Hometown is beyond excellent. To qualify that, the prices are reasonable and the service is consistent with kind knowledgeable practices. They are good with and to the animals. Questions are common sense and very direct. When a animal is lost to death, the staff goes beyond the norm to send a sympathy card, occasionally, I have received birthday cards for my kitties. Hometown Veterinary has become my go to regular medical staff for my animals. They care about your pets and their well-being and are very thorough. Very friendly employees! I never had cause to be doubtful or upset with this vet location. They are fast and efficient, and wow the prices are very fair! They also don't attempt to persuade you to buy as many products as possible. They will make necessary recommendations and do what is needed after seeing your furry friend, nothing pushy. So far I brought two kitties over, one to be spayed and the other for a check up. I got my spayed cat the next day in crate and ready, while I was speaking with the front counter lady they sneakily slipped the cat right behind me in a matter of moments. The cat that had the check up was quickly diagnosed, treated, and on his way to feeling better. They gave me a personal phone call a week later to check on his progress and ask if he's doing better. These people genuinely care about your pets. They also offered a free check up on the spayed cat a week later to make sure she is alright after me voicing concern. Don't worry she's fine, and they knew she would be fine, but it was the thought that counts by checking her anyway. This is one of only three locations in Ohio that fixes and spays animals for a tremendous discount during the spring (if you qualify) (S.N.A.P), furthering my faith this place is more for the animals rather than the green paper. I will be making this my go to vet, and I highly recommend making a visit to this service. Read Less

We have been clients of Dr. Pugh for over 16 years. We use to live down the street but when we moved 20 min away, we still continued with Dr. Pugh, as our vet. Even though there are 3 vet offices in a 5 mile radius of our house, we still endure the 20 minutes of a howling cat because we know we receive outstanding care from Dr. Pugh & his staff. With our senior cats & their health(diabetes & kidney failure), Dr. Pugh gives me SO much information on, why & how, what to expect, what to look for... It puts me at ease and gives me confidence to care for our furry family. The staff is so sweet and knowledgeable. I now can give insulin shots & administer subcutaneous fluids! NEVER did I think I could but thanks to Erica, Brianna, Jennifer, Emily & Crystal... they spent TIME with me. They rock. Everyone at Hometown is very nice, friendly and loves animals (you can just tell). We recently moved from Canton South to North Canton so we decided to change vets based on geography. Dr Pugh was my Vet almost 20 yrs ago when he was doing Large animals. I remember him coming to my barn @3 am in the morning and me standing there with tears running down my face, I told him, do what you need too, but Save My Mare, she was having trouble delivering. He did save her life and she went on and lived to be 28 yrs old. I was So sorry to lose him as a large animal Vet, but I was thrilled that he started Hometown Vet, have been with him the whole time. Dr. Pugh and his staff have Always taken such great and wonderful care of my Chihuahua Colony :) Don't know what I would do without him and his wonderful work staff. compared to many other vets i've taken my dogs to throughout the years, i'd say they are in the high to very high range. 150.00 for a shot is ridiculous. I went here because I was hoping to gain a better service for the higher price. This was not the case. Sometimes things come up, and you can't control when your dog gets sick unexpectedly. This happened to me, and I had a couple days to go till payday and wanted to write a post-dated check and they refused me and my very sick shih-Tzu puppy. Who could have the heart to do that? Well it happened here. You can't make this stuff up. I won't ever go back there and that's for sure. They treated us like we were ignorant and incompetent for asking them to take a check, very rudely. When I asked them what I was to do with him, the told me to look for another vet that would take the check. I had been taking my dogs there for years paying their ridiculous prices, and they wouldn't work with me this one time? I couldn't believe it. I found another vet alright. I will never go back here again, or recommend them to anyone ever. Read Less

Been going to hometown Since 2000, when I got my Yorkshire Terrier Hamlet. Hamlet passed last year in July,2013Got Isabella our american bulldog in Jan. 2013 and Cash our black lab basset mix in Aug.2013, and now added Lilly our beagle -dachshund mix To our pack. As with all medical services, I think the prices are high. However, I don't believe Hometown is out of line with others in the area. They are very nice and compassionate. My newly rescued Bernese Mountain Dog, Belle, had no issues with them either. Read Less

We don't go to this vet because we have had a vet that we love for over 20 years and we still go to her. But this place is right down the road from us and I have been in there to ask them to put up a poster for our missing cat. They not only put up the poster, but were SO compassionate about the situation. When I phoned them to tell them we found our cat, you could hear the genuine joy in the lady's voice. The office is clean and really homey. If you are in the area, I would recommend these people to everyone. If I didn't love my own vet who I've had before Dr. Pugh went into their current building, I would definitely take my animals there. Read Less

A couple years ago I took my dog in to get neutered and he died. The staff and Dr. Pugh were very supportive, aside from the fact that my 5 month old puppy died under their care. I'm giving the clinic 3 stars because of the way they handled the issue afterwards; they sent flowers and a touching card. The clinic is also very clean. I will never go back though and I don't recommend the place to anyone. Read Less
