Incredibly disappointed in the staff and business practices of the Animal Hospital on Mt Lookout Square.  This place is substantially more expensive than other local vets.  Up until this point, I was at peace with it.  Recently, however, I found out that I have been paying almost 2.5 times for my dogs' monthly medication for the last few years.  Based on this information, I decided I would place my orders online going forward, and requested that they share my prescriptions with the online pharmacy (who does $250 million annually in sales).  They told me I had to come in person to pickup the prescription, and while inconvenient, I went in person.  As an additional control, the online vet also verbally confirms the prescription, something the Animal Hospital on Mt Lookout Square was unwilling to do, and failed to communicate back to me for 3 weeks, instead, saying they never got calls.  The online pharmacy had reached out over half a dozen times.  When pressed on the issue after 3 weeks, since I was now super late in giving my dogs their medication, the Animal Hospital refused and indicated they dont "believe" in online pharmacies... I asked them to make a one time exception given the timing of the prescriptions and the fact that I was now 3 weeks late, but they refused saying they care about the health of my dogs.  In reality, its their profits that they care about.  As an example, they charge $110 for ONE Bravecto pill, where the exact same pill can be found for less than ~$50.  You can run the math for virtually every other medication ... all it takes is a simple check.  I wouldn't mind paying a little more for higher quality care (as I have been for the last 3 years for my dogs), but price gauging at the risk of my dogs getting their medication on time is a different story.  I will be taking my business and dogs elsewhere.  Consider doing the same. Our first couple experiences here were okay. We aren't super particular about seeing the same vet all the time so we cycled around. They were all fine until we had one of the lady vets. I don't know her name and I wouldn't post it here if I did because I don't want to be crazy about this, but she was super terribly rude. It's spring and we ran out of flea and tick over the winter so we let it lapse a little. We never have flea issues over the winter so not a big deal to us. Well I brought our dog in and she had a tick on her and our vet gave me a very rude lecture about it even though I was coming in to get the stuff she was lecturing me about! It was supremely ridiculous, and she also questioned why we were missing a shot in our dog's vaccine records (a shot we had been told was optional). I told her that one of her colleagues had told us we didn't really need it and she became even ruder and said he was wrong and we do need the shot and how could we not know that?!? That was our last experience at Mt Lookout and we're switching to Plum Street. Read Less

We take our cat to Dr. Kevin Rebrovich. Let's just say our cat is beyond difficult when it comes to being in a vets office, and the staff always goes out of their way to try and help calm her down. They really are a great group of people. Our cat specifically had a voracious appetite. So extreme we couldn't even leave bread in a plastic bag on the counter without her trying to eat it. We just thought maybe she needed more food, especially because she wasn't gaining weight. She was even slightly down in weight despite how much she would eat. After some tests and research Kevin was able to determine she has a thyroid issue. Normally this would mean giving the cat medicine daily in her food or by making her swallow it in liquid form, which with how difficult she can be at times would have been a major challenge. Lucky for us, Kevin was able to have the medicine be put into a cream that could be absorbed through our cat's ear and only takes a few seconds to apply in the morning and evening. Having a vet who understands the challenges that some animals present is priceless. Being able to come up with a specific solution that met our cat's needs is something we're thankful for. Overall we've always been treated top notch there. The staff is great, and we've heard nothing but good things about the other Dr's. We will gladly drive the extra distance to make sure we get this level of care for pets and would highly recommend this practice. Read Less

Dr. Rebrovich is great. After three years and four different vets, he was finally able to diagnose our cat with a form of lymphoma.  All the other vets blamed her constant vomiting and lack of appetite on things like hair balls, not liking her food and "just being a cat because that's what they do".  It was refreshing to meet someone willing to dig deeper to find the root of the problem and then come up with a plan for how to treat her. I needed an ultrasound for my senior dog and my current Vet referred me to a specialist because she doesn't do them. I had worked at AHOMLS maybe 10 years ago and had gotten to know a couple of the Vets who work there. Dr. Levitas, one of the owners, is a wonderful Vet and such a kind and generous person. I remember seeing him rescue cicadas from playful cats. Yes- those pesky cicadas! He is well loved by his clients. Dr. Ellis is equally as lovely and had treated all of my pets in the past. She and Dr. Levitas saved my cat several years ago after he had swallowed a piece of a dog toy. It took multiple surgeries but he survived. Long story short, I no longer live near Mt.Lookout but when I found out my dog needed an ultrasound I was certain one of these two would be able to do it. Dr.Ellis does ultrasounds and was able to give us answers. After moving away and going back this week I remembered how truly wonderful these two Veterinarians are. No, it isn't a discount animal hospital. You get what you pay for, right? If you have a mystery illness or a serious problem with your pet, go see one of these two. They will figure it out. Read Less

Very pleased with my experience here.  We adopted a stray cat that had been living outside my work, and brought her here for a full check-up and vaccines.  We saw Dr. Kevin Rebrovich, and he was so wonderful!  He took plenty of time to answer all my questions, and he was so thorough.  I didn't think the price was outrageous at the end, but it's not the cheapest vet clinic out there either.  In terms of care for your furbabies though, I firmly believe you get what you pay for, and this was worth every penny.  The desk staff and vet techs/vet assistants were also wonderful as well! Dr. Levitas is obviously knowledgeable and incredibly compassionate about his work.

Read Less
