I booked an emergency visit here over one weekend for a cat who had fallen very ill. First, there's an automatic charge for emergency visits.
When we arrived, the place appeared pretty empty. We were immediately let into an exam room, where we waited more than 20 minutes. The vet finally arrived - she was friendly, engaging - and after checking our cat over, she said she would make up a price sheet of recommended tests to run. After another 20 minutes, someone arrived with the sheet. We decided on a few and were told it would be about 15 more minutes and if it would take longer, they would come let us know.
No one came, and roughly 45 minutes later (I timed all this), the vet returned. She believed there was fluid in our cat's lungs and that she had pneumonia - pretty serious thing, although we did not know how serious at the time because she explained very little. She also asked precious little questions. For all that she was friendly, I got the impression that she was doing the bare minimum the situation called for. They did not even shave or clean the area where she had a large growth they took samples from - just gave her back slowly oozing blood all over into her white fur.
After a fluid injection, an appetite stimulant, and some take home antibiotics, our cat showed no improvement whatsoever. I called them at one point for advice on trying to get her to eat. We'd been syringe feeding her just to keep her alive (dangerous, but she'd have died without it) but it wasn't enough. I talked to someone new who, after listening to me and reviewing the file, told me, "Don't do that. Just give her wet food. Make it stinky."
Yeah, lady. I was just syringe feeding her for fun. Why didn't I think of that?
We took her to our normal vet when the week came. They asked to see the x-rays taken here and, after several calls from both myself and the clinic (where they either promised to send them and didn't or simply didn't pick up the phone) we finally got PART of the results sent to our clinic - apparently only the certified vets can send the actual x-rays.
And at our clinic, after having the x-rays redone, they found no sign of fluid in the lungs yet she was still horrible ill. She showed immediate improvement after their steroids, however.
They gave me no confidence in their abilities, knowledge, or empathy. They were expensive - we spent several hundred dollars on that trip - and the only useful part of it was the fluids. I would only return here if I had no other choice. Read Less
