The scope of service includes a wide range of wellness exams, dental checkups, post-surgical inspections and medication supervision, and sophisticated diagnostic tests. Blood panels, fecal exams, and urinalysis are laboratory tools that aid in determining the causes of digestive discomfort, fatigue, or allergy flare-ups. Medical treatment plans come from a combination of test results, physical signs and lifestyle information from the owner to ensure the plans are realistic. The pets originate from single and multiple animal households, with the older or recovering pets being frequent beneficiaries. Medical experts employ return visits to track affected individuals’ progress and analyze the effects of dietary alterations on energy levels, behavior patterns, and prescriptions. Accurate information record keeping minimizes the gaps in visits and enhances long-term healthcare. Mariemont Veterinary Clinic offers individualized veterinary services to meet pets’ needs at all stages, from immediate symptom management to a lifestyle synchronized with Cincinnati’s routines. The recommendations for each consultation are based on the implementation of strategies and techniques which change seasonally. I have been taking my dogs to Mariemont Vet for eight years under the care of Dr. Westerfield. As of a few months ago, the business is now owned by Dr. Zola. The quality of service is now embarrassing low. Two days ago I took in my 11 month old puppy for shaking, dehydration and repeated vomiting. After a less-than-thorough examination, she was given two shots (anti nausea and stomach acid reducer) and sent home with the instructions that she is fine and to stick with a bland diet for the next few days. The next day she was shaking uncontrollably and throwing up even a small amount of water. Thank goodness I took her to Cincinnati Hills Animal Clinic instead the next day. They are amazing. The recognized the seriousness of Ladybug’s condition immediately and after confirming with x rays, they immediately sent her to the Care Center for emergency surgery. I went back to Mariemont Vet today to talk to Dr. Zola about Ladybug’s emergency surgery. I requested my money back from the appointment a few days ago ($250) and he refused. He lied saying that according to their records they had suggested x rays and I declined. I have NEVER declined recommend vet care from them in the last eight years. I have spent $14,300 at that vet. I saved all of my receipts. In truth, I actually asked about x rays and I was told that they’re not necessary at this point. Had I trusted the advice I received from Mariemont vet, my adored puppy would be dead. She would have continued to suffer terribly and died a horrifying death. I recommend you take your beloved pet to a vet who actually stands by their service. He refused to give me a refund and didn’t even apologize for their HUGE oversight that would have cost my dog her life had I not taken her somewhere else for treatment. I personally cannot trust a veterinarian who refuses to be accountable for their service. Read Less

I have been taking my cats to the Mariemont Vet Clinic for about two years. It's always overpriced but usually the service is good enough to make up for it - it's Mariemont, I expect things to be more expensive. However, I took my cats in about 3 weeks ago for their 2 year vaccinations and to check on one of my cat's hot-spot. This particular kitty has bad skin allergies and has lost some hair and has bad scarring on his right side. The regular vet was out of the office and the interim vet didn't brush up on the cats' histories so I had to explain. After hearing this, the vet actually says to me "If I hadn't heard that history I would think you're burning your cat with a cigarette lighter." I don't remember exact words, but she made some other disparaging and insulting comments that got me even more heated than I already was. The cost? For one cat's vaccinations, one cat's antibiotics, and a cortisone shot I paid $250. There was an $82 multiple pet fee as part of that! I called to see how much it would cost to come back for the 2nd cat's vaccinations (they wouldn't give them until his hotspot healed) and they told me $150! Long story short, I took the cat to OAR downtown for the vaccines and it cost $30 including another cortisone shot. You can be rude OR over-priced, but dear god, don't be both. I will never take pets there again.Read Less

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Westerfield and the veterinary technician on-site at Mariemont Veterinary Clinic yesterday! My regular vet couldn't take me in for a last minute appointment, and I called a number of other vets who were unable to accommodate my request. Dr. Westerfield went out of his way to see my foster kitten, and squeezed me in at 6:30pm - right before closing - and while he was still caring for other animals! He was so understanding about my foster kitten's situation. I'm meeting with a potential adopter today who recently lost her much beloved and long-time cat to cancer.
