We have a 14 year old FIV cat that we rescued out of the woods about 7 years ago. When we initially took him in to this vet, and they told us he was at least 7 with FIV (kitty aids, basically), we were devastated because we had already gotten so attached, but Dr Ron told us with good care and frequent visits he could live a long, happy life. And he was right, 7 years later. He has had some problems, with his teeth ( all of them pulled, at this point), and they never sugar coated anything, but they never sounded like we should feel defeated, either
He had the last (4) of his teeth pulled a couple of months ago, and we took him in every week to check on his progress, which was slow..
Now, He has gained about 2 pounds at least, he is darting up and down the hallway every night, and he is healthy and shiny and fully healed(well, as much as possible) We realize he doesn't have very long, being 14 with FIV, but to look at him now, he's the healthiest he has ever been, and really think he may have one or even two more years, a lot in thanks to these vets. Thanks, from Kitty:) Read Less
