I have an appointment today for my horses. I've never been there before so I was asking questions about parking and where to bring them or if I should tie them to the trailer and wait. Vets usually come to me, so I did not know this information. The receptionist was SO RUDE! Spoke to me like I was stupid asking those questions and then instead of saying "See you then", "Thanks for calling", or "Good bye", I got an "Uh-Huh" and she hung up. How terribly rude. I will update this when I return later this afternoon. UPDATE: Appointment went well. Dr' Holt and his vet tech are really great people. Waited 45 minutes outside, but I think there was a dog emergency as I saw one be carried in, and it gave the boys time to calm themselves from the drive over. Apparently there's a place out back where it's cooler and under cover. That would have been nice to know... ahem... receptionist. Read Less

Killed my dog with Parvo; didn't tell me he was dying. This is how it unfolded: 1) took a 100% outside older dog to get neutered 2) while there, he was exposed to PARVO. I guess based upon what I know of lazy staff... sterilizing and cleaning recovery pens is marginal. How did we figure out it was PARVO and when the exposure occurred? 3) after neutering and being home a few days, he became really stiff to walk and howled in pain if his abdomen was touched anywhere. his nose also was full of crusty snot. took him back and they just say "HE HAS A COLD" 4) brought him back next day for observation as he was OBVIOUSLY not with cold 5) while he lay there dying in his kennel on the floor, alone and cold... THEY NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL ME. Guess they don't monitor the dogs in the kennel? Anyway, they confirmed it was indeed parvo at this point. I guess they didn't want to be liable since they clearly caused the dog to be exposed to parvo. So no "I'm sorry" or anything like that. And a few months later, a reminder postcard in the mail to get him vaccinated. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS THERE. FULL OF DISEASE. And completely clueless/rude staff. They should stick to horses & cats I guess. Contrast this with the clinic at Pollywood... I lost another dog a few years later due to unknown issues, and the entire staff signed a sympathy card and both doctors expressed apologies at not being able to save her. Read Less

HORRIBLE!!!! Took my dog in for an ear trim... one ear is bigger than the other but they were healing great until I took her back for her rewrapping because his bandages kept coming off. Well he "cleaned them" and rebandaged them while they were wet which was obvious considering my dogs ears were soapy when the bandages came off... the staff are rude and they will fabricate charges such as I was told the trim price would include: anastetic, trim, over night stay and medication... upon pick up was told medication was not included and I would have to pay an additional amount... then at the rewrapping I was told he wanted to clean them and needed to use a mild anastetic I then asked will that cost anything he replied no then when I went to schedule my next appointment the receptionist, who acts like she is above you in every way, told me I was to pay $27 I then told her I was not paying it considering the doctor had said it was free she then puffed up and slammed things around and rolled her eyes at me. So vet work... HORRIBLE!! Communication on prices obviously doesn't happen or else the stuck up thing who scrunched up her leather bag looking face everytime I spoke to her would've known. Staff is rude as heck and acts like you are trash and like ur pet has a contractable disease by acting that they'd rather not touch them. I DO NOT BY ANY MEANS RECOMEND THIS VET!!!! Took my daughters cat to this vet. He was choking due to a swollen gland. They treated it with antibiotics and refused to release him. Had to play games with them for 2 days and when my wife and daughter went to pick up the cat they demanded over 200 dollars for the release of the cat. They had no consent or authorization. They just kept the cat. My wife offered to pay the bill on Friday. 4 days later. We explained that we had no way to budget for this as it was not a routine visit but an unforeseen situation. By Friday the bill will exceed 400 dollars. I did check North Carolina guidelines and statues for veterinarians invoking liens on pets for the sole purpose of obtaining payment for medical treatment and discovered that North Carolina dos not permit this practice. In my mind this is theft! My Daughter suffers severe anxiety dis orders and was unable to participate in conventional education and had to be home bound school. This cat was being used as a therapy cat and my daughter is very despondent over the theft of her beloved cat. Read Less
