So I called to set up an appointment to get my dog shots and whoever answered the phone was very rude and short over the phone!! She cut me off and said she was “in the middle of a surgery and someone would call me back”. Now I understand being busy and not having time to discuss something at a certain moment in time but there’s definitely a way to communicate this without being rude. Funny thing is, I used this clinic 10 years ago and had a wonderful experience which is why I chose them now. Wrong! Must be completely different management that has no experience in great customer service or just doesn’t care to be polite. Anyway, someone calls me back and I was going to mention how rude the previous person was and the person on the line was just as rude lol. Taking my business elsewhere and I hope people do the same. If there is someone that is upper management that I can speak to other than the manager at the office, I’m definitely contacting them. People this day and age have no common courtesy or respect and it’s crossing over into businesses. There’s no real reason to be rude especially because I was not rude at all. I simply had a few questions that I wanted to ask before scheduling my appointment. I was actually taken aback when she was so rude. I was expecting such a pleasant experience. Moving on to a more customer friendly vet! Read Less

Was MY VET (LOW COST VET BTW) for 11 + YEARS & then was told when I called to schedule to have my 18 year old dog euthanized "WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU" (quote) & referred to a "mobile hospice doctor" who wanted $350.00. Compared to the $80 that it's supposed to be at "MY DOGS VET" who apparently just randomly decided they wouldn't offer the service anymore &doesn't know if or when they will again.
I truly honest to God I wish so deeply that I could give this place less than one star bc I most absolutely would. My dog has been a patient w/them since she was practically a pup, now she's 17 & 1/2 yrs old & has declined rapidly & I've struggled with the decision to put her to sleep for months & months. It's gotten to where due to her health &significant pain I've had no choice but to decide to put her to sleep. So I called my vet who is one of the low-cost spay neuter/shots/well check type deals, basically they do things for lower prices than regular vets (@ least they used to be cheaper). Point is I called after I finally worked up the nerve after weeks & weeks schedule by the appt. And my dog's vet of yrs & yrs & yrs told me oh we are not doing that right now we're referring all euthanasia procedures, so here's a phone # to where we're referring ppl. Did I think this was bad business? yes. was it completely absolutely just ignorant to at the very end of my dog's life when I'm trying to handle everything and you have been her vet only that for the past, I don't even know, at least 12 years, to tell me oh nevermind we're not going to be your vet anymore now that you have to euthanize? Yes. Even though 2 months ago, she got really sick they offered to make me an appt and told me it was $80.00 & I told them let me give her a few days, & she got better. But now I when I desperately need them, I call the # that they refer me to & the woman proceeds to tell me that they only do mobile euthanasia & it's a special hospice center, it would be $350.00 for them to come out & shoot my dog up with $0.10 worth of meds to end her life. I don't have $350.00 for yrs & yrs I've used the low-cost vet clinic for everything. Why would a LOW-COST vet refer me to a "special come to your house hospice service that cost $350?" So now I've got to go through calling down the line in the phone book when I have had this plan that when it could no longer be avoided to take her to the veterinarian she's known and trusted for years and have her euthanized & then they were going to send out her remains to be cremated through a service but then suddenly when it's time they don't have time for me anymore. So I could barely get through that conversation w/them w/out breaking down & now I'm supposed to go through calling every vet in the phone book asking how much they charge while they're going to want to 1st ask me a bunch of questions about my dog because they don't know her history LIKE HER VET does. Not to mention after I called the referral they gave me to ask them if they had any other referrals of veterinarians they could send me too (because I certainly couldn't afford $300 being being a college student and a single parent) the woman told me and I quote well "there's nothing we can do you'll have to call some other vets WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU, I mean we don't have time for euthanasia procedures and we aren't scheduling any more of them." In those exact words, I'm calling my vet to have my dog of nearly 18 years euthanized and I am told "WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR YOU." THAT'S A DIRECT QUOTE. I called and scheduled to have my puppy neutered and microchipped on a Monday morning, the receptionist said her first opening was Wednesday. I scheduled leave from work to drop him off and pick him up. When I arrived on Wednesday morning, I was the first one there, the receptionist said that I was on the schedule for a date a month away. She acted like I was an inconvenience, said the receptionist that scheduled me has been "let go". Even though I drove an hour away, she said they couldn't do anything except reschedule. So I had to drive an hour and a half back home in rush hour traffic to drop the dog off, and then finally get to work several hours later. I do not believe the receptionist was fired. Very unhappy not only with their scheduling error, but more so in how they did nothing to rectify, and treated me as I was an inconvenience to them.Read Less

Mannnnn. Thank God this place exists. I wish I had found it sooner!Capital City will do puppy shots, spay/neuter, and basically beginning puppy needs for a fraction of the price elsewhere with no staple wellness check charge). Our spay process was seamless. I called early like you Yelpers told me to, thinking she'd need spayed at 6 months. CC explained that they'd want to spay her earlier than that so she wouldn't even possibly go into heat and scheduled us. The drop off is so easy. We got there between 7 and 7:30 filled out paperwork, talked with the doctor beforehand, and got to say goodbye to our little friend (there was a pause where it seemed we were done and I said "oh, is this it?" and they said yes, so I got my low key goodbye in. You could do it too, you just gotta plan ahead for it!). I got a call as soon as she was out saying she was fine and that we could pick her up anytime after 2:30. We had an option to buy a cone there (we did) and were well informed about the recovery process. I'm officially a convert! Read Less

