Northarlington Animal Clinic

Columbus, Ohio
General Info
Northarlington Animal Clinic is a devoted veterinary practice in Columbus, committed to delivering thorough and compassionate healthcare services to pets in the surrounding area. The clinic is located in Columbus, United States. The specialists work hand in hand with pet owners to ensure pets live long and healthy lives. The experienced team offers customized wellness programs, routine health assessments, and various treatments tailored to each pet's unique needs. Some of the services these professionals offer include nutritional counseling, physical therapy, pet boarding, cold laser therapy, reptile care, pocket pet care and microchipping. These techniques are implemented meticulously, targeting prevention and alleviation. The practice is well-equipped, and visits are minimally stressful for animals, which aids in accurate diagnosis and treatment. Clients frequently highlight the caring and communicative nature of the staff, which fosters long-term trust and enhances the quality of care pets receive. Northarlington Animal Clinic continues to grow as the cornerstone of the Columbus pet-owning community. The clinic’s experts are always there to assist, whether your pet requires help in the early years of its life or support in dealing with chronic conditions common to senior animals. Their constant pursuit of knowledge and dedication to animal well-being are evident in their work. This guarantees that pets are given the best possible care. The practice also strives to promote responsible pet ownership and community involvement, making it much more than just a place—an asset to pet families. Through its patient-focused care approach, Northarlington Animal Clinic empowers Columbus families with information while ensuring that pet owners understand their pets’ healthcare procedures. The initial visits facilitate environmental adjustments as pets begin to acclimate to sounds, lighting, and room arrangements. Veterinarians start monitoring a pet’s behavior as soon as it enters the clinic to check how it walks, reacts in social situations, and hesitates in certain areas. Also, they observe the breathing patterns and body responses to touch. Other aspects of physical health considered include checking whether the coat is in good condition, whether the gums are moist and have normal color, as well as whether joints and limbs are functional and non-limiting, together with muscular firmness and abdominal stability. Owner observation completes the intake picture: changes in daily activities, such as appetite, grooming, interaction with family members, and level of vocalization. Northarlington Animal Clinic offers organized services through lab panels, dental procedures, surgical preparation and recovery, age-adjusted diagnostics, and preventative wellness mapping. Detailed explanations are provided at each step of the service, and visual tools track progress for multi-visit plans. The team helps owners understand the body language of recovery and identify behaviors that indicate readiness or reluctance to continue, ensuring more seamless home care. Follow-up visits are scheduled based on the child’s progress, not calendar days. Owners should observe the changes in sleep cycles, eye contact duration, preference of surfaces and mobility gradient to have context for every return check-in. This ensures that decision-making steps are confident and unimpeded. The Northarlington Animal Clinic has a clinical partnership with Columbus OH pet families that promotes knowledge, patience, and visibility for first-day collaboration.

I like my vet. It is run by a husband/wife team. I consider their pricing fair. But, I'm of the belief that vets are only as economical as you make them. You always have the right to craft your response to services being offered. I have found this vet office to be less into up-selling and more into caring for my pets. But, I have had to refuse treatments because the expense was "unnecessary" in my opinion. I also make sure I look at my bills. I always question any charge I don't understand and they have never been weird or defensive about it. It seems to me that the husband does the surgeries and the wife does the day to day visits but, I'm not 100% sure that my observation is correct. There are separate entrances for cats/dogs. And they have a few practice cats that roam freely. All are very sweet. I know they are used by several people in and around my neighborhood. They also offer boarding and grooming on site. I have found their fees for this to be more than reasonable and lower than places like Petsmart, et al. I like knowing my vet's office provides a full set of services for my aging pets and this makes me feel better about leaving them when I must. Read Less

