This place has the WORST CUSTOMER interaction because I can not use the word service and Valley Vet in the same sentence! I feel absolutely horrible that I have referred my friends to place terrible place! The entire staff is incompetent! Please do not take your love one there! I do not write reviews, however I have told them face to face with the problems that I have encountered with there company and the refused to make it right or act as if it was even a problem! Dr Wendy is the best vet we've ever taken a pet to. We recently had to put down our 11 year old collie/shepherd mix and Dr Wendy made the experience as easy on us as possible. We got another dog and the only vet she will see is Dr Wendy!!!!! Read Less

Very friendly staff. Waiting room gets crowded quickly. Our appointment was great. The vet was very helpful and tried to avoid expensive tests until we knew more about our cats and eliminated simpler, easier solutions. I was very happy with this approach. Read Less

My cat max had a bad ear infection and hadn’t been to the vet in a year or so, the staff was helpful and friendly. Since I cannot afford all that he requires in medical treatment, they helped narrow down what was best to take care of immediately. He is looking much better. Thank you Read Less

On May 3, We had to take our dear beloved kitty to Dr. Wendy at Valley to cross the Rainbow Bridge. The doctor and staff couldn't have been more professional or compassionate. Everyone at Valley Animal Hospital is wonderful with both my dog (and cats) and myself. Drs Meves and Springer are both great as well as the BEST gal vet tech in red scrubs. My dog, Panda, got treated so great, got so much special attention, I teased Panda all night after our visit about " all the new friends " she made. I can honestly say that there is no other place in the Akron area where I would rather take my dogs. Everyone on the staff is amazing - from the receptionists to the vet techs to the doctors. They are all patient and caring individuals who make a genuine effort to get to know my animals and tailor the appointments to my dogs' needs (my one dog has severe anxiety and they know how to treat her to put her at ease). During emergency situations (during normal business hours), they have made arrangements that I can bring my dogs in to have them checked out ASAP. When my dachshund got sick last year, Dr. Springer was able to see her that day and ran thorough tests to see what the issue was and she referred us to an amazing specialist in the area for treatment. I've also found that their prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the service that they provide (way better than a certain vet's office in Stow that shall not be named). I've referred all my friends to Valley Animal Hospital & will continue to if they are looking for a vet. Read Less

The front desk people and vet techs are so amazing and nice (which I gave 2 stars for them). But one of the doctor was the rudest! He wouldn't let me talk while we were on the phone, didn't understand my question (because he kept cutting me off and interrupting me), then got frustrated with me because he didn't understand my question (again he kept interrupting me on the phone) and finally got fed up and said he was busy (which I understand but if he would of just listened in the first place the conversation wouldn't have lasted as long as it did) and promptly hung up on me. Then called my boyfriend not me to apologize. I understand that they are busy but if you can't have the patience to talk to your patients then it's a serious problem. Not taking my pet there any more!!!!! Told me my cat could wait till feb to get her teeth clean (this was in october) but by the time feb came she ended up loosing 3 teeth and told me her teeth were so dirty and gums were so red and all this was causing her pain. Tell me how this gets overlooked during a checkup that lasts about 45-30 but the rude doctor above can find a loose tooth in 15 mins and this entire time my cat could of been in pain. When my dog got hit by a car, we had taken him to Metropolitan Animal Hospital. They offered no payment plans and charged us around $700 a DAY and wanted thousands for the procedure needed to properly set his fractures. Because of this we researched other nearby animal hospitals, which is how we found Valley. They said they understand that very few people don't just have thousands of dollars lying around, and they'd be willing to care for him until we set up a payment plan and put down about $2,000. They treated our dog, Samson, with so much care and love as if he were their own. They were so understanding and gracious andme and my family really can't thank them enough. Thank you, Valley, for saving Sam's life! Our final bill was only around $6,300 whereas it would have been around $15k at Metropolitan. Read Less

My boyfriend and I had to put our elderly dog down about a month ago and came here on a friend's suggestion. The vet was very kind and allowed us all the time we needed. Today we received by surprise a sweet card and inside was an inked print of our Emma Girl's paw. My eyes are still watering. I will continue to bring my other dog Kirra here regularly now. It's been a few months since I was here, but as I search for somewhere to take my cats for a yearly check up, I stumbled back this way. Wondering why I am not nearly as in love as everyone else is with this place. If you have a cat who is scared of strangers, DONT bring him/her here. I brought in my boy because he had some lumps on his back. While the receptionists were incredibly friendly, my boy was scared by the dogs in the wait room. Once I was called back, I FINALLY coaxed him out of his carrier, and he wasn't allowed to roam the small room to calm himself, and we all know cats need to explore. Anyway, the vet could not do an exam because my cat just wasn't having it, without bothering to try steel gloves like they do at other vets. Just shrugged and said sorry. She did manage to get a comb thru him to tell me he needs flea treated, which was part of why I brought him - but she made me feel like a total idiot for him having them. She took a wild guess on his lumps and prescribed an allergy medication, which didn't work. I also spent an outrageous amount on the flea treatment... So 5 minutes and $175 later, I left without an answer of what I came there for besides "Come back again (and pay again) and we will sedate him." I will be on the lookout for a vet who will take the time instead of shoving me out the door empty handed and with an empty wallet.Read Less

