I felt uneasy of their knowledge, veterinarian skills, and professional skills. When taking my cat in for the first and only time now because I was worried about her digestive system. They treated my cat like a street cat and if she was never around anyone ever in her life and seemed very unnecessarily aggressive. I know my cat, I've had her for three years, and I know she didn't trust them. Then the woman has the audacity to continue to try and pet my cat as she's clinging to my arm in fear. Also my cat literally just threw up from wet food they had given me after leaving to help her urinary track. I checked it and it's expired. Worst vet experience. Never going back. Read Less

My cat is seven and I have had him since he was 6 weeks. He's my best friend and when he started to lose interest in all food (including wet and treats) I became very concearned. His vet was closed that day so we took him to the next closest which was Heights. My first impression of the building was that it was falling apart and disgusting. Nothing was new or cleaned and it made me not even want to sit on their chairs. They also wanted my social (which I did not give them) which is a big red flag for me. I have never had any vet ask for a social security number. Don't fill it out if they ask for yours! The receptionist was rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there at all, which is my biggest pet peeve as someone who works in customer service. We were put into a room that connects to a another room by a flimsy partition which screams trouble for me if there are ever loose pets that don't do well with other animals. They then took my cats weight and decided the best thing to do was to take his blood, which I agreed with. The older vet seemed like he should retire since he didn't do anything anyways. The younger guy was very nice and payed a lot of attention to my cat. They took him back to get his blood done and the receptionist was very kind to stop by and reassure us that everything was going okay and that my cat would be back momentarily. He then got a few shots to up his appetite and we were told that we would get a call in 36 hours about the results. Well, we never did. It is now 8 days later and I just called them to be told again that I would get called back. I understand that they may be busy but when it comes to pets, whom are very important and special to people's lives, the owners need reassurance. They need a quick check up call to at least ask if the pet is doing better and I got nothing. Luckily, my cat is back to normal but I can't imagine what would happen if he wasn't. Avoid this vet and establish a repor with one you trust. Hopefully I never need an emergency visit on a day my vet is closed again. Read Less

This place is dirty and disgusting. I gave them 1 star because I couldn't make this review without doing so. Their facility violates many health codes and regulations and is falling down. Water leaks through the roof onto animals that are kenneled there. Mice and other rodents march through the food that they are feeding kenneled pets. Sam - the owners son is mean to animals and often abuses them. I have seen him slam animals onto tables and throw them into kennels. Judy - the owner is totally crazy and is only out to get everyone's money. She has several lawsuits against her and doesn't know the first thing about animal care. I wouldn't take a stuffed animal to this place. Please people do your homework - tour the kennels where your pets will be housed while you are on vacation. If a facility won't let you see where your pet will be staying, LEAVE! Also, make sure your animals are getting quality care if they are seeing a doctor. Without hesitation, I give this place 0 stars. If you love and care about your animals, DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!! My experience with this hospital was simply appalling and disgusting. The conditions were deplorable, and I wouldn€t want any animal to have to suffer in this barbaric place. The moment I walked in, the entire place smelled of urine and fecal matter. However, the biggest problem I had was with the owner, Judith Wolff. She is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and heartless person I have ever encountered. I absolutely cannot believe how she spoke to my mother and me. We were in absolute shock how this woman screamed at us concerning an error made on her part. The word rude doesn€t even begin to describe her. One month ago my family and I experienced two very tragic and horrific events. My beloved dog bit my sister in the face and my wife on the hand. We unfortunately had to euthanize him. Upon signing the euthanasia form, I circled and paid to have an engraving of my dog€s paw print after he passed. After my dog passed, I went to pick the ashes up. When my mother and I arrived, a kind man working the front desk handed me the box of ashes. I asked him if he had the paw print that came with the ashes. He searched through the folder of records and found the euthanasia form I signed. He gave me a copy of the form which clearly indicated that I had circled the paw print option. In addition to not receiving my dog€s paw print, this place lost my dog€s collar containing his name tags. The man summoned the owner, Judith Wolff, to see if she knew anything more about the paw print or missing collar. She went to look for the collar and after less than a minute of searching, she responded, €We don€t have it here. He must have been cremated with the collar and tags on.€ She then got defensive with an attitude concerning the paw print. Before looking at the form I signed, she told me the reason I did not receive a paw print was because I did not circle that option on the form. I showed her the form which indicated I had requested a paw print. With disgust, she proceeded to change her story and responded, €Well, I didn€t feel that the paw print was warranted or necessary in this situation because he bit two people.€ For Judith to imply that his life didn€t matter as much because he bit two people was extremely offensive and grossly unprofessional. After I expressed how disappointed I was that I did not receive the paw print, she became even angrier and raised her voice to the level of screaming. She literally escalated, becoming red in the face, and screamed at my mother and me. She said, €YOU€RE JUST MAD BECAUSE YOUR DOG BIT TWO PEOPLE AND YOU EUTHANIZED HIM.€ I became extremely angry with her statement. I said to her, €You made a decision to disregard the form I signed, based on your personal opinion, and because of that you have taken away a memory of him that I can NEVER get back.€ She completely ignored my feelings and emotions regarding his paw print, collar and tags. She did not have the decency to offer any kind of compensation or any kind of apology for the situation she created. During this entire encounter, she NEVER once apologized for ANYTHING, or admitted her mistake. Judith Wolff, you are a disgrace. There have been countless other reviews and comments about the way animals were treated with disrespect and carelessness. There are also many comments about the owner, Judith Wolff. Other people have experienced her attitude and utter disrespect for themselves and their animals. All she cares about is money! No one including animals deserves to be treated the the way Judith Wolff treats customers and animals. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! Read Less

