We picked up and unexpected 5th stray cat several years ago and weren't really prepared for the costs associated with spaying her. I searched online and discovered UCAN, which had a $20 spray program going at that time. I scheduled the procedure and simply dropped her off at my neighborhood shelter on day of surgery where she was then transported to the clinic for surgery. Turns out she was already spayed by her previous owner and didn't need surgery after all so I picked her up from the clinic that evening, so that's where my experience ended. The whole process as far as I was concerned was extremely professional and efficient. They had a whole list of extremely low cost services available from vaccines to microchips as well. I would recommend this program to anyone who can't afford a trip to the vet. Veterinary care is so expensive, this is a great alternative for those in need who want to do the right thing and take care of their pet but can't afford hundreds of $$$ at a vet office.

You call to make an appointment, then drop your animal off at 7:30 in the morning, then come back the next day at 7:30 and pick them up. That's how it was for me, very easy, very professional.

Very nice place. They neutered my cat for $20. You can set up appointment online. I advise that you plan in advance, because appointments are set about 2 months out. You drop your pet off in the morning and pick them up the following morning. Be aware that you have to show that your pet has had a rabies vaccination, otherwise you will have to purchase a rabies vaccination as well . My cat had already received the rabies vaccination, but I feel like this would be very convenient for others to be able to get everything done at once. I could tell the people that work there really care about animals. They're doing a great thing at UCAN, and I admire their work.

It's an hour drive for me, but it's the only place I'll take my pets for spay/neuter! 💜🐈🐾. When one of the ferals I in had to be put to sleep because it was so ill & had many internal anomalies, they were so kind and caring, as if it were my personal pet. The care and love with which they treated this animal was beyond compassionate! They did an autopsy on her and when they sewed her back up they took a little green marker and wrote a heart on her belly. I was so touched. She is now buried in the gardens with other pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These people, this organization, is the best! I wish there was one for every community!!!

Best spay/neuter vets in town! They have so much experience due to the volume of cats and dogs that they see, there are no other vets in town that can do a better job than UCAN! I take all of our neighborhood cat strays there, and have had several dogs spayed/neutered as well. The incision is almost invisible and the recovery period was very short. They even offered free microchipping the last time I took my dog there. Discount pricing does not mean discount service. The staff was wonderful, and very patient with the last little diva that I took there. You can't go wrong with UCAN. I so appreciate them!

Great place for cheap spay and neuter. Had both my 5 month old cats spayed and nurtured yesterday. Also had them check a few other things. One of my cats needed to be dewormed and with pain meds, rabbies vaccine, and other vaccines I paid under $70 total for both. The staff are nice and pleasant and very helpful. Definitely recommend if you need to find a discounted place to spay and neuter your dog or cat.

Now that my little kitten has recovered, I'd like to share how great UCAN is IMO.The first time I took my Nana's kitten she found stray into UCAN, I seriously thought I was lost. It is a bit difficult to find the building. In the middle of a street that looks a little run down, you'll find a sign and a small parking lot. The building isn't too large but parking is ample.It's easy to check in and they do a sufficient job marking your animal's cage and explaining the process to you. I picked up my Nana's kitten the next morning and all was well.Fast forward a few months and now I had a new stray kitten. Hamilton Co residents at the time could receive FREE cat spay/neuter and rabies shots. Incredible. The drop off is reaaaaally early, especially for someone like me who is on the opposite side of the city. Pick up the following day for cats is early, but not as bad. Dogs get picked up the same day.Same, pleasant experience with my kitten the second time I was there. It's been a few weeks and my kitten is fully recovered. Everything went great and I felt that she was in good hands the whole time. I love everything that UCAN has to offer for animal's health. Especially for strays and folks with low income.

For 1/3 of the cost of the spay surgery alone at my local vet's office, I was able to have my cat spayed, vaccinated, and received worming and pain medication. UCAN makes it as convenient and affordable as possible to spay and neuter your pets. There's really no excuse not to do so! They took great care of my of my kitty and the place is run like a well-oiled machine. Make sure to read the instructions on their web site regarding drop off and pick up times, and you will have no issues at all. I'm grateful that we have a place like this providing a valuable service to the Cincinnati area.

