Today was our first visit and I was very impressed. From the receptionist when we made the appointment to the veterinarian himself, everyone was very friendly. Dr Reuger was a great listener and spent ample time discussing my concerns and going over possible treatments. DOG DIED GETTING NEUTURED!!! My parents 1 year old healthy Schnauzer died on the table getting neutered. Take your business elsewhere please. At the very least if you continue to go there demand to know the tests they do before they give your dog a sedative or anesthesia. Blood work, heart tests, scans, do they use an EKG. Read Less

They go above and beyond for our Pooh cat and have made her life so much more comfortable with her feline diabetes and kidney disease. We can not say enough about how they consider or "babies" and us as family, as we do the entire staff. We had been tended to by Dr. Dill occasionally, but primarily by Dr. Rueger over the years. He is the BEST there is, as are the entire support staff. They are compassionate, considerate, thoughtful, and kind to us and our "babies" while providing the best medical care. Our five dogs and three cats have all received excellent care here over the course of nearly 20 years. From beginning to end in some cases. Dr Rueger sees countless animals and yet was still moved to tears when the unfortunate and inevitable time came for us to say goodbye to two of our beloved pets. Dr. Ruger and staff are amazing, caring people. They did all they could for our 7 year old boxer who suddenly had cancer, and we are so thankful for their compassion. Their referrals have always been top notch as well. (Oncologist, etc.) Although we had to put Amber down today, the staff were there to allow us tears, time and heart felt words. It was a difficult decision and they held our hands thru the good healthy years, all the way to the end. I can't say enough about every single employee at cherry grove. As a Hyde Park resident, I never thought I'd wind up going to Cherry Grove - my family pets had always been patients at Oakley & Hyde Park animal hospitals.  Honestly, I can't tell you how/why I started going to Cherry Grove, but I think it had something to do with our SPCA pet insurance plan.  Anyway, as somebody who is pretty familiar with Hyde Park, Oakley, and Cherry Grove, I cannot more highly endorse Cherry Grove.  We have been taking our 2+ year old shih tzu mutt there since we adopted her.  They have consistently recommended a course of treatment that is not overkill, but is enough to get the job done (i.e. they don't gouge me by recommending needless preventative care).  Our dog came down with a cherry eye at about 1 year old, and their surgeons fixed her right up, and even provided me with written documentation to send to my insurer supporting the position that the condition was covered by my policy (SPCA insurance still denied the claim - DO NOT buy SPCA insurance - it is totally worthless, go with another third party insurer like Embrace).  The cherry eye has not come back, and she had a speedy recovery.  Just this past week, ragweed has skyrocketed in the Cincinnati area, and our dog has been a whining, itching, biting mess.  She has itched from sun up to sun down, and was starting to hurt her coat and skin.  I called Cherry Grove, they looked at her, and after I told them Benadryl didn't work, they prescribed a steroid/antihistamine combo.  After giving our pup 2 pills six hours apart, she almost completely stopped itching and biting.  Other local vets charge up to $3 a pill for those meds, 1800petmeds charges $.99 a pill, and Cherry Grove charged us $.78 a pill.  Cannot recommend this vet more. Cherry Grove is the primary vet that I go to in the Anderson area to take care of my dog. The staff are very friendly and they generally handle pets in a way that none are sitting in the waiting room when you come in. So if you have a very active or hyper dog, you don't have to worry about a lot of commotion starting from another animal in the room.So far my experience with this animal hospital has been limited to standard vaccinations from 8 weeks to my dog being spayed at roughly 7 months. Each time my dog has gotten along great with the staff on site. On occasion you might notice an accident from another animal, but like clockwork it is cleaned up immediately. All of the individual waiting rooms are cleaned after each pet leaves, leaving a very pleasant smell in the building. Overall I couldn't have asked for more when it came to finding a trusted vet in the area. Read Less
