This place is all about money. My dog had a bad reaction to a med they prescribed and they had me sit in the waiting room for an hour. Finally they saw my dog but it was too late. He was my best friend for 10 years. I’m devastated. He was cremated and when I went to go pick up the ashes the administrator told me “it’s not really his ashes… We just blend them all together, it’s the thought that counts.“ still charged full price. Steer clear of these thieves and animal murderers. All they care about is the money to build more wings to their facility. You will never see the same vet twice, The vet techs that work here all speak badly about it and say it’s like an assembly line. the ones who stay are rude nasty employees bc shit trickled downhill so morale is piss poor. Will over charge every service.. Spread the word! Read Less

Doctor was cold, mean and uninformed. Barely told me two words but still took my money after she examined my cat. Prices were ridiculous… I’m willing to pay for good service but they don’t even do that. The vet tech were equally nasty. Wait times horrendous. My cat kept vomiting… I brought him to the “vet clinic“ (more like torture chamber) and he came out blind in his left eye! They took him out of the examining room and did something to him. And then wanted to pretend like it wasn’t their fault even though he absolutely was not blind in his left eye prior to me bringing him in. Did not correct his vomiting issue either and actually gave me information on cremation services even though he still alive. These people are absolutely horrendous. Read Less

Steer clear of this place. They overcharge, extremely rude staff. My beloved cat had to be put down at this place. He was my best friend for 16 years. I went back to collect the ashes and they told me “we lost him.“ I was incredulous and couldn’t believe it. As heartbroken as I was I was even more shattered after they handed me the bill… what, for losing my pet? Also in comparison to other clinics they charged twice as much. They just shrugged and left it at that. An “oops sorry“ for prolonging my grief process and I will never truly have closure. They told me they will let me know if they find him… Months later, still nothing. They probably gave them to another family. So disrespectful and they only care about money. All I can say is do not give this place your business. If that’s how they treat deceased animals… Don’t even want to think about how they treat living animals. Read Less

Very strange company… Would not trust my goldfish with these people much less my beloved cat or dog. They forgot to give me a pertinent item and when I got home I called them and they told me I would have to pay for shipping and I said that’s a little messed up considering how it was their blunder. I paid for it and then 30 minutes later I got a frantic phone call from a “administrator“ apologizing profusely who then refunded me shipping charges and kept carrying on and on in the phone conversation over such a minor issue. When I went in for another appointment the next day, everyone was eyeing me suspiciously with terror in their eyes mixed with hate. Apparently I was the talk of the office and it was also written in my chart that I was annoyed with this very minor blunder and it caused quite a ruckus. Normal People would not focus on this and have it be office gossip. They were all either aggressive or jumpy and fearful around me… and I have been told my entire life that I am a mild mannered and introverted person. Ever see that movie “Mean Girls“? Westpark Animal Clinic is staffed with a bunch of females and effeminate men so that I think someone explains it… petty small-minded women are often like this to each other and it’s these type of women who comprise this staff. Pretty pathetic considering it’s a hospital for animals but I guess failures with no other social outlet use their work environment to air out their frustrations with the way their lives turned out. I then called the next day about an upcoming procedure for my pet and was spoken to belligerently by a receptionist. I hung up the phone and once again… Frantic call from an “administrator”. I think they all have this PMS’ing “administrator” on speed dial and anything that happens good or bad they are instructed to inform this “administrator” immediately so that the truth doesn’t get out in Google reviews because they are so hungry for money they don’t want their image tarnished. (“Big Brother” is watching you!) This time the administrator started yelling at me… I hung up the phone and sat there stunned and realized I should not have picked a large profit focused vet. They have the marketing budget for fake reviews and that’s what lured me in. Smaller clinics are more humane and have a personalized caring touch and certainly don’t have the opportunity to grow a staff that gets cliquey as a survival mechanism and festers with hate and toxicity the way Westpark apparently has. After this, I had to go in for yet another appointment and once again the staff regarded me like I had horns growing out of my head. Twice techs said to me “I was reading your chart” and as they were doing this stared at me with unmasked viciousness. They can make a reality show out of this. Bizarre company…Company culture says a lot about an organization, and it starts from the top down. When the “administrator” called me the second time she started running her mouth about the owners and the staff and her vaunted role (I guess we all need reasons to feel special) and it’s just weird how over the most minor issues the staff runs to this long-winded miserable “administrator” who then hits up clients and then this “administrator” is so unhinged she starts yelling at said clients. Do not take your pets here under any circumstances… Who knows what might happen to them by such freaks. Society is becoming increasingly hostile and this place is an example of the worst in humanity. Pets are an escape from humanity’s darkness but these people are so wacky you might not have that escape anymore after they’re through with your pet after they misdiagnose and mistreat your baby. The bizarre manner in which West Park Animal Hospital treats humans… I don’t even want to think about how they treat animals who can’t defend themselves. Read Less

