a few surgeries. They are great with our older dogs.We have been using this vet for the past four years and we are extremely happy with it!

These guys are great! We have been going to them for years. They first took us when our dog was very sick, in pain and our normal vet (WBPH) wouldn't get to us until the following week. When we had to make the painful decision to put our dog down, Dr. Harris, let us stay and visit with our dog for hours, checking in on us - he never rushed us, was very compassionate and supportive during an extremely difficult time. Over the past 7 years, they have continued to help us with all of our pets with friendly and personable service - through routine exams and special emergency situations. You may have to wait at times, but you get that time back with them when it is your turn. The entire staff is nice from receptionist, to techs, to the 4 vets. Not sure why the other review is so negative - sounds like just a bad day.

This is by far the worst experience we have ever had at a veterinary hospital. We took our cocker spaniel there for a skin condition. After repeated visits and ultimatley failing to eliminate the problem, we were frustrated. This on top of a significant charge for each visit. Dr. Harris and I almost came to blows as he displayed his defiance. His assistant, who looks like one of the clowns on the Star News mugshots, kept picking up the phone saying I am going to call 911. Someone needs to call 911 on this joke of a veterinarian.