I got my male dog neutered and chipped for $65. They took great care of him, and even though he's not super happy right now, he is very healthy!

I have used the u*can clinic for all 3 of my cats and 3 out of 4 of my dogs. THE ABSOLUTE SERVICE EVER! They beat any vet or animal clinic ever. We have a small chihauhau who was used as a breeder, so she didn't like cages, collars and people; the staff took great of her. They were willing to work with her so she didn't have to stay in a cage not would she let them out a collar on her. She did so well with the procedure. SUCH AN AWESOME PLACE!

I'm so very thankful for the wonderful vet techs and doctors at the United Coalition for Animals here in Cincinnati. Nickel (my kitten) had been having some serious issues after her surgery, and after going to an animal hospital in the middle of the night Saturday and spending just about $150 only for them to misdiagnose and give her medications that made her worse, UCAN called me today and told me to bring her right in. I told them what had happened and they gave Nickel all she needed and more all for free because after spending the $150 there wasn't much more I could spend. So I brought her right there and they treated her and sent her home. I came home from work today to a whole new kitten. She's back to her playful self and truly turned a corner I didn't think she would make after the past few days we've had. UCAN is a nonprofit organization and I truly recommend donating to them if you're looking for someplace to donate to or have a few dollars laying around that you don't need. They help people like me, who would do anything for their animals but have a budget and can't necessarily afford to spend over $200 in vet bills. I will be forever grateful for everyone there and will be donating as much and as often as I can. Thank you all so much. With all our love, Kayla, Dillon and Nickel

I seldom leave any review, but this may be a matter of life or death for your pet. A few weeks ago I had a rescue cat spay through this program. She came home spay, micro chipped etc. and with a feline flu. As I have 5 cats, all rescue, this has been devastating. My cats NEVER go outside. The flu came from ucan. She has recovered but the other four cats have not. Two are probably going to die and the other two are going to have to be seen or face the same fate. The reason I chose this program was low cost. It now appears the cost will be very high. I will have 2 dead cats, and now some high medical expenses. When I called ucan, they offered to see the car they spay, but no help for the others. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE rethink this option. The animal adoption foundation offers low cost programs. They are investigating this issue as I have tried to convince them to not use this organization. After the vet visit this day, $150 vet bill and one cat deceased. This was not the first my bet had seen from a cat spay at ucan.

As much as I would love to be able to afford to get his blood tested and all the fancy things other vets can offer, a $400 or $500 surgery is not in my budget.UCAN is great! I had heard nothing but wonderful things about them, and their low costs were perfect. The staff was very friendly and took great care of my kitten. He seemed to be in no pain, but I paid the little extra for pain medicine anyway. His incisions healed up with no problems.I especially like that they have a program that helps control stray cats in your neighborhood and will neuter/spay them.

UCAN is fantastic. It's a low cost option for getting your pets spayed or neutered. I took my little Felix there after adopting him on Craigslist. Making the appointment was easy, and the staff was friendly. I picked him up the next morning and he was obviously well taken care of. Even with all the commotion, he wasn't stressed or scared. The staff were great about explaining all his instructions and what to do if we had any problems. For those of use without alot of income, this is a fantastic place. He also got his rabies shot and tested for FIV/Leukemia. They also offer low cost vaccine clinics on saturdays and if you live in NKY they have transportation assistance to help if you don't have a way to get your pet up to Cincinnati. Per the website "This joint program allows qualifying Northern Kentucky residents to pay only $15 for a dog spay or neuter and only $10 for a cat spay or neuter. Both prices include a free rabies vaccine. The remaining cost is generously covered by FOTS. This program will continue until further notice.Pets are picked up for surgery on Thursday mornings and returned the next day. There is no charge for the transport service. " That is AWESOME. That means almost everyone can afford to get thier animal babies taken care of and help control the pet population . They also have a feral cat trap/fix/release program.I just can't say enough good things about this place.

