Took my very nervous and under socialized kitty here today and I’m so so thankful for Dr. Magenau and Zach! They went slowly with her and made her feel as comfortable as they could! So thankful for the care they gave her for her exam today and her two booster shots! I can’t thank them enough! Most places would have restrained her or used force with her because of how nervous and scared she is, but the compassion and love they showed her made me so happy I could cry! They went in detail with every step that they could and explained everything from A to Z with me and it means the world to me. A beautiful office, clean floors, and smells wonderful when you walk in! Every staff member is so kind and compassionate. Thank you thank you. Reina will be coming back for years and years! Thank you so much. I can’t say it enough thank you!

We brought our kitten here for vaccinations, microchip and neuter. The staff were all very gentle and caring toward our baby. All told, it was rather more expensive than we expected. But well worth it. The waiting area and patient rooms were very clean. Appointment times were respected and we received a call as soon as surgery was complete, letting us know that our pet was recovering nicely. A few hours home, if he is in any pain, it doesn't show. We will definitely be back, and our cat will be a long term patient here. Overall a good experience.

All she did I was wrote something down and said we make sure you will get them when you come and get the ashes. Well I picked up the ashes and and there was no collar or leash. It was the same lady hand me the ashes and I asked where is the collar and leash and she what? I told her that you promised me that you would have the collar and leash here when I came back. So she look by her desk and then left for 10 Min’s and came back there is no collar or leash. Now they will no respond to my email asking about them.

The consummate salesman they are, asked my wife who dropped our puppy off, if she would like to add a number of other tests to the bill and not let her know that it not part of the original quote. That being said the bill was over $100.00 more than originally quoted. Watch your wallets people, we will never go there again.

They were with me through losing my cat, which was an incredibly difficult day for me. The vet and tech who helped me were very compassionate, went over 3 options with me and stayed with me through everything. I'm very thankful I went to them and will definitely bring my future pets there. A week after losing my cat they sent me a card with his paw print in it which was such a thoughtful, beautiful gesture.

We've been going to Southgate since it opened in 1994, or maybe just shortly thereafter. We couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the way our cats have been treated. (In the early 90s we began seeing Dr. Kurtyka in Moorhead who came highly recommended as she specialized in treating cats. When she quit her Moorhead practice she was the one who recommended Southgate to us.) ALL of the staff at Southgate is always super friendly. The techs know what they're doing and they're always willing to answer our questions when we call. We never feel rushed through an appointment by the techs or doctors, who are both willing to answer any and all questions we have. I trust these people completely and I know our cats are in excellent hands with them. I always recommend Southgate to anyone, whether they have a dog, cat or any other critter.

I am so thankful for the staff at Southgate! They have gone above and beyond to keep the animals in my family my extended family safe, healthy, and comfortable. I have had privilege of working with them over the past year on a multitude of of things both routine and urgent: canine and feline dental care, canine injury and infection, and most recently the heart wrenching duty of kindly ending the suffering of 2 beloved pets. The staff have been helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive during all interactions. A simple thank you doesn't come close to expressing how much the compassionate work of the Southgate team has meant to my family. Thank you all!

Very unprofessional. Snide. Rude. Say one thing do another. Don't call back till end of day (OR only when you call them)when there is no time to schedule that day if need be. Rare to speak to the vet him/herself. Expensive. Say they will call the next day and don't. Won't give direct answers over the phone aka get the run around. When you ask for med documents to be sent to another vet office because the other site can see you sooner you get a letter from them telling you your account has been marked inactive and pretty much that they won't see your animals anymore.

