Animal Md Michelle Bahns Dvm

Dayton, Ohio
General Info
Animal Md Michelle Bahns Dvm in Dayton strives to provide comprehensive care for all pets throughout the region. The clinic is located in Dayton, United States. The knowledgeable team provides individualized health plans, routine check-ups, and extensive treatments to ensure well-being. Services usually include Internal Medicine, Pocket Pet Care, Dermatology, Boarding, In-House Pharmacy, Vaccinations, and Dental Care. These procedures are performed with high precision, targeting prevention and addressing specific concerns. The center is well equipped, and animal anxiety is minimized during visits, which leads to accurate diagnosis and treatment. Clients often comment on the caring and communicative nature of the veterinary staff, which helps to build long-term trust and ensures pets receive ongoing care. Animal Md Michelle Bahns Dvm continues to grow as a cornerstone of the Dayton pet-owning community. Whether it is the issue of helping the young pets get on track or helping them to manage chronic conditions as they age, the professionals at this clinic are always willing to help. Their desire to learn more about animals, which fuels them to know about the latest trends in veterinary medicine. This ensures that every pet receives the highest standards of care. It is also committed to educating the public on responsible pet ownership and actively engages with the local community. At Animal Md Michelle Bahns Dvm in Dayton, posture and micro-movements are key. Tail loss during peaceful times and taking a step back to reset are examples of things to pay attention to. The session starts with spatial reading to notice where the pet's weight is anchored the most, how many times its eyes look around, and whether its tail moves hesitantly or steadily. In such cases, the staff members “read” their positions and choose to stand diagonally from animals (rather than toward them) when directionality creates tension, or pause the dialogue (rather than speak) when animals are too attuned. Pets use inanimate tools which are within their view to help them adjust to the environment, even before they start interacting with it. Animal MD Michelle Bahns DVM executes diagnostics for integrative pain tracking and sensory response care, and mobility rehabilitation setups alongside surgical consultations. Every treatment process slightly changes itself during its operation. When a pet’s body goes flat or eyes are shifting somewhere, it is back to the basics of anchoring; and then achiever employs patterned body movements or rhythmic stepping. Owners receive an aftercare plan that emphasizes pacing the animal by hand movements in side arcs, adding a second contrast movement, and reentering the routine with visual targets. This mechanism ensures no excessive post-visits which might affect the care at home. Animal Md Michelle Bahns Dvm provides the exclusive care experience to Dayton families and Ohio pet owners by utilizing silent signals, and adaptive responsive pacing for interaction.

I can only provide a review for Dr. Boller and the techs/office staff, as I have never met Dr. Bahns. That being said, this vet's office is an absolute godsend in my life. I went through a very stressful two weeks with our dog, culminating in the most difficult, painful decision I have ever had to make. Dr. Boller and staff showed me so much compassion, consideration, and empathy during this time. I have a lot of faith in Dr. Boller and was comforted by her opinion of our circumstance. I just can't say enough how much I appreciate everyone I have encountered here so far, and we will definitely continue to take our furry family members to this caring, loving, skilled vet's practice. Our dog was recently put to sleep at this facility, and MD Michelle Bahns showed close to no compassion or kindness for something that was already a very difficult situation for our family. I never write reviews, but I think it’s important for people to be aware that this could happen to them on an already very emotionally trying day. She made a family member feel truly guilty for the death of our elderly dog, and forced my family to OPENLY SAY that we would NEGLECT our very loved dog and deny her the suggested medicine in order for the vet to be able to sleep at night after putting her down. This is the most disrespectful and inappropriate behavior I could imagine from a professional veterinarian regardless of merit, and I was blown away something so abhorrent could be projected onto a family losing a loved one. Furthermore, she was condescending, patronizing, and suggested we were lying about our dog’s state when she had never seen her before (this was a first visit to her office). She assumed we were lying, and didn’t bother to respect our knowledge on our dog’s long-term suffering. I’m glad to see others have had positive experiences, but I’ve personally never been so disappointed in customer service from any facility, veterinarian or not. It’s shameful. No bedside manners at all. Read Less