It's a vet that does charge a lot.. I owe them money from some needless surgeries on a few of my cats a few years ago. And I was told today I'm pretty much blacklisted and can't even buy flea medicine with cash there.. All they care about is money! If you go there make sure you got the funds available. 3 months ago One of my cats died and I could not afford to pay for cremation the day she passed... until three days later.. I was told over the phone to put cat in freezer and when I could pay bring her in.. They at least could have taken my cat to their freezer.. Very heartless.. They won't do anything unless you pay.. No matter how traumatic the situation..well it's several months later and three fourths my balance paid and yet my account is still locked! Just wanted to buy flea medicine with my care credit card.. Not add to my balance.. But no.. Until its paid off they won't help.. Ridiculous!!! They hey over 200 a month from us too!! I guess my pets health is NOT a priority. Waiting for a response here... West Park was recommended by a friend. Called for an appointment for a sick pet and also looking for a new vet (current vet never has appointments available when my pets are ill). When they found out I was not already a customer they told me no appointments were available and to take the dog to the emergency pet center. West Park lists open hours from 8am to 1am so I find hard to believe there were no appointments available in a 17 hour span of time. The recommendation to use the emergency vet is financially not always an option. I have used the emergency vet before and the minimum charge is about $600. Having recently been hospitalized and off work without pay for 7 weeks this is not feasible. Definitely not impressed with West Park! Read Less

I came here for a second opinion on my cat's teeth- what a joke and waste of $. Dr. Brendan was literally scared to go near my cat. He asked me to assist with everything, he wouldn't touch the cat. There was no tech in the room to assist. When he needed a tech's help- he took the cat out of the room and they did not examine him in front of me AT ALL. He just repeated what I told him I was concerned about in the beginning of the appointment. I do not believe he had any idea what he was talking about. I wouldn't let him near my cat for surgery with a 10 foot pole. Afterwards I complained & he called me after the appointment in a confrontational manner. This place really exceeded our expectations. As a first time pet owner I assumed any emergency vet would be a long wait, expensive and so so care. I’m happy to say that I was 100% incorrect. From the time we walked in the door (Sunday at 2pm) we saw Dr.Parker within under 10 minutes. She was outstanding and very helpful. Our pup was very sick and she was able to identify the issue quickly and he is already feeling better less than 24 hrs. I paid about half of what I was expecting to pay for emergency vet care. The front office staff was great to work with as well. If i didn’t work on the east side and plan to move there I would switch to Dr.Parker as my full time vet. Highly recommend this place! Read Less

If your animal has a small open wound, do yourself a favor and bandage it/wrap it yourself. I took my cat there because he ripped his claw completely off. They did get me in quick and the doctor himself was very nice. They gave him antibiotics, pain meds, and wrapped it, but said the wrap should only stay on for 24-48 hours. I went to take the bandage off and once I got the top layers off, I realized they put extremely sticky tape all along his leg vertically on the inside and outside which was totally unnecessary. It matted his fur and basically sealed onto his skin so I couldn’t cut it off or rip it without injuring him more. Tried oil to loosen it but it didn’t work. He pulled at it, as I’m sure it was uncomfortable, and eventually his foot started bleeding again. My poor guy ripped his own skin trying to get the tape off. As I said, the doctor was really great, but the techs or whoever do the bandages there did a horrible job and need some better training. And $20 for a bandage? I got enough materials to wrap his foot fully 3 times for $10. Very disappointing that the bandage meant to help him heal further injured him. Read Less

I took my 13 year old dog in to West Park Animal Hospital in September of 2017. She had been acting funny all week, and it became clear that there was a larger problem only after her regular vet closed for the weekend. I called ahead to talk to someone about bringing her in on an emergency basis, and the receptionist explained the difference between appointment hours and emergency hours on Saturdays. We arrived just as emergency hours began, and everyone on staff was immediately helpful, sympathetic, and caring. We had about a 20 minute wait for a room, and then were brought into a patient room to meet with Dr. James. I could tell immediately that Dr. James was both very knowledgeable and very caring. He felt around my dog's stomach and found a mass. He took the time to explain a couple of reasons why he could be feeling that and recommended an ultrasound to confirm what was going on. Unfortunately, the ultrasound uncovered the worst case scenario, which was a very large cyst. Dr. James thoroughly explained all our options - the benefits and risks associated with a surgery on an elderly dog, and the chances of recurrence, as well as the option to say goodbye. He did not push us to make one decision over another - just gave us all the information we would need to make the best decision for us. We decided that it was time to put her down, and asked the clinic if we could wait about 45 minutes for my son to get there to say goodbye. They were very understanding and let us stay in the room while we waited since they didn't have a wait at that time. They brought us some blankets and made sure that my girl was comfortable. Once our family was together and had been able to say goodbye, the team walked us through every step of the process. They were kind and caring, and their sympathy was really appreciated. I will always be grateful to Dr. James and the whole team that made a really sad day as good as it possibly could be, both for my dog and for my whole family. I highly recommend them! Read Less

