I know and stress to everyone how important it is to spay and neuter your pets. I have only had dogs but my daughter and her boyfriend brought a tiny little kitten to me to keep over night. 9 months later I took her to be spayed and was impressed with how thorough they were with my itty bitty kitty. Took my very sick beagle to a local vet who told me she had pyometra a infection of the uterus. They wanted 2500.00 for the surgery and treatment or we would need to put her down. That was way out of our family's budget. Upon further research online I found SOS they called me at 10am and had my dog in surgery by 1pm that very same day. After all was said and done. They only charged my 107.00 for everything. And they also cleaned her teeth and cut her nails also while she was under. After a few days she slowly has came back to her normal self and seems to be healed up after a week. Thanks so much to the team at SOS They did a awesome job saving my dogs life. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the service that my two kittens received. I really wish they were a full service vet clinic. I would never go anywhere else. One of my kittens (due to no fault from sos) ended up getting an infection in her mouth shortly after her sergury, and the vet took the time to see her, and treat her. I had planned to get my kitten spayed after i found her but over the phone i wasnt made aware that if they have flea's there is I believe a 5 dollar fee which is the lowest ive seen, though I was not prepared for it, they were great about their customer service and consideration of the cancellation, i will be going back. Took my cat, my friend's cat, my foster kitten and my sister's dog there. Everyone was nice and efficient. I would definitely go back. Edited to add: my other cat was spayed at the old location. Four spays and a neuter thanks to SOS. My first cat's pink blanket got lost but they were so kind to find it, wash it and set it aside so I could pick it up the next day. Pick up was on time and again friendly and informative regarding our cat being spayed. I definitely recommend this place. At first I was iffy because we called multiple times and kept getting an answering system so we finally left a message. Took them a few days to call back which was a little annoying but it was worth it. Reasonably priced compared to actual vet offices. The vet was going to charge $275 but we only paid $100 at SOS which includes the e collar and pain meds. Dropped Dakota off at 8am and got her home at 1:30. Staff is very friendly and thorough. I have had 2 cats spayed, and 3 dogs spayed and neutered and they were absolutely wonderful! they did so much to help me get my 11 year old female pom fixed after she got hooked up with another dog and I was so worried and didn't really have the funds to have her spayed at that time but they helped me and some wonder person donated so that she was able to be fixed and we don't have to worry about puppy's ever . I took my kitty in today to be fixed and they were so sweet, he was shaking in his cage, and the lady who took him into the back room looked at him through the crate and said "Hi Jack" and it just made me feel really happy that they were going to take as much care as possible of him! Friendly and helpful staff, and very reasonably priced.  After I took in a stray kitten, my vet quoted me over $150 to spay, and around $45 more to microchip.  After doing some research through the Talk threads on here and some general asking around, I settled on SOS.A big factor was they were able to get me in quickly, and inexpensively.  Spay, microchip, and rabies vaccine cost me around $85.  I forgot my cat's paperwork on the vaccine, despite just having it done around 3 weeks prior, so they had to redo it per policy.  Fine, no problem, it was only $6 or so, and I get why they would do that since there are so many animals in there and they want them all to be safe.  Let's face it, nobody wants to recreate Old Yeller.The inside is clean, and there are a few resident cats that roam the area.  They're all extremely friendly (the huge orange fluffball was my favorite, but will playfully nip at you as you continue to scratch behind his ears and under his neck).The only reason I'm giving them four stars instead of five is how difficult it was to get them on the phone to schedule.  I called one morning and didn't hear back until late that afternoon.  At the time I had to check something on my calendar and asked if I could call back to verify the appointment.  I called back less than an hour later and left a voicemail; didn't hear back until late the following day, so I wasn't able to keep that appointment. I really, really, really like our vet. Which is why I was SO disappointed when we took in our new kitty for an estimate on getting him fixed, and it was going to cost close to $500. I started researching low-cost neuter/spay programs in the area and was torn between a couple. After reading some of the horror stories from the other one, I made an appointment at SOS.Making an appointment was pretty easy. We played phone tag for a couple of days before scheduling the appointment, which was completely my fault! They were able to schedule it for the next day if I wanted, though I decided to do it later in the week because it worked better for our schedule.There are guides online as to how you can prepare your pet for surgery, which we had read up on. We took his food away at midnight. The next morning, we headed in at 7:30 and were the first people there. As a result, we were there for maybe 10 minutes. The paperwork is a single page and really didn't take long to complete at all. Boo had just had this shots in July, so we had proof of rabies and didn't have to get that shot. We came back around 5:15 and waited maybe another 10 minutes. Someone came out and talked to us about post-op procedures, what we should be doing and looking out for. She answered any questions we had and made sure we knew what to expect. For the procedure, extra pain meds, and an e-collar, the total was $60. That is insanely cheap! SOS saved me upwards of $400 on this procedure. Plus, I was expecting to have to give him the extra pain meds, but they gave it to him on-site, so it was yet another thing I didn't have to worry about. So far, Boo is doing great! He seemed a little drunk the first night back - falling over, stumbling around, growling and grumbling (which he never does). He was also trying to eat aluminum foil - clearly, he was a little disoriented. Today, he's back to his normal self (although he HATES his e-collar!) If any issues arise, there is an emergency number we can call to talk about what's going on, which I appreciate.Overall, can't recommend SOS enough! Save yourself some money, time, and energy, and take your pet to SOS instead of your normal vet. Our experience was perfect! Read Less

