I have been going to this practice for many years. I have had many cats and an epileptic dog over the course of this time. All my animals have been treated with compassion and dignity. I could tell of so many times that Dr. Rosing or Dr. Fredricks met us for emergencies on the weekends instead of sending me to a emergency clinic. I could speak of all the times they did everything in their power to save my pets. I will just say that in my many years as a pet owner I have never had two vets show more compassion , share their knowledge more willing and go above and beyond for their patients and clients. Our dog had Addison's disease. He was treated at miamitown pet hospital. He had an Addison's emergency once every year. Two years ago they made him wait 4 days before they gave him any medicine. He fell off the cliff and almost died that time. This time Dr Rosen wanted to charge us for a blood test and another appointment before he gave him the cortisol shot that he needed to survive. They knew exactly how much cortisol he would need because he had the same emergency every year. The doctors don't do things for free do they? They only make money, like you and I make money breaking our backs at work, by making people come in for appointments and by having them do tests and so forth. That had to be done you see our dog even though they knew he fell off the cliff and he was going to die if he did not receive the shot. But it was not their dog. They treat animals so frivolously as of their life doesn't matter. I am not an angry dog owner I am a business owner. I'm a business owner who exposes things like this. That is what my business does . We told him that our dog did not have the energy to get up but he was excited and got up for the first time in 24 hours what were taking him to the doctor because he always knew he was going to get better. Again although his life hung in the balance we were once again told that we had to do the proper protocol first but there must be a blood test first. There must be another appointment first. There must be money to be made before your dog can be given the shot he'd most desperately needs to survive Prince They know he needed the shot. We know he needed the shot. The pharmaceutical companies won't allow us to buy the medicine from them. Ronald Reagan when he was president would have called this a monopoly and he would have stopped it. But only doctors have the privilege to provide what the pharmaceutical company makes which is a monopoly which is illegal under federal law. We were not allowed to get the medicine unless we went through these doctors called veterinarians at miamitown pet hospital. After he came home from the vet you didn't have enough energy to even walk up the steps he can only walk down to the basement. He never walked upstairs again. The next day he did fall off the cliff permanently, and he died in my arms outside in our backyard after a 5 minute fight against death. This big gigantic English Mastiff died in my arms as he was crying out in pain and I had to hold him knowing he just needed a shot but there was money to be made but there was protocol to follow. I called my girlfriend and she came home from work. I work for my business at home. I got a neighbor and we carried him into our minivan and drove him down where Dr Rosen pronounced him dead. And then Dr Rosa said, " I guess I should have given him the shot he needed yesterday. " I will testify to that in federal court , under oath, and I will take a lie detector test. And I will take a lie detector test, and I'll testify to this in federal court under oath also, Dr Rosen then told us that he told the secretary that we should be coming in at 8:00 as soon as possible to get the shot. The secretary told us so that we weren't allowed to come in until 1:45 p.m. That is a 6 hours difference. Our dog died just 3 hours after 8:00. Our dog is dead because the secretary didn't relay the right message. Our dog is now dead, the center of our whole family is gone and dead in our whole family is traumatized even 3 weeks later. Our dog is dead because pharmaceutical industry has a monopoly and won't give you an eye the medicine we need for our pets. Our dog is dead because Dr Rosen wanted to make additional money off of a blood test and off of an additional visit because they don't do things for free. The bulk of their money as a veterinarian and as a doctor is made by office visits and by prescribing pharmaceuticals. Our dog died in my arms because there was money to be made. There was money to be made before he received the shot he needed save his life. How would you feel if that was your dog and this happened to you and your dog died in your arms and you knew this had happened because a doctor, and a vet hospital saw a dollar sign to be made before it would save your dog's life? Then, if that wasn't enough, after we took him down and Dr Rosen pronounced them dead, Dr Rosen said that for $300 they would take care of his body for us. I stood there in shock as I told him that we'll take our dog home and we'll bury him in our yard with our animals and our family members. If that wasn't enough, I called miamitown vet hospital frantically as he was dying in my arms cuz I knew he needed the shot and they wouldn't give it to him. I was crying hysterically and ask them if they could please and I use the word please bring the shot out to him and give it to him cuz he was dying. The woman took our name and took her information and then she said there was no way they were going to do that for us. Is I continue to ask her to please bring it out she began screaming, " what the heck do you want me to do for you. What do you want me to do for you This is your problem what do you want me to do for you. What do you expect me to do for you sir" I will testify to that in federal court under oath as well and I will take a lie detector test to that fact. I'm a very successful business owner who exposes people and I have a lot to lose so why would not testify to things under oath in federal court unless I knew that they were true. In my years of owning my business, I will tell you this, that what happened to me, if it happens at all is only reflection on the type of vets and the type of employees that work at a business. Something like what happened to us is not an exception it happens regularly because this much inefficiency, and crewness, an unprofessionalism, and unethicalness, and injustice, and apathy and indifference, does not happen coincidentally. It happens not randomly but it happens because the people who run come with the vets who run and own this business have that attitude and that attitude pours down to their employees. I warn you never to take your animal to this vet. Go to Dr Shepherd. Go to Harrison Ohio pet hospital. Go to covedale pet hospital. Go somewhere else but my god don't take your animal there where this could happen to you There will only be one King Solomon and we will never get him back for the simple reason there was money to be made in a protocol to be followed to make as much money as possible. I will testify to this in federal court under oath as well. Everyone knows that this is how doctors make their money. It's not a cliche, if any doctor ever cared at all they would give shots, like the shot our dog needed, without wondering how much they can make off it or off of us before he received the shot he needed. See they cornered us because they knew we were desperate and they knew he was dying and they knew he needed a shot and so they had leverage over us to try to squeeze as much money out of us as they possibly could come all the money we were willing to pay because we desperately wanted our dog's life to be saved. They play this game with us last time when they made him wait four days before they gave this medicine. This time it killed him. Where is the justice system here? Where's the police? Where's anyone who cares that this happens. This is why I created my business. This veterinary clinic has gotten away with this type of behavior that killed a living life and they've gotten away with it yet again. If this type of illegitimate behavior occurs once I guarantee you it occurs many times. Read Less

My dog had diabetes and they kept telling us that it was just her diet and they didn't even check for these things. The vet that we took her to when they were wrong told us that she had diabetes and asked if she ever had bladder stones. We said yes. Then we took the stone that Miami Town gave us out of our dog and gave it to them for testing. Then they informed us that she had had diabetes for at least 6 1/2 years. But she had just recently just turned 7. I'm sorry to say that my dog Puggles that was a Puggle had recently passed away. We had to put her to sleep about January . I will never ever take my dog to Miami Town vet ever again. Read Less

I have been taking my cats to Miamitown for more than a decade. There is a warm family/small town atmosphere in the practice. They are very friendly, have reasonable pricing and flexible scheduling to accommodate emergencies. Unfortunately, death is a part of life, even when it comes to pets. Two of my cats have passed away and everyone at Miamitown was very professional and compassionate. I won't take my cats anywhere else. Read Less