Excellent service. Very compassionate staff. I have two rabbits and one of them has a sprained arm. Getting an appointment was very easy, but since I wasn't sure about my rabbit's condition I called the front desk again a few days later. They suggested that they leave a message for the vet to call me because I was worried about my bunny. Dr. Kari Swedenborg took the time in her busy day to talk to me. She is very knowledgeable about rabbits. If you need a good, kind rabbit vet I would definitely recommend her.Read Less

It took me a while to write this because I was indifferent about my entire situation. I am going to sum it up the best way I can. The staff has never mistreated my dog, I never felt that she was in danger or anything however I did have a awful experience. I brought my puppy there to get fixed, I was very nervous to put her under and for the entire procedure in general. So when I received a call after her surgery it was from one of the tech's. They told me that she was fine however they showed concern when it came to her digestive system. She told me that my dog was very underdevelobed and "abnormal" Of course, I started to get upset because I was very confused, I asked if this was something that I should be severely concerned with and she said "well no, not right now" I immediately started to freak out, called the doctor back and she apologized and said she had no idea why the tech said that, there is nothing wrong with my dog? Then told me that she is a little underdeveloped in that area but it was nothing to worry about. She also said that when she got in their everything was smaller than she anticipated so she may not have been able to tie all the ovaries, but that will not be a problem. So what do ya know, 6 months later my dog is bleeding everywhere, i bring her in, and they tell me another surgery is necessary. Not only did I have to pay for everything, but when I asked why it wasnt done correctly the first time, I got a extreme attitude. I was just confused because if you opened her up and realized that you couldnt do the surgery accurately, why would you continue to do it? Well, probably because they hoped I would give them more of my money, which is exactly what I did. ALSO, I had another incident just a few months ago where I thought my dog had eaten some pills. I called them freaking out, because you know, they are her doctors. I was simply asking if I should giver her peroxide to induce vomitting. They said they cannot relay any information, said if i wanted to call the toxic hotline for $65 I could, or if i wanted to bring her into them, they would charge me not only a check up fee but also a $125 charge to call the toxic hotline themselves. My sister is currently going through a similar situation with her cat, I will never bring my dog back to them, which I dont think matters because they rip so many other people off.Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Amazing care and service! My german shepherd caught her tail in our fence while running back and forth with the neighbor dog and had to be rushed to their ER. This was not an easy fix, but they made sure to keep us informed on everything they would be doing and future care she would need from us. They kept her overnight for watch which was very comforting. Recently she started showing signs of some hip issues so when I called to make an appointment the scheduler inquired what the reason was and then scheduled us with a specific vet who focuses on orthopedic care. I would definitely recommend them every time! Read Less

I could review West Park a million times over with 5 stars each time. I have 2 ( had 3 one passed) dogs and take them to West Park to see Dr. Megan at the drop of a hat. I've also been there to see other Dr.'s... Dr. Scott, Dr. Boris, Dr. Rebecca and even Dr. Parker the emergency doctor. Every single doctor and all the techs I've dealt with were, and always are, very patient, professional and courteous. All I have to say is people have ways of misconstruing situations. One word in a sentence can change a whole situation sour. I've seen it with my own eyes. West Park hasn't gotten voted #1 by chance. Thank you West Park. Ozzy , Gizmo and (Annie did) appreciate you.Read Less

We have taken our 13 year old German Shepherd to West Park Animal Hospital twice in the past 4 months. Once for an emergency and once as a now regular patient. Both visits were exceptional! Each time we were treated so well. And our vet terrified Shepherd did very well and they were so patient with her. The vets were so good and took a lot of time explaining things to us. Despite being busy, they didn't rush through our visit. Highly recommend them! They are now our regular vet. Read Less

I wish I would have found this animal clinic years ago I've been overcharged at so many different places. I found this clinic by accident when one of my dogs needed emergency care.... they were one of the only few that were open late at night. I was shocked when I see my bill for an emergency visit, it was nearly the same as a regular visit when I go to my regular vet that I use all the time. Since I found this place I've been bringing all my dog's here, they are incredible, their staff are the greatest and very friendly, the doctors there are very informative and do their best at making sure your pet received the best treatment possible. I love this place and I would recommend this place to any of my friends family and Facebook friends... don't hesitate to stop there and check them out, they are the best.