Just west of downtown, the spay & neuter clinic run by the United Coalition for Animals is a great low-cost alternative for getting your dog or cat fixed. We have had a lot of stray cats in our neighborhood and UCAN has really saved the day in helping control the pet population in our area without our having to spend a lot of money. The veterinarians are excellent surgeons and the staff has been extremely helpful.

We picked up and unexpected 5th stray cat several years ago and weren't really prepared for the costs associated with spaying her. I searched online and discovered UCAN, which had a $20 spray program going at that time. I scheduled the procedure and simply dropped her off at my neighborhood shelter on day of surgery where she was then transported to the clinic for surgery. Turns out she was already spayed by her previous owner and didn't need surgery after all so I picked her up from the clinic that evening, so that's where my experience ended. The whole process as far as I was concerned was extremely professional and efficient. They had a whole list of extremely low cost services available from vaccines to microchips as well. I would recommend this program to anyone who can't afford a trip to the vet. Veterinary care is so expensive, this is a great alternative for those in need who want to do the right thing and take care of their pet but can't afford hundreds of $$$ at a vet office.

You drop your pet off in the morning and pick them up the following morning. Be aware that you have to show that your pet has had a rabies vaccination, otherwise you will have to purchase a rabies vaccination as well . My cat had already received the rabies vaccination, but I feel like this would be very convenient for others to be able to get everything done at once. I could tell the people that work there really care about animals. They're doing a great thing at UCAN, and I admire their work.

It's an hour drive for me, but it's the only place I'll take my pets for spay/neuter! 💜🐈🐾. When one of the ferals I in had to be put to sleep because it was so ill & had many internal anomalies, they were so kind and caring, as if it were my personal pet. The care and love with which they treated this animal was beyond compassionate! They did an autopsy on her and when they sewed her back up they took a little green marker and wrote a heart on her belly. I was so touched. She is now buried in the gardens with other pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These people, this organization, is the best! I wish there was one for every community!!!

Best spay/neuter vets in town! They have so much experience due to the volume of cats and dogs that they see, there are no other vets in town that can do a better job than UCAN! I take all of our neighborhood cat strays there, and have had several dogs spayed/neutered as well. The incision is almost invisible and the recovery period was very short. They even offered free microchipping the last time I took my dog there. Discount pricing does not mean discount service. The staff was wonderful, and very patient with the last little diva that I took there. You can't go wrong with UCAN. I so appreciate them!

One of my cats needed to be dewormed and with pain meds, rabbies vaccine, and other vaccines I paid under $70 total for both. The staff are nice and pleasant and very helpful. Definitely recommend if you need to find a discounted place to spay and neuter your dog or cat.

Now that my little kitten has recovered, I'd like to share how great UCAN is IMO.The first time I took my Nana's kitten she found stray into UCAN, I seriously thought I was lost. It is a bit difficult to find the building. In the middle of a street that looks a little run down, you'll find a sign and a small parking lot. The building isn't too large but parking is ample.It's easy to check in and they do a sufficient job marking your animal's cage and explaining the process to you. I picked up my Nana's kitten the next morning and all was well.Fast forward a few months and now I had a new stray kitten. Hamilton Co residents at the time could receive FREE cat spay/neuter and rabies shots. Incredible. The drop off is reaaaaally early, especially for someone like me who is on the opposite side of the city. Pick up the following day for cats is early, but not as bad. Dogs get picked up the same day.Same, pleasant experience with my kitten the second time I was there. It's been a few weeks and my kitten is fully recovered. Everything went great and I felt that she was in good hands the whole time. I love everything that UCAN has to offer for animal's health. Especially for strays and folks with low income.

UCAN makes it as convenient and affordable as possible to spay and neuter your pets. There's really no excuse not to do so! They took great care of my of my kitty and the place is run like a well-oiled machine. Make sure to read the instructions on their web site regarding drop off and pick up times, and you will have no issues at all. I'm grateful that we have a place like this providing a valuable service to the Cincinnati area.

