The most genuine vet in town. Dr. Sears maintains an honest practice with reasonable prices. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Dr. Sears is legit and will not try to up-sell services. If you do not need it, he will tell you it is unnecessary. On the other hand, you know when he recommends something - its sincere. Dr. Sears misdiagnosed ear mites in my cat for ears (kept telling us to just clean his ears regularly) and prescribed antibiotics for my dog's auto immune problem (luckily we went to the OSU vet when we realized the antibiotics weren't helping.) I'm glad he's been able to help other pets, but my family no longer takes any of our pets to this vet. Updating this review! So I have to admit, I don't actually have control over my family. When my sister wanted to take the elderly cat (the one who had ear mites for years until a different vet recognized and treated them properly) I couldn't actually do more than strongly suggest she go else where. I needn't have worried though, because even though they were happy enough to schedule a visit for the cat I guess they realized after the fact "Oh no! This cat belongs to that lady who said mean things about us on the internet!' and instead of calling her back to say they wouldn't see the cat, WAITED for her to show up before saying anything! Because obviously, this great staff is not only very organized with their record keeping, but also incredibly sadistic, letting this elderly cat make a completely preventable STRESSFUL trip! I was referred to Great Southern Animal Hospital and thought one day I would go. My dog was itching non-stop for 2 days and so I decided to take him in. I did not have an appointment so I called and they got me right in 30 minutes later. Dr. Sears was so good do my dog. The whole entire staff from walk in to walk out was AWESOME! Caring and so kind. I have had many dogs and been to different veterinarians. Dr. Sears is the most knowledgeable and nicest vet I have ever known. He is top notch. He cares about his patients and the owners. His prices are reasonable for the office visits and the other things you would need to buy there. I would have questions where I would call and ask the staff and he would personally call me back to answer the questions. I would ask about doing a certain test and he would tell me he recommended a different kind of test that maybe he does not even do. Dr. Sears was excellent in helping us when we first adopted our puppy. He took time to explain everything and had wonderful suggestions for how to deal with puppy behavior. He, along with his staff, never made us feel silly or unfit as "puppy parents." We unfortunately had to find a different vet because of distance and work schedules but we are truly grateful for all of their help and services in helping with our new pup. Stating in 1972, Dan and I have been going to the Great Southern Animal Hospital . Simon, Jasper and Majic our very first animals after we married were cared for by Dr. Schadler Sr.. With both Dr. Schadler's and now Dr. Sears, we have had the very best vets that any true animal lover could wish for. Our animal companions mean totally everything to us. They are our responsibility and we have given them love and the best vets through out their lives. 5 dogs and 9 cats have been cared for by these vets and their staff. From Dory and Rita to the very best Lindsay and Brittany, Dr. Sears could not find a more caring and loving staff. My Grandparents and Parents also were with Dr. Schadler Sr. so I have had good experience in the knowledge of veterinarian's. They suck! My dog had Cancer and they should have put him down when we asked them to but the doctor threatened me that he would call a dog rescue place and take the dog from me. The tumor was well over 3 pounds and now just months later it is back and had to be put down! Read Less
