Very caring staff. Dr. John is wonderful. Our first dog a chocolate lab had ear infection issues and Dr. Grimm took amazing care of our dog. We know have a yorkie and Dr. John is equally effective. In addition Oakland Path Animal Hospital's fees are more than fair. I highly recommended Oakland Park Medical Hospital.

I will never ever take one of my dogs to this animal hospital again! We just adopted a new dog into our family and I forgot to have our regular vet scan him for a microchip. I decided to walk him over to the Oakland Park Animal Hospital to have them scan him since its close to our house. I explained this to the tech and she goes in the back to grab the scanner and starts to tell someone that I brought in a stray. He's not a stray; I adopted him out of a wonderful training program where he was socialized and taught basic obedience. She then comes out and swings at him with the scanner and of course he backs up and tucks his tail. That's basic animal know how; do not come at a dogs face, especially if you are not familiar with that dog! Our regular vet did a full exam and clipped his nails after he had only been with us 24 hours and while he was a bit freaked out, he never even opened his mouth. She tells me that she has to put a muzzle on him and I'm expecting a soft pocket muzzle or a hard form at the worst. Not what we got. This woman tied his mouth shut with a shoe string and then tied that around his neck! He was whimpering and crying and trying to get away from her. I should have taken him out of there right at that moment and I feel like I did my dog a great disservice by not following my instinct. The tech then proceeds to tell me that the tags the rescue gave me are illegal to have and are not valid. She said she called the county to confirm. However,I already called the county and they confirmed they were valid, they just weren't for my dog. I'm assuming the rescue handed me the wrong tags. She also told me I needed to take my dog to the county shelter.These people have no clue how to work with dogs and have no respect for them. This was also made clear by the fact that they were allowing another owner to choke their dog and scream at him when he barked. This place is a nut house and I will never ever in a million years take another animal here or allow any friends or family to do the same.

Very caring staff. Dr. John is wonderful. Our first dog a chocolate lab had ear infection issues and Dr. Grimm took amazing care of our dog. We know have a yorkie and Dr. John is equally effective. In addition Oakland Path Animal Hospital's fees are more than fair. I highly recommended Oakland Park Medical Hospital.
