We have been going to South Russell Vet for at least 10 years now. And we've never ever had any issues with the doctors. We even kept them as our vet despite moving about 30 minutes away. After reading some of the other reviews, a lot of people were complaining about the cost. Honestly, they're not that bad. Plus, if you want great vet care, you should expect to pay for it. As a business, they have bills to pay, just like we all do, and South Russell is not known for being an inexpensive area. I have a 7 year old dog who began struggling a few years ago with walking. Early on when I noticed her disability I took her to 3 different vets in the area, needless to say I spent a lot of money in those places with no answers to what exactly was going on. I then found a great vet about an hour away, except it was an hour away! My anxious dog wasn't a joy to travel there and back with...I was recommended South Russell Vet and I am beyond thankful for listening to them! I didn't receive that look of shame or verbal frustration as my dog hobbled around the office in a diaper as I had gotten at a vet down the street. Everyone was so compassionate and caring and I was pleased to see a thorough exam done on my dog. I feel the staff went above and beyond even with a high maintenance dog such as mine. Since her condition is not painful, I don't want to make those incredibly difficult decisions yet; I left the vet with a sense of hope at making whatever time she has left a more comfortable time for her. I have been taking my pets here for the past few years. I always receive wonderful care from Dr. Bieber and the rest of the staff. They always take the time during my appointments and are always willing to take the extra step. The girls there always help when I call in with questions and always explain things in an easy way. Not very happy with getting dinged on $45.00 EXAM 3 weeks after the Yearly Exam was just completed! I went in to take my dog to get a booster shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never had that before and have had dogs and cats for 30+ years! Stopped in and was told that its normal proceedure??? Will take my Dog (That was there) and my two other pets elsewhere! This is my first experience with Dr. Bieber & the South Russell Veterinarian Hospital [I reside in Lorain County.]; and I wish to express my deepest appreciation for Dr. Bieber and her staff [Brooke & others!]. Through a co-worker, I was alerted that the clinic had two kittens who needed a new home. I have a 12 year old male who was lonely after our recent loss of his two siblings. When I expressed interest, the staff immediately emailed a picture and I fell in love! Dr. Bieber was gracious enough to keep the kits for another week until I could schedule time to come out to pick them up. She even stayed late that evening so I could come out after work. I could tell after a tour of the clinic that it and its residents are cared for by a professional and loving staff. Since then, the kits have had their spay surgery. They were very well taken care of and show no adverse affects from their stay. I can€t thank Dr. Bieber and her staff enough for the care and attention she gave to two orphans and then bringing the two kits and me together.Read Less

Dr. Beber and her staff seem compassionate, however, we recently brought our cat in for a urinary tract infection and they basically refused to treat him. He is a difficult cat, so I somewhat understand but being an animal clinic they should know how to handle this situation. The day we brought our cat in he was sitting calmly on my husbands lap, and the staff insisted the cat be in a carrier (even though we already pre scheduled an appointment with one of the technicians who said it was fine to bring him in without a carrier). If you have a perfectly behaved cat or dog this clinic may suit you just fine. Otherwise, find another vet! That is what we had to do. Read Less

My experiences with Dr. Bieber and staff have been overwhelmingly positive. They all have such great compassion for the animals, are warm and friendly, and I feel, have the best interest of the animals at all times. I have had several occasions where I needed to get in quickly and I was always accommodated and never rushed. They always follow-up on their patients care. Vet care is expensive and people need to be aware of that before they get a dog. I believe their costs are very reasonable. Read Less

I have had dogs my whole life (79 hears). Dr. Bieber and her staff are the best ones I have ever encountered. They care for each pet as if it were their own. Understanding how much your pet means to you, taking the time to answer any question, calling you with any test they take. I would recommend for anyone who want their pet in good hands to go to the South Risdell Veterinary Hospital. Read Less