My husband and I took our dog here because we found a lump under her chin by her jaw. We had to call 3 times before they answered the phone ; when they answered they did get us in the same day. We had a pretty long wait , when we met the doctor we were presented with a high priced treatment plan. I was not worried about the money but I had an issue when they told we they would see what they would do today bc it's 410 and we close at 530. They did do a few tests and the doctor came back with no information in writing and just starting using very large veteirnarian verbage that the normal pet owner wouldn't know. When I asked for the notes in writing and X-rays before I left I was told we close in 15 minutes so we will just email you that. I demanded I get the two illness they thought it would be in writing the vet tech wrote it down on a sticky note and told me to go pay 364 dollars for what I got done. When I went to pay the woman in front of me was upset and requesting her pets information be moved to a different vet. As a dog mom I think of my dog as family and as my kid. I wish this vet and office would look at it the same. My dog is not dollar signs it's a part of my family. I want my notes and X-rays and the test results u owe me and we won't ever be back.

We are always greeted with friendly staff, and walked through our charges with explanations. We are contacted throughout procedures and well informed throughout procedures performed. We couldn't ask for better medical providers for Bear and Fikus.

I took my elderly dog here several times, and each time the vet's and assistants were very kind, compassionate, and most importantly informative. Prices were good, maybe even typically a little less than what I expected each time up to and including the end.
I just had my old man dog put down here, and, though I mourn his loss, I felt obligated to come on here and write a positive review. They were very understanding, explained the process, sympathized with my pain, and were overall exceptional in their work despite the unpleasant circumstance. Definitely 5/5.

Southgate was an affordable price to take our 14 week old pup "Gus" for his first vet visit with us (he's a rescue). Facility was clean, everyone was very friendly, and the doctor appeared to be knowledgeable. Our dog was chewing his legs and tail a bit much and also had a ton of discharge from his nose due to events that happened before he was rescued, and the doctor addressed all of our concerns and spoke to them. It gave us a lot of peace of mind, even though it may not have been a "necessary" vet visit. As pet owners know, nothing about owning a pet is cheap, but this place, at least as far as I know, is by far the most affordable.

They went above and beyond any expectation I had for what it was going to be like to have to watch her eyes close for the last time. I am an owner of 4 animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) and I go to Southgate for all of my animals needs. They have a wonderful staff from the front receptionist to the doctors. Technicians are always on hand to answer my questions. My animals have had routine vaccination appointments to major surgeries at this clinic/hospital and I will always trust the Southgate staff with any of my animals!!

We brought our kitten here for vaccinations, microchip and neuter. The staff were all very gentle and caring toward our baby. All told, it was rather more expensive than we expected. But well worth it. The waiting area and patient rooms were very clean. Appointment times were respected and we received a call as soon as surgery was complete, letting us know that our pet was recovering nicely. A few hours home, if he is in any pain, it doesn't show. We will definitely be back, and our cat will be a long term patient here. Overall a good experience.

All she did I was wrote something down and said we make sure you will get them when you come and get the ashes. Well I picked up the ashes and and there was no collar or leash. It was the same lady hand me the ashes and I asked where is the collar and leash and she what? I told her that you promised me that you would have the collar and leash here when I came back. So she look by her desk and then left for 10 Min’s and came back there is no collar or leash. Now they will no respond to my email asking about them.

The consummate salesman they are, asked my wife who dropped our puppy off, if she would like to add a number of other tests to the bill and not let her know that it not part of the original quote. That being said the bill was over $100.00 more than originally quoted. Watch your wallets people, we will never go there again.

They were with me through losing my cat, which was an incredibly difficult day for me. The vet and tech who helped me were very compassionate, went over 3 options with me and stayed with me through everything. I'm very thankful I went to them and will definitely bring my future pets there. A week after losing my cat they sent me a card with his paw print in it which was such a thoughtful, beautiful gesture.

We've been going to Southgate since it opened in 1994, or maybe just shortly thereafter. We couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the way our cats have been treated. (In the early 90s we began seeing Dr. Kurtyka in Moorhead who came highly recommended as she specialized in treating cats. When she quit her Moorhead practice she was the one who recommended Southgate to us.) ALL of the staff at Southgate is always super friendly. The techs know what they're doing and they're always willing to answer our questions when we call. We never feel rushed through an appointment by the techs or doctors, who are both willing to answer any and all questions we have. I trust these people completely and I know our cats are in excellent hands with them. I always recommend Southgate to anyone, whether they have a dog, cat or any other critter.

