Our dog was seen last weekend for a dental cleaning and has gone downhill quickly since. He has kidney issues, and is refusing to eat or drink anything, he’s throwing up and having diarrhea when he does, and he can barely move because of the arthritis in his hips. He’s 12 years old and suffering. We tried calling this morning and we were told it would be a week before he could be seen for an appointment and they don’t seem to care about his suffering. The woman my wife spoke with when she called showed zero empathy and care that our dog is suffering. He’s been on daily fluid drips from an IV because of his kidney issues and isn’t drinking or eating, yet they don’t want to see him for a week because they’re “busy”. We also had an issue where they scheduled an appointment for our dog and decided they couldn’t see him once we got there because we already had used our allotment for the year and their system wouldn’t allow them to renew our wellness plan. They called us to schedule this appointment for us, then they refused care once we were there. They had prescribed my dog anxiety medication because he has such a hard time in the car, but were fine refusing to see him on the date they scheduled the appointment, seeing how clearly upset he was. Please don’t take your pets here. They care about money, not your pet. Would you take your kids to a pediatrician who consistently shows such callousness toward the wellbeing of your children? No? So why take your pets here? Read Less

DO NOT USE IF YOU NEED TO FLY PETS IN CARGO BELOW 45 DEGREES OUTSIDE! They are not willing to write any form of documentation to allow pets to fly in temperatures below 45 degrees on airlines. We paid for the banfield pet service for 3 years (20/month) without ever needing it really... when the time comes to need them, a few days before we move... they let you down. We are now at risk of having to leave our pets behind while moving, because they are unwilling to meet airline regulations for flying! Glad I spent thousands dollars over the years for a service thinking our pets were in good hands -- to find out Banfield doesn't support pets flying on airlines! Terrible terrible terrible. Good thing all i had to do was call any other vet and they were willing to help out, and prevent us from having to give up two members of our family. Read Less

I've had really good experiences with this Banfield. I've seen some super negative reviews online of the "chain" in general but this location has been great. I actually really like the wellness plans because they work great for someone who doesn't make big paychecks. Paying a monthly fee that amounts to around $300 per year depending on what plan you get is pretty convenient for me. I've paid $300 alone on one vet visit before at other places! And this keeps her basic vaccinations/meds/tests and her spay surgery covered and she has free vet visits. i cannot say enough about my first visit to the Banfield Pet Hospital on Feedwire Road.I took my chihuahua Mia there for some urinary issues March 17, 2016. We were seen by Dr. Abernathy and her assistant Jenni. I was very upset about my little Mia's health as I am on a fixed income and have not been able to take her to the vet on a regular basis as I should be doing. They were so assuring and understanding and explained everything to me in 'layman's terms' so I could understand what was going on with Mia. Dr. Abernathy recommended that I have a urinalysis and some blood work done on Mia to help diagnose what was going on with her health. Jenni explained everything the doctor wanted to do and how much each test would cost. With me being on a fixed income i became very upset because I knew I couldnt afford to have all of the tests done at once. I chose to have the urine tests done and Jenni took Mia to collect the sample. She returned a few minutes later and said she had spoken to the doctor and they had come up with a treatment plan. They suggested that if I signed up for their Wellness Plan and paid a monthly fee (which would be a lot easier on my budget) that they would be able to go ahead and do all of the testing that day and it would be included in the cost of the plan. I was so relieved to hear the news I actually cried (again!). They took great care of Mia that day and great care of me, too! I will definitely recommend the Banfield Pet Hospital to family and friends and look forward to receiving all of Mia's future medical care through them. Read Less

So, packed them in the car, and drove there just to find out that we DID need to make an appointment. I should have know right away not to go back there. But I went ahead and made an appointment. When we came back, we had to wait for 1.5 hours! All we needed was to give them two vaccines. The nurse came in after 20 minutes of us sitting in the waiting room. The doctor didn't come in for 40 minutes, after the nurse had left. They gave them vaccines, and told us that they'd need buster shots in 3 weeks. And this would make the vaccines good for 3 years. When back in 3 weeks, we had to wait for a while again. No surprise there. But when they charged us the same amount of money just for the buster shots, as they did last time (which included a check-up, office visit, and 2 different vaccines), it did it for me. And it happens that the vaccines that was supposed to be good for 3 years is only good for 1. There is no way I'm going there again!
