Arcadia Veterinary Hospital

Winston-Salem, North Carolina
General Info
Pet owners in Winston-Salem know they can rely on Arcadia Veterinary Hospital when the unexpected happens or subtle issues require attention. A veterinarian visit typically begins with a discussion regarding any changes and peculiarities in the pet’s behavior and how well it adjusts to its household routines. Examinations assess not only the dental condition but also monitor breathing patterns, skin elasticity, and joint flexibility. They also evaluate posture and mood for any deviations. Veterinarians study such symptoms as itching, toy disinterest, movement slowdown, and appetite change to develop the first care outline. Arcadia Veterinary Hospital offers services such as vaccinations, diagnostics, and allergy and skin support. They also provide senior pet planning, dental evaluations, and breed-specific risk assessment. Recommendations align with owner and pet schedules by staggering demands during busy periods and linking treatments to pet activity patterns. Factors like seasonality, housing setup, diet trends, and social interactions are also noteworthy. This is especially true for pets living in homes with children or those that are seniors. Plans are created based on the pet’s needs and the family’s abilities, and they evolve as behavior medication effects and energy levels change over time. Regular visits to a veterinarian allow adjusting medical recommendations, identifying the overlooked health issues, and giving pet owners specific guidelines on managing their pets without guesswork. Arcadia Veterinary Hospital empowers pet families throughout Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to embrace every care stage by establishing routines that elicit early response and consistent adaptation. Arcadia Veterinary Hospital provides the following services: Nutritional Counseling, Orthopedic Surgery, Boarding, Microchipping, Pain Management, Pocket Pet Care, Diagnostics, Grooming, Surgery and Dental Care. Thanks to this diversity, local pet owners in Winston-Salem and other nearby areas can get access to everything from standard pet checkups to advanced procedures. Our clinic has been assisting local pet owners in ensuring the health and comfort of their beloved companions throughout their lives.

When I adopted a new calico cat from the local humane society, I took her into Arcadia for a wellness check. I thought it was absolutely wonderful that they gave me the check for free because they partner with the humane society. However, I spoke with the vet about some behavior concerns hoping for some tips on how to help my new cat feel less stressed. She proceeded to tell me that almost all cats of her type are aggressive, and that I should just take her back to the humane society because she won't change. Sorry, but I thought the comment was arrogant and unhelpful. As I was not looking to be told to give up. I was seeking guidence from someone who knows more about cats than myself. Unfortunately, I will seek help elseware from now on. Read Less

this is THE worst vet I have experienced!I went in with my shot records as we just moved across country. they asked "have they had shots" me: "yes" they never looked at their records.THEN we were there for a broken toenail and to have nails clipped on both dogs. 4lb maltipoo and 7lb chihuahua-maltese. I told them the Chihuahua is nippy but scared and has a broken nail. they didn't acknowledge what I said. The Vet tech was Rae. She grabbed him roughly from behind, didn't ask his name, and grabbed his feet. he tried to nip so she MUZZLED him! he's tiny!!!! and he had a full on panic attack! they didn't fix the broken nail and she said maybe 3 words to me! I will NEVER go back and I would recommend no one go. They're horrible, rough, and not kind to animals!!!!!! he has been upset and shaking all afternoon bc of Rae's roughness with him. I am used to a kind gentle vet in LA who took amazing care of my dogs and cats and always spent time holding and petting first. Otto never nipped and was so calm. I cried bc I miss my vet and I cannot believe they induced such a bad panic attack in my dog. Horrible people. Read Less

3 years ago this month, I adopted a dachshund puppy who had several serious medical conditions that were making his poor little life miserable. The veterinarians at Arcadia took very thorough tests and showed real concern to help my fur baby out. Within a month of consistent care, medicine and love, he was completely healed and looking greater than ever. I trust this veterinary hospital and I believe they truly love the animals they care for. I rated them "very good" instead of "excellent" only because the location can be a bit difficult to get to and the waiting room is quite small. However - the knowledge and overall dynamic make up for it. Our last visit was December 2012, and after the visit, the reception gave my fur baby a squeaky toy and a bag of treats as a holiday gift. They are really great, I highly recommend them! Read Less

They are always ready to help me in any emergency. I also use the groomer at Arcadia. Carol is very knowledgable and talented, she really cares for my babies, at a very fair price I might add. Other family members use Arcadia and have always had great results. I can not recommend Arcadia enough Read Less

Read Less

My dogs and cats not only are given excellent care at Arcadia, but their emotional needs are met as well. We have a very old, grumpy, mut. They treat him as if he just won the Westminster Dog Show. They talk to him, love on him and give him royal treatment. And all that is aside from the excellent medical care. I recommend the Arcadia Veterinary Hospital highly. Very competent and very caring. Read Less

Great vet services here.  We take our kitties here for check-ups, and if you live in the vicinity of Peters Creek Parkway and the Davidson line, this is probably the place to go.The only thing that I probably would say worries me here would be an emergency line.  I believe they have a page out service, but I never did check and there really isn't a 911 for pets that I know of.   In any case.... they're also one of the cheaper boarding places that we've found when we need to board our kitties when going on vacation.
