My dog recently had an emergency which caused her to need stitches on her nose and medical treatment. We brought her here, as it was the closest and I was freaking out because my baby was bleeding so badly! They took her back immediately while I filed the paperwork. Within a few hours, she was stitched up and ready to go with her antibiotics. They were kind and handled the situation quickly. When I first went in I felt they were a little rude, but when I came back to get her, they were all kind and talking. I think I was just freaking out a little! I would recommend them to anyone with fur babies! I have found my new vet for my baby! Thanks again for all you have done! Read Less

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I took my American Staffirdshire Terrier (AKA Pit Bull) here because he started acting strange and broke out with hives all over his body. The first sign I noticed was all the staff seemed to act as if they were scared of my dog because of his breed. Anyone that knows my dog; know he is a big baby and he is not aggressive or violent in any type of way. We even assured them and showed them he is not aggressive in any type of way so they would not feel scared or threatened. They proceeded to say they are going to put him in a crate. Now my dog has never been in a crate his whole life, because we do not believe in putting our dog in a cage. They took him to the back and caged him, and when he was ready to see the veterinarian, they asked us to go get him ourselves. So we did. I did not see any other person there go get their dog, nor did I see anyone there get their dog crated. When we took our dog to one of the rooms, he was really scared and shaken up and he barked at two of the staff members. I've never seen him act that way before. With out regular vet, he loves everyone there. So fast forward weeks later we take him to our regular vet and he is terrified and he pees and poops instantly on the floor in the waiting area. I do believe they did something or mistreated my dog, because he developed this fear now that was never there before. It's not fair that his breed gets bullied and everyone automatically assumes he is going to be violent and aggressive. When we finally left and they gave us papers, the assistant put down in the system that he is "aggressive and violent". My fiancé and I both watched them do this. So he barked twice and was shaking and shivering balled in a corner; that's enough to label him aggressive?! I call bs. It was only because he is a "Pit Bull". Read Less

Friday,  3/27/15, was my first time ever going to this place with my 15 year old cat,  Patches,  and unfortunately I will never go again.  My appointment was at 4pm, and I was told to arrive a few minutes early to fill out paperwork since we were new.  I arrived a few minutes early and filled out the paperwork. And then we waited and waited.  We waited in a waiting room full of other patrons with their loud,  hyper,  barking dogs. My poor cat was petrified as she is small and only knows our 1 other cat and dog at the house.  At around 4:30 they took one couple and their huge American bulldog to their own room to wait in because the dog was sliding over the floor because he wouldn't sit still and wanted to attack every other dog that came into the room. Right when I was getting ready to get up and leave at 4:48 we got called to go into a room, where we then waited some more,  until 5:15, where I got a small apology from the vet.  I know it wasn't her fault and that things happen,  but I was never told how long I would be waiting,  or how far behind they were running behind.  I am very disappointed, as I drive by this place every day and it's very close to my home. Also, the vet was listening to Patches' heartbeat and said she was breathing very fast,  and I tried to tell her that my cat was very nervous and afraid as she is never outside, or in a cage, or around other animals, but the vet just brushed it off saying she bets that Patches breathes heavy when she's at home;  well she's on my lap now and as usual she's breathing her normal,  slow and steady pace. We really like going here. My lab Fenway always gets fawned over by the staff despite her high-energy craziness that comes with being a puppy! Their waiting area is fairly small but you can always hang out in the yard out front if that makes your pup or kitty too nervous when other pets are in the room. Her spaying went well with no issues and reasonably priced ~ $150 including some medications.I prefer Dr. Kathy the most, I find her the most warm and welcoming and the staff as well.I've had my pup in for a couple different infections, both times which were properly explained to me and the medications were given to me right on site. I even had to call Dr. Kathy's cell phone one morning early because Fenway had gotten into the ibuprofen (very bad!) and she instructed me how to induce vomiting and make sure it got out of Fenway's system. This is by far my favorite vet in Columbus.  Even after I moved away from Westerville I kept going to Oak Creek. The staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming, and the doctors are great resources.  I was a first time owner of a house cat and we were having some problems adjusting to each other so I mentioned this to the vets and they offered great advice on house breaking my cat.  They were patient and kind in their explanations, and I never felt rushed. This is a busy place, so one bit of advice: tears are not uncommon in the waiting room.  Each time I was there something horribly sad happened: someone had his dog euthanized; a family came in with a towel wrapped around a heartbreakingly still puppy that had just been hit by a car; a lady with shiny eyes petting her cat while trying to cope with the bad news she just received.  The doctors and staff were extremely understanding and tried to help in each case, even offering the examination rooms as a place to mourn privately.  That said, if you're sensitive to these situations or if you have children that are, it's probably best to avoid the waiting room as much as possible.