Take your pet somewhere else!!!  Took my cat in to get him neutered...the lady (Judy) at the front desk was short on patience and had been rude on the phone.  When I went back to pick him up I waited for a few minutes and in that time a man brought in a very large, very vocal/aggressive dog.  The lady didn't even think twice about the fact that maybe having the dog and my cat in the same room at the same time might not be the best idea, especially after my telling her that the cat is sensitive to loud noise and commotion. She brought my cat in anyway and the dog started barking very aggressively and of course my generally low-energy cat freaked out.  The lady started yelling "GET THAT DOG IN A ROOM" while she was holding my terrified cat.  An assistant came to take the dog to an examination room but stopped to weigh the dog and the lady continued to yell at him to get the dog out.  All the while my cat was thrashing and digging his claws into her and she kept yelling and squeezing him (right where they'd just cut into him!) to keep him from getting out of her arms. I asked her to give me my cat and she wouldn't, so I ended up just grabbing him from her.  I asked if I could stay inside for a minute to let the cat calm down before I took him to my car but she said "no you need to just go."  Seems like a caring person would respect a customer and her pet and wait until the dog was in a room before getting my very loopy cat from the back.  Also, the vet was supposed to do an exam (which we paid $65 for) and I asked that he look into a few things that didn't quite seem right, but apparently he didn't write down his notes and all he could remember when she asked him to come talk to me was that "there was a flea." Very unpleasant experience...also a very stinky and not particularly clean office.  Won't be going back. Read Less

AVOID this place. A few months ago, my cat got really sick. It was after my regular vet had already closed for the night, but I saw that this place was still open. I called and could hardly hear the receptionist, as my cat was howling in pain. I told her I was bringing my cat in and to be expecting us. I was then informed that they were closing soon. This was obviously an emergency, so I told her to go ask the vet if they could wait for me to get there (I'm only a few blocks away). She came back and told me that they were closing and to go to the ER... which is about 45 minutes away. Obviously, these people aren't in the business of SAVING PETS. They're more worried about closing their doors at 7pm on the dot, like they're a freaking Kmart or something. Shame on you. Read Less

