Our 10 year old mini labradoodle suffered a torn cruciate ligament and needed surgical repair. Our vet gave us two surgical referrals and we went to Dr. Timothy Fouts at Hillside Animal Hospital for the first. We were very comfortable with him, his staff, & facility. Then our dog suffered a hard fall and we thought she had a broken bone so we went for a 2nd opinion at the Care Center in Blue Ash. They confirmed we were only dealing with the original diagnosis, on physical exam. Their bill was more than 4 times as much as our initial surgical consult with Dr. Fouts. We also received a written estimate for the surgical repair from the Care Center and it was 3 times as much as Dr. Fouts. The care center was so busy we felt like a grain of sand on a beach. Hillside schedules their patients so you are seen in a timely manner (giving your pet less stress time) and they made sure our pet (and us) were given a lot of individual focus and attention. Yesterday, our sweet girl underwent her surgery with Dr. Fouts and we picked her up this morning. She came through it like a champ. His call, immediately after surgery, gave us much needed comfort. We know we have many weeks of restrictions to insure she has an optimal recovery, but we were given excellent one-on-one postop consultation on her restrictions and meds. While Hillside is a full veterinary clinic, they coordinated pre-op blood work with our vet so the entire process went smoothly and we could support our vet in the areas they could provide. Hillside was also very accommodating at scheduling the surgery around the dates my husband could get off work so he could be present and provide emotional & physical (muscle) support with our girl. I'm sure the Care Center is a great facility and I have no negative comments aside from their costs and the busy hectic surroundings when you are there. For us, Hillside & Dr. Fouts was the perfect option. I would recommend my family and friends without hesitation. Read Less

His ability to explain the veterinary care my animals receive is unmatched and I am so thankful to have found him. His staff are phenomenal and I really enjoy seeing them when I stop in. I absolutely love all of the staff there. I had a cat who was sever,y injured and a dog that was extremely sick and dying. I had never seen such compassion and caring as from the staff at Hillside. Although the dog eventually had to be put down right before Christmas the cat the cat recovered. You can see the compassion when they treat your animals. This is by far the "bestest" veterinary team around. The staff treats your pets like they are children, their own children at that. They welcome my dog each visit with a smile and by calling him by name and he always responds with tail wags and kisses. Nothing but love, compassion, and knowledgeable service given here. Dr. Fouts and his staff are exceptional. We rescued our dog Louis a little over 3 years ago. Our boy Louis has had 3 hip surgeries, two dental surgeries, and the latest was a surgery to remove mast cell tumors. Louis was hit by a car before we adopted him and had a rough start to life, through Dr. Fouts and his staff our boy has been given a second chance at life. I always know he is in good hands and well taken care of. As nerve racking as surgery can be for a fur parent, We are always confident Louis is getting plenty of tlc and excellent care. I just want to say you guys are amazing. My pregnant dog lily was having problems having her puppies we brought her here and they took great care of her they tried to get her to have them naturally which other places just said she needed to have a c section. They wanted to give her a chance. They were amazing with the c section she had to have. And they were so kind and loving towards lily. We absolutely will be coming to u guys from now on. I found my kitty at work. Hillside had no issues getting me in to see a doctor. I barely had a wait. My kitty became very sick and Dr. Hopping and Dr. Fouts were very good about giving the needed treatment. Dr. Hopping even called on her off day to check on my kitty because she was anxious to here about her progress. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. After rescuing my first dog at 19, a 4 month old pitbull puppy named Koda Jean, I struggled to find a vet that would examine her. She ended up tearing her ACL before a year old. I went to Dr. Fouts after receiving a recommendation from a pitbull owner with the same injury. It's been 9 years and I won't go anywhere else!
