I had an appointment on 11/15/17. My dog had a loose stool and needed worming medicine. They do fecal exam and tell me no news is good news. Meaning if they dont call it mean my dog is fine.... So 11/24/17 I go back to vet because same dog has a hot spot that she keeps digging at and ripping the scab open. As soon as the vet walks in she tells me that my dogs fecal exam from 9 days prior showed she had 2 parasites. So I asked, Why didnt you guys call and tell me that? I was told no news is good news. The vet tells me they probably didnt call because they sent me home with the medicine.. IF YOU ASK ME, I should not be charged for a test if I am not going to get the results.. no news is good news failed and wasted my money...... End of December or first week of January. I dont remember because i lost my bill. On the website they advertise $10 nail grinding, so I take my two dogs to get there nails trimmed. Both my dogs are show dogs so they are perfectly trained to get groomed and nails trimmed. This was the first time in 5 years that someone new trimmed there nails. so the vet tech does there nails and told me how well behaved my dogs was. So I say thank you and go to pay... my bill for 2 nail trim was $44. it took 5 minutes for both dogs. I look at the bill and the charge $16 for nail trim and $11 more for a nail grind. I said to the cashier that the website says $10 how are you charging $44? They tell me it a different location so I responded with but its the same website. After much complaining I was charged the $10 as advertised. So if a full groom for my dog averages $50-70 at a groom shop and it takes 2 hours for a full groom on a golden retriever. how can a vet charge $16 plus $11 so that $27 for 3 minute nail trim. needless to say I wont be back Read Less

Last week I had to put my dachshund (Sam) down. It was the worst experience of my life. Dr. Monica was so kind and understanding to me and my daughter. When I called to make the appointment the receptionist was so patient with me because I was so upset. When we arrived the staff made us feel like they were all giving us big hugs. After the procedure when we was leaving the greeter at the door hug us both and was crying with us. I got a free spa day with my insurance package so I dropped my Great Pyrenees off to get bathed. They had her for 5 hours, but when I picked her up she was wet and smelled worse than she did when I dropped her off. I thought it was just a wet dog smell, but when she dried off she still smelled terrible. They didn't even wash her, they just sprayed her down. Took my new rescue dog here after being told on the phone they had a $30 Spa special for a bath, clip and ear clean. When making the appointment I told them it was a new dog that has not been there before and they said it would be $30. So I got up early, took my wife to work and went to drop off around 8:00. When I got there with all his up to date shot papers I was told he would also need a $23 flu shot and a $20 exam along with the $30 spa " special ". He was only there for the spa special.... not to be boarded there! These extra costs should have been explained up front not at check in! I would never have taken him there if I knew that! Read Less

Animal Care Centers took care of my beloved dog Dexter for 11 years. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about the staff and Doctors. Dexter was treated by both Dr Wendy and Dr Monika and they always treated him as if he was family. Throughout his many surgeries and procedures they always kept me informed and calm. Brought my kitten I found last summer in yesterday. He was bitten by another animal and now has an abscess on his leg. The caregivers and veterinarian was very quick, thorough and informing of everything that was happening to him and what I needed to do to make him feel better. I have scheduled another appointment for him to be neutered this week and I'm confident everything will be ok. The Wellness Plan is has already saved me hundreds of dollars in care expenses and it gives me the peace of mind of not worrying about having huge bills in the future if my little baby gets in trouble again! We just started going here in March of this year, primarily because we had a new puppy and they recommended we go here for vaccinations. We are so happy we did. In a short time, they have made a big impression. They are the best and have treated all of our animals with care. The staff, techs, and vets are so nice and you can tell they love the animals they care for. We have used the wellness plan and it has saved us money as well as giving us peace of mind. We have also used their boarding services and have been pleased with it. We can vacation without worry. Our decision to move all of our animals' care here was solidified after having to euthanize one of our cats in August. We had to take her to the Forest Park location to get her in as soon as possible. The compassion they showed was so comforting as they helped us say goodbye even though we had never met them nor had they met Rascals. The last few months our 10 year old dog had been struggling and Dr. Katrina tried everything to give him comfort and heal him. She and other vets took time to explain everything and answer any questions we had. Yesterday she helped Scruffy cross the rainbow bridge when nothing else could be done. Our family will be forever grateful for how they helped us in such a difficult and sad time. We know veterinarians and boarding facilities are businesses, but we have never felt that our animals best interest was not at the forefront. I would not recommend boarding your dog here! I made a reservation online after visiting in person, and called the day before drop off to confirm pricing. I dropped my dog off the next day only to be told he HAS to receive the K9 influenza series to be boarded. NO mention of this up front after they had his compete records provided. They charged $50+ for the first shot alone! This is a "gotcha!" they tacked on when I'm standing at the counter ready to leave. It's only effective if he gets the series of shots- which they admit- but he HAD to have just the first one for their in-house boarding requirement?? They forced me to remove his harness and attempted to control him on a small slip leash when I dropped him off. When I picked my dog up he was noticeably stiff as a board and it is clear he did not get something soft to lay on or the extra play time I paid extra for. I also noticed after picking him up audible creaking and popping in his joints. It took three days of exercise and physical therapy to get him back to himself!! My pooch is a former police K9 recruit and deserves at least what I paid for. He had a knee surgery and extensive PT earlier this year and it was infuriating that he regressed so much in just 5 days under their "care." They filled out a "report card" of behaviors but I assure you knowing this dog for 6 years, this paper is nothing more than a forged sense of security and was completely inaccurate. Today in the mail I get an "important reminder" that he is overdue for vaccines (NOT true- another lie!) and the next shot for flu. This was after I had to argue with the receptionist that he doesn't need a new vet, they were to simply board him. Look out back and check them out better before letting your animal stay here. I sure as hell wish I did. They have no play area; are very near the busy Rt. 4 highway, dishonest employees, pricing games, steer clear!! Read Less