I have had a dog almost my entire life and have visited a number of veterinarians over the years. The past few years we chose to go to Valley Animal Hospital and Dr. Grguric. We have never been so pleased with the care and attention given to our dogs. The moment you walk through the door the staff is courteous and kind to not only the animals (calling them by name) but to the owners as well. They even have a dry erase board decorated in a different pattern each day w/ the animals names who will be seen that day. This is the personal touch that makes our visits special.Dr. Grguric is patient with us as we "try" to describe what our dog is feeling or how they hurt themselves. He goes the extra mile to be sure he has checked all the problem areas- even some that aren't problem areas before he gives his diagnosis. Following the diagnosis or prognosis we get to go back to the reception area to pay and wait for any medications and the staff are extremely kind, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. I have and will continue to recommend Valley Animal Hospital to all my friends and family! Read Less

All of the staff was very considerate and welcoming. They clearly all dearly love animals. Dr. Meves was patient with me as a concerned cat mom with a ton of questions. He obviously loves his job and cares about both animals and their pet parents! It's important as a veterinarian to remember you are also dealing with humans who need calming and reassurance. He made both my kitty and I feel better. The business is willing to work with emergencies and get you in as soon as possible. They were the only place that was willing to take us in when an emergency arose. This was my first visit and I will be coming here in the future for routine checkups and emergencies (although hopefully there will not be any) Read Less

We've been bringing all of our pets to Valley Animal Hospital for over a decade (since we've moved to the area).  The staff is organized and takes their time with your furry friend.  They are great about answering all of your questions.  When we had to put down one of our senior Labs, they were very understanding and made the whole process as easy as possible for us.  We appreciated their sensitivity.  Their prices are pretty reasonable, too.  Though I live part of the year in Florida, I bring my pup back to the Valley for all of her schedule-able check-ups. Valley has taken wonderful care of all our pets. They helped us manage our Siberian Husky, Dakota's diabetes, our other husky Montgomery's lymphoma and keep him comfortable, and took care of their daughter who had breast cancer. Now they are taking amazing care of Lulu after being hit by a car last week. The love and compassion they always show is incredible. They are our angels. DO NOT GO HERE!They're rude, incompetent and deserve zero stars on here!1. They gave my dogs medicine to me and I went home. The pill bottle was labeled 75 mg which is the proper dosage, when I opened up the bottle the pills inside were labelled 100 mg. I of course did a quick internet search to find out they had in fact put the wrong pills in the wrong bottle. Due to their incompetency I decided to call them and explain the issue and tell them I wanted a refund which then leads us to the next issue. 2. When I went back for a refund and for them to give me the prescription on paper to take somewhere else to be filled they rudely told me "you can't get them at any other pharmacy". I said I KNOW I can get it elsewhere. So after some more arguing the pharmacist finally wrote the prescription and I DID get the medicine somewhere else even though I couldn't "get them at any other pharmacy" according to them. Which the pharmacy I went to was cheaper and put the correct pills in the correct bottle the first time!3. They incorrectly diagnosed my dog with a thyroid issue...She actually had diabetes which she was diagnosed and treated for less than 3 weeks after her visit here. Their vet did not EVEN think to test her for diabetes, or mention it instead all he could ramble about was thyroid or Cushions disease. Given the dog was shaking, had cataracts which the vet specifically said "no she doesn't have cataracts" when we asked, I'd say he's as incompetent as their pharmacist...They're incompetent and extremely rude, specifically Dr. Meves. Possibly the other veterinarians are competent in the building but he almost costed us our dogs life by his incorrect groundless diagnosis. Their pharmacist also almost costed us her life with their negelence to check what pills they put in the bottle. I will never go back...and I will continue to post my review everywhere so people are aware! Read Less

Started coming here when I got my 2nd dog. Been here a few times Great place clean and neat. lady's at front desk are always really nice! Never have to wait long in waiting area no more than 10-15min. which is great!.. i have personally only been here for my puppy's first visits for check ups and shots ..everyone on staff is very nice and good to talk to...There are a few doctors here I always see Dr.G he's so comprehensive very caring knowledgeable and patient! I live about 45min away from them but I really enjoy the dr. as well as the staff next visit I will be transferring doctors for my older dog to start coming here as well!