I started with Animal MD in their previous location. I had just moved back to Ohio in 2006 and my girls (6 yr old cats, littermates, Lilly and Jasmine) needed reliable compassionate care. And I needed a vet office that accepted I was crazy about my girls. Since that time, we've been through some challenges and Animal MD was there for us. My Lilly was diagnosed with liver failure. Animal MD presented me with options from compassionate care to surgical options. They were honest, their consulting doctors were honest, and in the end we opted for caring for her until the inevitable. The inevitable occurred the day after my grandmother passed. I woke up with a cat in full jaundice and Animal MD saw us that morning to help me say good bye to my little friend. Jasmine has been battling Chronic Renal Failure for 3.5 years. Without Animal MD, she would be gone too. The ER vet was less than encouraging about Jasmine's prognosis but Animal MD has helped me get her back to normal labs with regular treatments - some at home, some in office. She's thriving more than any of us expected. Animal MD has been there through my search for new companions. When I adopted two babies, they were going to spay and neuter them but they recommended a program at SICSA that allowed me to get them taken care of for a great price. Much needed savings with two new kitties! Animal MD has helped with every health concern. Even when I'm a crazed cat woman - they help me make good decisions and work with me on all of our options. Without them I'd be unable to take care of these three as well as I've been able. They've treated my kitties like family and me, too!! I wouldn't take them anywhere else for care! Read Less

I am very disappointed that I have to leave this review but I feel like I owe it to people who would potentially be bringing their pets to Animal M.D. I will start with the positive things I can say which are that I love their receptionist Valery and I miss her. She's incredible at her job and very friendly. Dr. Bahns is an amazing surgeon and if you can afford  $1000 or more for a surgery then you should go to her for that specifically. Now onto the negative things. My family and I spent thousands of dollars on what turned out to be unnecessary tests on my dog. I got frustrated and switched to a different vet who diagnosed my dog's problem and prescribed a medication that cured her after taking it for two weeks. My new vet was appalled at all of the tests we had put my dog through and had to call Animal M.D. when she noticed that what we were told were the most critical test results were missing even though they were supposed to send over everything. Once our new vet saw the results she told us her professional opinion was that something didn't add up and she felt the results were falsified to force us to pay them even more money for even more unnecessary tests. My dog did have a liver problem but it was no where near as serious as Animal M.D. was leading me to believe. My new vet figured out she had gotten hepatitis from eating something toxic such as a mushroom outside and cured her.I feel awful that I took my dog there for so many years and put her through so much that she shouldn't have been put through. Noy only is my new vet more competent and caring, she is also more affordable and doesn't charge more money for office calls if your pet is a senior. I love this office. Both doctors are smart, understanding and only care about the best interest of the animal. I know I sound like a crazy cat lady but I'm 25 and have my first pet cats ever. This office answered every stupid question I had without making me feel dumb. They charge a fair price and they know what they're doing. My cat needed a FHO surgery and they took excellent care of her. I also love the fact neither vets brought up declawing (I'm strongly against it) when I brought my kittens in. The office is clean, the staff is friendly and the techs are smart. They have a pet bulletin board, easy parking, dog day care and every once in awhile have kittens that need forever homes.Read Less

I was going to Dr. Apt long before Dr. Bahn took over the practice. Once upon a time this was a fine place and I had complete trust in Dr. Bahn. That changed when she moved next to S.C.I.S.A. on Wilmington. Her family struggles may have impacted the practice, but she seemed to no longer have her heart in the work. This is relatively recent, once she cared, now it's all about the money. They are more expensive than other Veterinary Clinics, and you see less and less of Doctor Bahns. The empty parking lot make speak to the changes. When I asked for a copy of the PRE SURGERY CHECKLIST, I got everything but what I asked for. When she felt I may change Vet Services, I received 1 phone call. I had been taking my cats to her for years and that's the depth of her caring. I am sorry but I would not go back. I will be going to a different vet. My experience may be mine alone, but somehow I doubt it. I now notice they have a new updated web page. They mention that the practice once belonged to Dr. Apt. He was a great Vet and that is who I saw before his passing and Dr. Bahn took over the practice. To trade on his name now shows that the current practice may be suffering. I don't know but something is missing. Read Less

I'd like to thank the wonderful staff here for taking such good care of our "furbabies". Barsky the Wonderdog recently had to have his leg amputated, and they have shown a consistent level of quality care and compassion through it all. He has made quite an impressive comeback in the past few weeks, and we are grateful for your dedication to seeing him heal and thrive. The daily calls post surgery to check in on him were unexpected, but appreciated so much also. Kudos to y'all from the Grimes family! Read Less

Read Less

I have not been to this clinic, but had dealings w/Dr. Bahns when she was with Northridge Animal Clinic. She was very good with our Mals, knowledgeable, friendly, and never rushed through appointments. We were happy she was able to start her own clinic, but sad to see her leave. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with choosing her for your animals' care. Read Less