I am so thankful for the staff at Southgate! They have gone above and beyond to keep the animals in my family my extended family safe, healthy, and comfortable. I have had privilege of working with them over the past year on a multitude of of things both routine and urgent: canine and feline dental care, canine injury and infection, and most recently the heart wrenching duty of kindly ending the suffering of 2 beloved pets. The staff have been helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive during all interactions. A simple thank you doesn't come close to expressing how much the compassionate work of the Southgate team has meant to my family. Thank you all!

Very unprofessional. Snide. Rude. Say one thing do another. Don't call back till end of day (OR only when you call them)when there is no time to schedule that day if need be. Rare to speak to the vet him/herself. Expensive. Say they will call the next day and don't. Won't give direct answers over the phone aka get the run around. When you ask for med documents to be sent to another vet office because the other site can see you sooner you get a letter from them telling you your account has been marked inactive and pretty much that they won't see your animals anymore.

My husband and I took our dog here because we found a lump under her chin by her jaw. We had to call 3 times before they answered the phone ; when they answered they did get us in the same day. We had a pretty long wait , when we met the doctor we were presented with a high priced treatment plan. I was not worried about the money but I had an issue when they told we they would see what they would do today bc it's 410 and we close at 530. They did do a few tests and the doctor came back with no information in writing and just starting using very large veteirnarian verbage that the normal pet owner wouldn't know. When I asked for the notes in writing and X-rays before I left I was told we close in 15 minutes so we will just email you that. I demanded I get the two illness they thought it would be in writing the vet tech wrote it down on a sticky note and told me to go pay 364 dollars for what I got done. When I went to pay the woman in front of me was upset and requesting her pets information be moved to a different vet. As a dog mom I think of my dog as family and as my kid. I wish this vet and office would look at it the same. My dog is not dollar signs it's a part of my family. I want my notes and X-rays and the test results u owe me and we won't ever be back.

We are always greeted with friendly staff, and walked through our charges with explanations. We are contacted throughout procedures and well informed throughout procedures performed. We couldn't ask for better medical providers for Bear and Fikus.

I took my elderly dog here several times, and each time the vet's and assistants were very kind, compassionate, and most importantly informative. Prices were good, maybe even typically a little less than what I expected each time up to and including the end.
I just had my old man dog put down here, and, though I mourn his loss, I felt obligated to come on here and write a positive review. They were very understanding, explained the process, sympathized with my pain, and were overall exceptional in their work despite the unpleasant circumstance. Definitely 5/5.

Southgate was an affordable price to take our 14 week old pup "Gus" for his first vet visit with us (he's a rescue). Facility was clean, everyone was very friendly, and the doctor appeared to be knowledgeable. Our dog was chewing his legs and tail a bit much and also had a ton of discharge from his nose due to events that happened before he was rescued, and the doctor addressed all of our concerns and spoke to them. It gave us a lot of peace of mind, even though it may not have been a "necessary" vet visit. As pet owners know, nothing about owning a pet is cheap, but this place, at least as far as I know, is by far the most affordable.

I recently had to say goodbye to part of my family, pets are so much more than just animals. Dr. Borud and Karin were so amazing in every way possible. They went above and beyond any expectation I had for what it was going to be like to have to watch her eyes close for the last time. Thank you so much for making an extremely hard day a little more bearable. I will recommend everyone I know to use Southgate for all their pet needs.

I am an owner of 4 animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) and I go to Southgate for all of my animals needs. They have a wonderful staff from the front receptionist to the doctors. Technicians are always on hand to answer my questions. My animals have had routine vaccination appointments to major surgeries at this clinic/hospital and I will always trust the Southgate staff with any of my animals!!
