I have been going to another vet for years for my dogs, guinea pigs and cat. Literally between meds and check-ups and god forbid Illness have spent a damn fortune with them. cat needed help last week, the clinic we had been going to didn’t have any time for us for four days! We called Avon animal hospital and even tho they had NEVER seen us before, they scheduled us with ONE HOUR- of the call! Upon arriving I was greeting by a friendly staff. It was a cozy and warm atmosphere. Our cat was seen by Dr. Olive- she was FAST and efficient, on top of kind and friendly. I will from

Dr Putkonen is wonderful. He called us on his off days to check up on our sick chickens (he diagnosed them with lead poisoning just on some neurological issues he noticed and of course a blood test). ...
Dr Putkonen is wonderful. He called us on his off days to check up on our sick chickens (he diagnosed them with lead poisoning just on some neurological issues he noticed and of course a blood test). Took us a while to figure out what was wrong with them until we saw Dr Putkonen and he figured it out right away. Found out the chickens were picking at the old garage paint that we have since fixed. Now we have a bunch of pet chickens. Can't say enough good things about the clinic. Staff is wonderful

Dr Putkonen is wonderful. He called us on his off days to check up on our sick chickens (he diagnosed them with lead poisoning just on some neurological issues he noticed and of course a blood test). Took us a while to figure out what was wrong with them until we saw Dr Putkonen and he figured it out right away. Found out the chickens were picking at the old garage paint that we have since fixed. Now we have a bunch of pet chickens. Can't say enough good things about the clinic. Staff is wonderful

I've been here once for a bird and once for a snake. Both times my animals were seen by Dr. Martti Putkonen. He is gentle and honest. I felt that my animals were in good hands. When I first got my bird he told me stories and offered me advice. He is a genuinely kind guy.
Though the staff is excellent the facility is small, so I'd arrive only a couple minutes early so it's not crowded at any point.

Dr Poling is the main vet I see for both of my Standard Schnauzers. She has been treating Otto for 10 years. However any of the vets at this practice are very competent, caring and professional. Do not pay any attention to the negative reviews as with anything, there is no such thing as an exact science. These vets care for your pets as if they were their own. They treat a wide array of animals; if you bring your furry loved one here, you'll be in good hands. I love them all!

I just need to commend Dr. Putkonen. I came in this morning with my bunny who was critically ill. I had a feeling upon walking into the clinic that my bunny had passed before I even got in the door :( I was greeted by a welcoming staff, who were compassionate, quick and empathetic when I realized he had in fact passed. They called Dr. Putkonen in immediately to confirm. Knowing nothing of my bunny's history (I had been to three different emergency vet clinics in the last 12 hrs where no one would/could help me with my "exotic" animal) since my husband had literally found their number earlier that morning, he came in, confirmed my bunny had passed and began to ask me questions about him. When I told him my bunny was 12 years old he immediately exclaimed "my goodness! 12 years! I think he is the oldest bunny I have ever met! You all gave him 3-4 years more than most bunnies.. he must have been one happy little guy!! Good job!" Those words gave me comfort. He didn't ask me why I didn't get him there sooner, he didn't criticize me for not bringing my little guys records. He simply comforted me and my son and didn't charge me for this incredibly short visit. I am thankful for this staff as this was extremely difficult for me and my family. If we lived closer I would definitely chose this practice as our home vet all day every day. Thank you for everything, it seriously meant the world to us.

We are forever grateful to them. When our dog suddenly collapsed and went into heart failure at 5:00 pm on a week day our regular vet who has taken care of our dog for 8 years turned us away. They gave us a name of another vet to try because they were booked for the day. Instead I called Avon animal hospital whom my parents used years ago. They told us to come right in. They took care of us like family. Unfortunately our dog could not be saved. He was a 10 year old doberman and his heart just gave out. The staff was so compassionate and caring. They really supported us during this heartbreaking situation. We will now be taking our other pets there eventhough we live in Lagrange.

When I took my turtle to be looked at by Dr Putkonnen, I could tell he knew how to handle him properly. So this is where I go now. The Dr. also worked with my son's crested gecko and we were both pleased. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, and it shows. I'd highly recommend him if you have exotics.

We got our cat as a tiny kitten, bottle fed him until he was old enough to eat. I never wanted him to go to the vet however a patron of my employers recommended this place and I am so grateful. I have a busy work schedule and had to drop my babe off 5 days earlier to his appointment. Everyone was accommodating and took great care of my kitty. I am so thankful! Thanks for such great service. Though the staff is excellent the facility is small, so I'd arrive only a couple minutes early so it's not crowded at any point.

This veterinarian office was amazing! Appointment was easy to make and staff were friendly. Dr. Putkonen took excellent care of our ill bunnies and answered all of our questions. He was absolutely wonderful and I will definitely return in the future. Thank you Dr. Putkonen for taking such great care of my daughters bunnies :)

We are forever grateful to them. When our dog suddenly collapsed and went into heart failure at 5:00 pm on a week day our regular vet who has taken care of our dog for 8 years turned us away. They gave us a name of another vet to try because they were booked for the day. Instead I called Avon animal hospital whom my parents used years ago. They told us to come right in. They took care of us like family. Unfortunately our dog could not be saved. He was a 10 year old doberman and his heart just gave out. The staff was so compassionate and caring. They really supported us during this heartbreaking situation. We will now be taking our other pets there eventhough we live in Lagrange.

The bad reviews about dr Putkonen are from butt hurt people. He is an amazing vet! I took my snake to see him and he was amazing. He is honest and people don't like it.

When I took my turtle to be looked at by Dr Putkonnen, I could tell he knew how to handle him properly. So this is where I go now. The Dr. also worked with my son's crested gecko and we were both pleased. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, and it shows. I'd highly recommend him if you have exotics.

I have a busy work schedule and had to drop my babe off 5 days earlier to his appointment. Everyone was accommodating and took great care of my kitty. I am so thankful! Thanks for such great service.