Our dogs, and cats come here. Dr. Teders is generous with her time and attention to our animals as if they are her own. Roxanne, our family's first dog, was injured at a dog park in the first weeks after we rescued her. Her medical history is complex and Dr. Teders and her staff went above and beyond, for us. Our second dog, Luna, is a mess. She is accident prone and eats inappropriate things. Most recently, she got into something that upset her tummy and the staff at Arlington kept her until she was all better. Our two kittens (pictured) were recently spayed in the clinic and they are happy as clams. The staff is amazing. Feel free to contact me for a personal referral if you have questions. Read Less

well frustrated is an understatement. I lived in Ohio a few years ago and had my dog see this vet for his shots/checkups while in Columbus. I had no issue with the vet or care, it was just standard. However I can tell they don't care about animals as much as they'd lead you to believe. I recently got my dog has insurance and i need to get his medical records which i've called about 4x. first they say they can only fax, which is antiquated and silly in this digital world, (i no longer live in Ohio so I can't physically go there). Fine, i got a access to a fax number. It's been a week and the vet has still not released the records after saying it would be 48hours. I've called to check up multiple times while they keep telling me, oh just a few more days. Meanwhile my insurance is demanding the full medical records and this vet is the only one out of 6 (i've moved a lot) that's holding up the process and costing me tons of $$$ because the insurance  won't reimburse me for his recent back injury until they have all of the documents. my two cents is to find a vet who cares about your pets health for the duration of their lives, not just when you're paying them. ***EDITED*** the vet was able to call and clear up things a little, and apologized for it not being mentioned during our first visit. still aggravated i have to dish out another $150+, and then another $50 every 6 months. :-/ I brought my animals here for the first time this year. a cat that is 4 years old and a dog that a little over 1. both were healthy and happy, the dog has separation anxiety, so takes antidepressants. we have received refills for the past few months with no issues. today we call for a refill and are told, "II'm sorry, we can't refill his prescription because its been 6 months since his last visit." I checked my receipts from our last visit and the receipt said 6/18/16, today is the 12th. so i called back and asked for the refill and was told they could only do 2 weeks worth. I'm sorry but for a 1 year old dog who is healthy and has all his shots, bringing him in twice a year is overkill. I'm not going to be held hostage over a prescription to be milked for more money than what is necessary. if this was the case originally to be seen every 6 months i should have been told that and not see you in 12 months! This is frustrating and sad because until now things have went very well, but i do NOT like being caught off guard and suprised that if i'd like to continue receiving meds for my dog, I'll have to spend another $150++ for a visit, blood work, and whatever else.........not ok. Northarlington, if you'd like to resolve this, I'm all ears, until then, if you're looking for a vet I'd recommend looking elsewhere.Read Less

Dr. Marya Teders is one of the kindest people I have ever met. You can tell that she is someone who truly puts her heart into caring for her patients. We've had a rough week with our kitty, Claude, who has been urinating blood and is extremely high risk of developing a urinary blockage, which can be fatal if not treated with a costly operation. Dr. Teders explained the situation and our options very clearly and with much compassion, and while we aren't out of the woods yet, Claude seems to be improving under her vigilant care. She, as well as her staff, put our sick boy at ease, and he seems to adore them all. If you want the person caring for your pets to treat them like they are their own, Dr. Teders is the vet to go to! Great people, great service and (for us) great location.  I rescued a Maltese-Shihtzu mix from a sketchy person on Craigslist.  She was in poor health when we picked her up and our first stop was Northarlington to get her checked over.  Dr. Teders put our very skittish (previously unloved) dog at ease.  Our little gal ended up getting spayed, updating her vaccinations,  having two teeth removed by Dr. Teders  as well as getting groomed at the clinic later that week. We've had our dog for nearly a year and she is now happy and healthy with her new family.  We're glad to have great health care for her close to home. I've been taking my dog to Northarlington for probably 8 years now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The office is so clean and accommodating, and the staff members are all very kind and helpful. And Dr. Teders -- she is simply the best. She is so kind, honest, and thorough and treats my dog as if she were her own. It means so much, as my dog is getting pretty old and has multiple random health issues. Health professionals like her are one of a kind and one in a billion. Thank you so much! Read Less

Dr. Teders is the best. I drive out of my way to see her because she's so great. I always feel like she really takes the time to listen and understand, I never feel like I'm pressured into buying expensive things, and she's great with my animals!I have to knock down two stars though because she really needs to get some more comfortable seating in her waiting room. These wood planks just don't cut it when I'm stuck waiting at least an hour to be seen every time I come in. Read Less
