I have been going to Bethel Animal Hospital for almost 10 years now, and they have always been very good to my dogs (I have three big ones). My Rottweiler is boarded there often, and the staff knows him and is always glad to see him. One of the vet techs, who also has a Rottie, makes it a point to take him out to play, and my dog loves that. As far as medical care, they have always done very well. In early November of 2008, I discovered a lump above my brindle Boxer's paw, so I brought him in to have it checked out. Turns out it was a malignant tumor, which is common in boxers. Dr. Sykes scheduled the surgery, removed the tumor and gave me instructions on how to care for him. On Thanksgiving Day, which was about a week after the surgery, I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. It was Dr. Sykes calling to check in on my dog. I thought it was really something for him to take time out of his holiday to make sure everything was going well. The same Boxer recently tore a skin tag. It bled profusely, and I was unable to make it stop. I thought I was going to have to bring him to the emergency vet but I figured I would try Bethel first before I spent a large amount of money at the emergency vet. Dr. Gus, who is EXCELLENT by the way, stopped the bleeding and tied off the skin tag so that it would fall off and no longer be a problem. My dog was as good as new.Over all I've been very happy there and I have healthy dogs to show for it. I plan on taking my dogs there for years to come.UPDATE: The day after Christmas 2013, it was discovered that my Rottweiler had bone cancer. The treatment options were harsh and generally ineffective, so opted for pain management. After we came out of the exam room several of the vet techs came out and hugged me and my dog. When it came time to put him down, a vet from my church came to my house to take care of it. The next time I came in to Bethel to pick up a prescription for one of my other dogs, I let them know what had happened. The vet techs were heart broken. A few days later I received a sympathy card telling me what a great dog he was and how much he will be missed. So if this is what is meant by those who say that they are rude and uncaring, then I'm ok with it. Read Less