I had my 6 mo old pit/lab mix neutered here about four days ago and was very pleased with the whole experience. I brought my dog, Leon, in at 7am and it was a really quick check in and exam. Which was good for me because I had an 8am class. They took Leon back right away and I was able to finish asking questions and filling out the papers and I paid and left and was even early to my class. I was worried at first because the price is so low compared to a legitimate veterinary office. It was $125 for all his booster shots, a nail trim, the neuter, and all anesthetics and pain meds to take home. I am a college student on a very tight budget and this worked for me and isn'tgoing to set me back. The employees were nice and informative.. not too enthusiastic but keep in mind it was 7am...I got a call around 12:30 and they said Leon would be ready to be picked up at 2pm. When I went to get him he was alert and didn't seem to be in any pain at all! He had the cone on his head and all that.. which was entertaining. I was explained the post care steps and received a sample of heart worm guard for Leon. Everything was so smooth and I didn't have to wait.He hasn't showed any signs of pain AT ALL. His stitches aren't even noticeable and it is so clean and he hasn't tried biting or licking it. He was eating two hours after we brought him home and he was able to hold the food down. I'm so happy with how everything turned out considering how worried I was. They even called me the day after his surgery to see how he was doing which was really nice. I would recommend this spay/ neuter clinic to anyone! Read Less

After getting a ridiculous quote on a neuter and possible dental extraction from our regular vet, I decided to investigate options. Our puppy was dropped off early in the morning at Capital City and I was in and out after a quick chat with the veterinarian who determined that a tooth removal on a baby tooth was not necessary, and she wasn't sure what would have made our costly vet (smirk) insist on a procedure that would have been more risky than helpful.I estimate that we saved at least $500 and our puppy was well taken care of! We got him microchipped, too, and they took care of everything once I filled out the paperwork.Couldn't be happier! 8 days post-op and he's doing fantastic! Read Less

When we decided to take in a stray kitten, we decided on Capital City because it is said to be quality care at a low cost. It was not communicated to us the main vet was on vacation, so a relief vet did her spay and declaw surgery. When her bandages came off, one of her paws was severely swollen and infected. A very long story short... the clinic told us the infection was beyond their help and to go to a full service vet. The infection got worse, our kitten might die, and Capital City will not take any responsibility because it's not their fault that a relief vet was doing their clinic's work. I was extremely disappointed with the way we were treated, and obviously how our cat was treated. With the amount of money we have spent so far trying to get her better, we could have gone to the most expensive vet in town over and over. The relief vet's company is working toward helping us, but Capital City is not helping at all in any way. I would never ever trust taking my pet to them again. Read Less

I just took my 7 month old puppy to get spayed here last week, because I had seen that they had much more reasonable prices than any vet I had been to, or talk to.I was questioning my decision as I pulled up to a large building that appeared to have no other tenants, and only 3 cars in the parking lot... including mine. I took my little girl inside and was handed some paper work to fill out, which I did not get finished before we were called into the "exam" room to make sure she was healthy enough for surgery. That was a major plus in my book that we did not have to sit there for a while, but then again there was only one other person in the waiting room with me. Now, I am not sure if I was still groggy eyed (it was 7:10AM) or if there really wasn't much of an exam.. but the "exam" itself literally lasted... 40 seconds... which I guess is fine if they are professionals and know what they are looking for. Here comes the reason on why I am only giving them 3 stars.....Yes, the price is reasonable.. Yes, you got me in quick.... BUT as SOON as my little princess was done with her "exam" they took her in the other room. I did NOT get to tell her goodbye, I did NOT get to wish her good luck, and I did NOT get to give her a little kiss. Call me obsessed with my dog if you must, but my dog is like my child. And if you are taking my child into surgery.. I WANT TO GIVE HER A LITTLE GOOD LUCK!! Maybe this is normal for them, but that did NOT impress me. Maybe I'm a crazy dog mommy, maybe I was still sleepy... but thankfully she came out of the surgery just fine, and is doing great. Read Less

Owning a pet can be expensive. Owning a baby pet even more. Spay and Neuter Clinic can help.Spay and Neuter Clinic is basically a pro-bono clinic for veterinarians. On certain days of the month, vets come in and will spay, neuter, and vaccinate your pet for almost half price of what you would find in an office. To spay or neuter a cat is between $27 and $48. Same for a dog is between $59-$103 based on weight. This is incredible considering you are getting the same providers at dirt cheap prices. The catch is you can only come on certain days and hours. I had to wait a month to get my cat in, so call early. I also could only get in during the crack of dawn slot. In hindsight, this was a great way to ambush my cat into going, but still earlier than I've seen in a while.Spay and Neuter Clinic is a real deal and total quality for your pet. No matter what the hour. Read Less

Read Less

Other than that, my experience was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They called me as soon as his surgery was over, showed me how to put on and take off the cone for his head, and made sure I had all the information I needed. Also, his incision came open a little from him licking his incision before I put the cone on him, so I had to bring him back the next day.

Read Less