We have a small chihauhau who was used as a breeder, so she didn't like cages, collars and people; the staff took great of her. They were willing to work with her so she didn't have to stay in a cage not would she let them out a collar on her. She did so well with the procedure. SUCH AN AWESOME PLACE!

I'm so very thankful for the wonderful vet techs and doctors at the United Coalition for Animals here in Cincinnati. Nickel (my kitten) had been having some serious issues after her surgery, and after going to an animal hospital in the middle of the night Saturday and spending just about $150 only for them to misdiagnose and give her medications that made her worse, UCAN called me today and told me to bring her right in. I told them what had happened and they gave Nickel all she needed and more all for free because after spending the $150 there wasn't much more I could spend. So I brought her right there and they treated her and sent her home. I came home from work today to a whole new kitten. She's back to her playful self and truly turned a corner I didn't think she would make after the past few days we've had. UCAN is a nonprofit organization and I truly recommend donating to them if you're looking for someplace to donate to or have a few dollars laying around that you don't need. They help people like me, who would do anything for their animals but have a budget and can't necessarily afford to spend over $200 in vet bills. I will be forever grateful for everyone there and will be donating as much and as often as I can. Thank you all so much. With all our love, Kayla, Dillon and Nickel

I seldom leave any review, but this may be a matter of life or death for your pet. A few weeks ago I had a rescue cat spay through this program. She came home spay, micro chipped etc. and with a feline flu. As I have 5 cats, all rescue, this has been devastating. My cats NEVER go outside. The flu came from ucan. She has recovered but the other four cats have not. Two are probably going to die and the other two are going to have to be seen or face the same fate. The reason I chose this program was low cost. It now appears the cost will be very high. I will have 2 dead cats, and now some high medical expenses. When I called ucan, they offered to see the car they spay, but no help for the others. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE rethink this option. The animal adoption foundation offers low cost programs. They are investigating this issue as I have tried to convince them to not use this organization. After the vet visit this day, $150 vet bill and one cat deceased. This was not the first my bet had seen from a cat spay at ucan.

As much as I would love to be able to afford to get his blood tested and all the fancy things other vets can offer, a $400 or $500 surgery is not in my budget.UCAN is great! I had heard nothing but wonderful things about them, and their low costs were perfect. The staff was very friendly and took great care of my kitten. He seemed to be in no pain, but I paid the little extra for pain medicine anyway. His incisions healed up with no problems.I especially like that they have a program that helps control stray cats in your neighborhood and will neuter/spay them.

UCAN is fantastic. It's a low cost option for getting your pets spayed or neutered. I took my little Felix there after adopting him on Craigslist. Making the appointment was easy, and the staff was friendly. I picked him up the next morning and he was obviously well taken care of. Even with all the commotion, he wasn't stressed or scared. The staff were great about explaining all his instructions and what to do if we had any problems. For those of use without alot of income, this is a fantastic place. He also got his rabies shot and tested for FIV/Leukemia. They also offer low cost vaccine clinics on saturdays and if you live in NKY they have transportation assistance to help if you don't have a way to get your pet up to Cincinnati. Per the website "This joint program allows qualifying Northern Kentucky residents to pay only $15 for a dog spay or neuter and only $10 for a cat spay or neuter. Both prices include a free rabies vaccine. The remaining cost is generously covered by FOTS. This program will continue until further notice.Pets are picked up for surgery on Thursday mornings and returned the next day. There is no charge for the transport service. " That is AWESOME. That means almost everyone can afford to get thier animal babies taken care of and help control the pet population . They also have a feral cat trap/fix/release program.I just can't say enough good things about this place.

Just west of downtown, the spay & neuter clinic run by the United Coalition for Animals is a great low-cost alternative for getting your dog or cat fixed. We have had a lot of stray cats in our neighborhood and UCAN has really saved the day in helping control the pet population in our area without our having to spend a lot of money. The veterinarians are excellent surgeons and the staff has been extremely helpful.
