In May my Newfoundland was taken to Suburban Vet for an infection. She had lost 30 pounds. Vet put her on antibiotics and ran comprehensive blood test. All ok. In June she started limping. Suburban vet said torn or sprained acl. Give it a few weeks. Went to another vet clinic for consult after worsening limp. No torn acl but she did have bone cancer. She died two months later. Suburban vet was negligent in their examination and diagnosis. Will not return after being a customer for ten years.

This is now my Permanent Exotic Vet!! Wednesday morning I noticed my pet rat Taz (Yes I said pet rat lol) was drooling and looked very dazed out and was breathing very fast and heavy and then very slow again. She was so weak with her eyes stuck open I honestly thought this was it for her an began crying and saying my goodbyes to my sweet little sidekick.. But after about an hour an a half of that she got up and began breathing normally. I didn't head to the vet right away when all this first started because I didn't want her to die stressed out in the car. I called the vet I've been going to for over a decade now and they only have one vet that sees pet rats and of course they weren't in on that Wednesday. After calling more than 10+ vet clinics
I found Suburban Veterinary Clinic and was able to make an appt for 3pm the same day even with Taz being a new patient. Very beautiful an spotless clinic that turned out being 15 mins from my house, my other vet is a 40 min drive one way. There was an out of control dog in the waiting area that was literally screeching an barking non stop making the whole lobby echo extremely loud and terrorizing the other animals there while the owner did absolutely nothing to calm and stop her dog .. just as I was about to say something a staff member came over and led me to a quit exam room, thank God for her!! my poor sick rat was so petrified of the barking she was shaking. The vet that saw Taz was very professional and genuinely cared about my girl. He did a thorough exam and told me if it happens again to just call him. Let me add that once she snapped out of it back at home she began to act completely normal so we both suspected it was a one time thing. I was charged a very reasonable office fee and nothing else. In the future Suburban Veterinary Clinic will be where I bring all of my Exotics!!! My Ball Pythons, Tegu, ferret, and my other rats. I highly recommend this place and their customer service/compassion is on another level!!!

We have two cats and only good things to say about the doctors and staff here. Very personable and informative care. Be it for a visit or on the phone, everyone is very kind and accommodating. No cat enjoys going to the vet but the doctors and staff do their best to make the visit as stress free as possible. Have been extremely pleased with our experience.

Dr. Koesters was an amazing vet for our dog, Rosco from when he was a puppy until we had to put him down a few months ago. Rosco did not like a lot of people, but every time Dr. Koesters came in his tail would start wagging and he was so happy to see him. The whole clinic helped us so much with our dog through his entire 13 years. And you can tell all of the staff cares deeply about animals, when Rosco was being put to sleep, the techs were crying too. Whenever I get another dog, I will come back here. Thank you all so much, and I’m sure Rosco thanks you all too.

As someone who has worked for Vet Hospitals and have taken my cats to various different Vet hospitals I can say with confidence this place is amazing. All their doctors are extremely attentive and great with all animals. I have a cat with chronic illnesses and struggled with finding a doctor that could help him and I got extremely lucky finding this hospital. He is doing so much better and they easily alleviated my stress and worries. This is a wonderful place of animal care and I highly recommend it.

Friendly staff! Waiting area is clean, has play area for kids and complimentary coffee. We boarded our pet for a week, they took great care of him and it was very affordable.

The best veterinary clinic! Dr. Hoying is amazing, knowledgeable, professional and caring. Cannot recommend highly enough. She has helped us twice. Once in determining our St. Bernard did not need to be on thyroid medication another vet sold us down the river on, and recently by doing emergency stitches on our puppy who had a very bad cut. They worked us in right away and took care of him like he was their own. I would give 10 stars if I could.

This place is great! They have knowledgeable considerate staff who thoroughly take care of their clients and their best friends.
Suburban Vet is very flexible with their scheduling and are able to accomadate busy schedules with multiple various appointment times.
I recommend them without hesitation.
Anybody looking for compassionate professional care should consider making this their vet of choice!

Our dog became a patient of Dr. J.K. Guarasci in 2010. She was transferred to Dr. Lokai a few years later after Dr. Guarasci left Suburban Veterinary Clinic.
Last October (2016) we took her to the clinic because she had been vomiting. Dr. Lokai recommended a biopsy of the lymph nodes in her neck based on a high white blood cell count, and feeling that at least one of the lymph nodes was swollen. We paid $200 to have her biopsied by Dr. Lokai. He called a few days later to say that her salivary glands (not her lymph nodes) had been biopsied. He said that we could pay $400 for a different type of biopsy, or $50 for another blood test. He made no apologies for the error in the attempt to biopsy the lymph nodes, and no offer to reimburse us for it. Since our dog had not been sick since before the first visit, he commented that her glands were probably just swollen from an infection. He never recommended that we take her to specialist that would be more qualified to do a biopsy.
She became ill again in January (2017), and we took her to a different veterinary clinic. They referred us to board-certified specialists at Medvet, who diagnosed her with Stage 4 lymphoma.

While visiting family in December, my Jack Russell Terrier got sick. He wouldn't eat or drink and had lost almost 2 pounds in a very short period of time. We had visited a vet in our now hometown of Mesa, Arizona and that appeared to fix him right up. But he relapsed the Saturday after Christmas. Suburban was open early that morning. They did much of the same treatment as Schooner received in Phoenix and that did the trick. Within a day or two he was eating and drinking normally. I hope never to need to need Suburban Veterinary Clinic again, but next time we're visiting friends and family in Centerville, if need be, I will bring Schooner here. Than you!

Today we had to let our beloved pet of 16 years be put to sleep. Our Vet, Dr. Brown was gone this week. We were anxious about having someone other than him help us say goodbye to this sweet animal. Dr. Koesters stepped in and both he and the staff could not have been more kind and comforting to us and our pet. Thanks to all of you, (especially Dr. Brown,) for the terrific care we came to know from all of you.

We couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Hoying is a fantastic vet. She has gone far beyond the norm on multiple occasions. Most recently, when we moved out of the area, she worked closely with us to ensure that our sick pet was properly cared for during the transition. She even made herself availiable over the phone (as necessary) until we found a vet in our new location. SHE IS THE BEST, A REAL PRO!

Although the vet herself was great - the front desk and office policies are awful. Arrived at my appointment 10 minutes before my scheduled time, with all completed paperwork - then waited 40 minutes...
Although the vet herself was great - the front desk and office policies are awful. Arrived at my appointment 10 minutes before my scheduled time, with all completed paperwork - then waited 40 minutes - while 7 other people came in and were seen. When I finally asked about the status of my appointment - 30 minutes after I was due to have been seen, I was told by the front desk that their policy is to lie (she used the word "tell" not lie) to new clients and tell them their appointment time is 30 minutes before the time they are actually scheduled so that they arrive on time and can complete any needed paperwork. It was absolutely insulting and a tremendous waste of my time. Obviously the vet/owners feel that their time is far more valuable than that of their clients. I now am suspicious of their care, pricing and anything else they tell me. Not a great way to start a relationship!

This is now my Permanent Exotic Vet!! As someone who has worked for Vet Hospitals and have taken my cats to various different Vet hospitals I can say with confidence this place is amazing. All their doctors are extremely attentive and great with all animals. I have a cat with chronic illnesses and struggled with finding a doctor that could help him and I got extremely lucky finding this hospital. He is doing so much better and they easily alleviated my stress and worries. This is a wonderful place of animal care and I highly recommend it.