Stay away!  Dishonest front desk staff.I selected this clinic because they were listed in the Pet Assure network and they could do a same-day appointment.  Pet Assure promises 25% off Office Visits & Exams and Vaccines & Shots, and any other medical service and procedure!, "they will give you 25% off your bill, no questions asked."  I phoned the clinic yesterday to get the pricing, and didn't ask about the Pet Assure program until after I got their regular pricing, and this is not a Pet Assure complaint. I was quoted an office visit price of $40.  I was presented with a bill for over $400, when I asked about the discount they looked at the itemized bill and said it was "already included", a lie from the start.  I paid the bill (kids were running around in the lobby, and my pup was getting excited), so I went to my car and read the itemized bill.Although I was quoted a $40 price for an office visit, I was charged $42.19 (perhaps the gal I spoke with the day before meant $42 or approx. $40).  Clearly there was no 25% discount (why would they even say that the discount was "built in", couldn't they see that it was full price?  They refunded me $10.55.  If I hadn't called the day before I never would have known they lied and over-charged.However, they cheated me out of another $35.79, refusing to honor the Pet Assure discount.  They should have discounted all services provided in the clinic, including the injections, sample collection preparation, and ear swab (total of $143.18); again the front desk personnel said the "ear swab"(where they put samples on glass slides) wasn't considered a "lab", well then it should have been considered an "exam".  They said the injections were "medicine" and wouldn't discount that either, even though Pet assure says "shots" are included, but take-home meds are not.NOTE:  When I agreed to "lab work", I expected a CBC, but an "Organ Function Profile" was also billed for, total $116.54.  This blood work is sent to an outside lab, so it wasn't discount-able.  Also, in the past I've never paid over $40 for the Convenia injection; this clinic charged $79.49.  And, in case you're adding this up, there were take-home meds of $96.85, not discountable, and a medical waste fee of $2.50.I contacted Pet Assure, and they agreed that at a minimum the shots and any other services should have been included in the discount; they are attempting to contact the clinic.How was the vet visit?  Well, if the front desk personnel are dishonest, there are other vets.  I am thankful this was not an "emergency" visit, dealing with that emotion, and having to deal with dishonest staff. I used this veterinarian for the first time recently. Having been around the block a few times with veterinarians, this one seems to be worth it. I had no trouble getting an appointment booked for just a couple business days out, and the prices for services were reasonable. I had to get a blood test run on my cat, and it was only $150 - far less than the $250 I've paid at other vets. The veterinarian that saw me seemed very knowledgeable, and took time to listen to the symptoms and answer all my questions.One important item of note. I had stopped in here years ago to talk to them about possibly bringing my Siamese by. I don't know if it's still true, but it used to be that one of the vets at this facility has a specialty in feline diabetes. When 'Fairfield Animal Hospital' (as it used to be called) opened in the late 1980's, I had the pleasure of being 1 of Dr.Dave's first patients. Not for a moment will I ever regret that decision. I stayed thru 3 new buildings, various vets, associates etc....Throughout it all, not 1 bad experience. Dr. Dave now enjoys being able to tend to his little patients pretty much part-time. GOOD FOR HIM. He worked many years to build this place into the finest in the area. 1st we have Miss Cookie, Business Manager, who was there the 1st day I walked into the door. AND....STILL serves proudly and efficiently. Cookie, we all love you. Most recently, my beloved kitty, Mr. Snickers became gravely ill. TOTAL urinary blockage. He literally had only a couple of hours left to live. Now we have our precious Dr. Wendy to the rescue. She literally RAN out of the room with him. She immediately saw that his breaths were numbered. Dr. Wendy has cared for my other animals as well, and you could never find a more dedicated, caring Dr. on the planet. She always is honest and detailed in her explanations about the health of our children. And with such empathy. Even when one of our children must be assisted in going to their heavenly home, she never waivers in her devotion. My 'Snickie' had surgery the following day. The prognosis was very bad, but she never gave up. Thank God. Other Vets would have just put him down. Not our Dr. Wendy. She kept my Snickie for 8 days, allowed me to visit, attended to him as if he was her own child etc... Thank God and Dr Wendy, he is now on the mend. Prognosis is still not 'written in stone' that he will continue to thrive, but I do know this for sure. Even with the diseased bladder etc...if there is ANY way to save my son, Dr Wendy will do everything possible. She allows me to be with him during certain procedures, because she understands how important it is to him and to me. I AM his Mommy. She is a blessing to behold. Her instincts are incredible. Dr. Wendy will stay with you through thick and thin, and ALWAYS tell you the truth. This I know. There is a special place in Heaven for Vets like Dr. Wendy. Yes, their services are very expensive, but how can you put a price on any of the above issues mentioned? THANK YOU DR. WENDY. I, Mr. Snickers, Miss Chrissy, Cupcake, Puddytat, Miss Jewel and all of my other children would just like to say thank you for giving them the very best care that medicine has to offer. I couldn't ask for a better veterinarian for my pets. Every time I come in I am greeted with a smile. The receptionists, technician, and doctors all take such good care of my 'kids'.