A wild feral cat had kittens under my deck. The kittens are amazingly cute and I'm keeping them both, but cats can multiply rapidly with around 3 litters per year of 2-5 kittens, and their kittens can start to do the same at 6 months old, so spay/neuter is important to prevent explosive growth. Trapping feral cats is not a sure thing (though the Havahart 1079 trap made it pretty easy for me), so keeping an appointment could be kind of difficult. This vet takes ferals without an appointment (but pets do require one). You humanely trap it when you can, and bring it in. The receptionist and vets were very professional and courteous and asked good questions to be sure the mom's kittens were not in danger. I chose precisely the services I wanted on the form they provided and they did not try to up-sell me a cazillion tests like chain-store vets do. Price was pretty good. SOS is a much needed service for Central Ohio offering low cost spay, neuter, and vaccines. They offer special rates for rescues and 'employ' OSU vets/students from what I can tell. They are nice enough and pretty much a revolving door operation. You make an appointment and drop your pet off between 7-9 and then pick them up between 4-6. Lily did fine and had no complications. So, no complaints other than that a microchip was requested and they did not give her one. Not a big deal, they're busy and it happens. From what I've heard, SOS and Columbus Dog Connection are the best places for this type of service. So, if you need an affordable option, check with SOS! Read Less

Dropped the pup off in the morning, filled out paperwork, picked him up after work at 5, and the total cost was $106. This was for two immunizations, rabies vaccine, frontline plus application, and neutering. There's no taxes on sales either.  Very cheap, good service, and I hear they have clinics to get immunizations each month as well. Read Less

I visited SOS of Ohio on a recommendation from a co-worker. I had called several vets close to me who told me that neutering was over $250! We went to SOS and it was less than $60 for neutering and shots for our cat.They were very friendly and you can tell that they genuinely care about the animals they help. I dropped off my kitten in the morning and waited perhaps 40 minutes. When my boyfriend picked him up, he waited probably another 40 minutes. In the future, I would definitely arrive early to reduce my wait time.I definitely recommend SOS of Ohio. I had a great experience there and am so thankful for their services! Read Less

SOS of Ohio offers low-cost spays and neuters, as well as a few other services such as microchipping. In all, it cost $100 for my dog's spay, pain meds and e-collar. This was hundreds of dollars cheaper than my regular vet and other vets that I talked to.You have to drop off your pet early in the morning and then pick him/her up later that evening. I would recommend getting there towards the beginning of the drop-off period, otherwise you might be waiting for a while.The staff was friendly and you can't beat the price. My pup was back to her normal spunky self in a few days and her incision healed up beautifully. I have no complaints.Just a note: They will tattoo a small green line on your pet's belly to indicate that he/she has been fixed. This is to prevent any animal from being opened up again later on as SOS of Ohio works with a lot of rescue groups. Read Less