I highly recommend Cleveland Heights Animal Clinic. They literally saved our 12 year old Golden Retriever Murphy's life.  Murphy has had a lipoma for the past few years under his left arm, but in May it started to grow rapidly and began to hinder his ability to walk. We had always gone to Gateway Animal Clinic in Tremont, so we took him there and they basically said that his best days were behind (rather callously) and all we could do was make him comfortable, without taking a thorough look at the lipoma. So we took him home and tried to keep him comfortable, but eventually, part of the tumor started to become necrotic and bleed, so we decied to take him to the local place, Cleveland Heights Animal Clinic. Dr. Kleinman was very kind and understanding of our situation, and although she also thought that there was nothing to be done about the tumor, she gave us medicine and a treatment plan for the necrosis and told us to come back in a week. The following week we went for the checkup (at this point thinking he had maybe a week left before we would have to put him down) and to our surprise Dr. Kleinman reassessed the tumor and decided that it would be removable. She came in on her July 4th holiday to spend 4 hours removing Murphy's tumor and did so successfully. When they took it out it weighed almost 9 pounds. One month later Murphy is completely back to normal and healed up. He could live another 3-4 years it seems. Just a month ago we had resigned ourselves to the fact that our best friend would be leaving us, and now he has a renewed life thanks to Dr. Kleinman and the staff at the Cleveland Heights Animal Clinic. Throughout the entire process we were extremely impressed with the attention and  care they gave to our dog, and we will always use them for out vet needs while we live in Cleveland. In addition to quality care they are timely, professional, and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a new vet, there is no need to look further Read Less

When we first moved to the neighborhood, we were shopping for vets to take care of and board our dog.  We tried a few before we settled on Heights Animal Hospital.  It apparently had a bad reputation, but we have not experienced any of it.  They have taken great care of our dog.  Boarding, grooming, as well as routine medical care.  Their staff is friendly and attentive.  Our dog is walked regularly when boarded.  He always comes home clean.  Prices seem reasonable.  Theirs hours are different, because of the Jewish holidays and sabbath.  They are closed Saturdays, but open Sundays.  It's always good to call before you stop in.  I really have to recommend them for all of the good care they have provided our pets. I took my 1 year conure there for a basic office visit, trimming... Not only did they cut the quick, he burned his beak with a cauterizing gun, trying to make it more "malleable" so he could cut his beak with regular un-sterilized dog nail trimmers, luckily i stopped him from doing major damage, (if you don't know a birds beak is not just like a nail, it is actually a sensory organ that has many sensory receptors), lets just say I wanted to leave in a hurry. After cooling down for 2 days, I went back in to try to make a compromise as i didn't feel i should pay for him hurting and traumatizing him especially that the visit only lasted 5 minutes, and the office manager said "well you already paid there is nothing i can do", she could of refunded me, but she was just bean uncaring, she is way worse than the Dr, someone like her should not be working with the public. I asked if how she would feel if she had a cauterizing gun to her nail, she repsponed with "hes an animal not a human", which is a good indicator she is in the wrong field. The Dr. wasn't horrible person, and I'm sure he is very knowledgeable as he has been practicing for 50 years or so.. just too shaky and poor eyesight which isn't okay when working with 2 oz birds, and maybe in the 60s or 70s the "procedure" that tried to do on my bird was okay, but i don't think this fits today's standards as far as rare breeds of birds go. I DO  NOT recommend going to this facility, as in my experience they don't care for their patients, and are just in it for the money. Read Less

I revealed the form which I signed at an earlier date. She then changed her story and said “I didn’t feel that the paw print was warranted or necessary in this situation because he bit two people.” She then literally screamed at my mother and me saying, “YOU’RE JUST MAD BECAUSE YOUR DOG BIT TWO PEOPLE AND YOU EUTHANIZED HIM.” Because she made a personal decision, she has taken away a memory of him that I can NEVER get back.” AVOID THIS PLACE!

Read Less
