Fox Veterinary Hospital, located in Elyria, is committed to delivering comprehensive and empathetic care to pets within the community. The clinic is located in Elyria, United States. The experienced team provides personalized wellness plans, regular check-ups, and a wide range of treatments tailored to each pet’s needs. Services frequently encompass Laboratory, Nutritional Counseling, In-House Pharmacy, Hospice and Palliative Care, Wellness Plans, Homeopathy and Boarding. These treatments are performed with attention to detail and focus, caring for both prevention and counteraction. The better the facility, the more accurate the diagnosis, and the treatment will likely be. Clients often highlight the caring and attentive nature of the veterinary staff, which builds trust and ensures pets receive consistent support throughout their lives. Fox Veterinary Hospital embraces the fundamental principles established by Dr. Fox and proudly continues to be a cornerstone practice in the Elyria pet-owning community as it grows and evolves. The professionals are always ready to help, whether it is giving young pets a healthy start in life or ensuring that elderly pets with chronic conditions receive the care they need. Their love for animals motivates them to constantly learn and keep abreast of the latest developments in veterinary care. It ensures that the pets get the best possible care. It also actively promotes owner involvement and responsible pet ownership. Every consult at Fox Veterinary Hospital in Elyria is an elaborate dance where the pauses and steps are timed and the steps allow for breathing. This model aids in ensuring quality pet care throughout Ohio. Upon arrival, pets are given the freedom to explore their surroundings. Scent-mapping, slow movements and only partial engagement are just fine. The clinical team monitors how the animal reacts to various floor textures, ceiling sounds and objects close to the ground. Each visit is unique and does not repeat itself. Some visits start with the veterinarian palpating the pet, others through visual examination or social interaction and so on. Pet owners are asked to share details such as the pet’s favorite resting spots at home, noises the pet avoids, and any changes in mealtime routines. Fox Veterinary Hospital maintains services like injury evaluation, immune system diagnostics, muscle elasticity checks, sensory aversion handling, and chronic illness co-management. Examination setup shifts upon cycles, freeze cue, gaze loss, or limb retraction. Every test room has manipulables such as stools, lamps, and partitions to block distractions. The caregiving process ends not with the procedure but with decompression. Pets have a chance to readjust their senses and feelings before departure. Owners are given “behavioral pacing” guidelines explaining how long to wait before reintroducing items and describing when they can offer food or touch and the signs that a horse is emotionally delayed or physically sore. The Fox Veterinary Hospital assists pets from Elyria and its surrounding Ohio regions to ensure that every aspect of hospital visits – from entrance to treatment and subsequent recovery – adheres to the principles of animal movement, space, and sequential awareness.

We called for a walk -in appointment. Our 10- year-old golden had gone through vomiting and diarrhea over the weekend. Our stool sample was sent to the lab when we signed in. Dr. Speck examined her and recommended a boiled chicken and rice diet. He gave us an antibiotic and anti- spasm anti-diarrhea meds to bring the diarrhea to a halt. After 20 plus years of taking my pets there and recommending family and friends, I have changed veterinarians. My dog was having a problem with his skin. They wanted me to wait 3 weeks. I call another veterinarian and the got me in the next day. Also, I called to get my daughter's cat in on an emergency basis. I was willing to pay the same day fee, except they refused to see him. The receptionist said they were closing in an hour. I should have tried to schedule the emergency better (yes, I'm being sarcastic). Sadly, her cat had to be put down. I'm not saying they could have done anything, but they didn't even try. That was the last straw from a very long list of reasons I left. Read Less

My dog had a seizure today. I am very upset with the quality or lack there of care I received when I called Fox Veterinary. I was told in order to bring my dog in I would have to pay an emergency fee of $250.00. I could understand this if I called after hours, this was 3:30 in the afternoon. This made me feel they care more about making money then taking care of my animal.Read Less
