Bronx and Cali (bulldog/lab mix/bro and sis) have been going to GAH for 6 years since they were puppies. My 2 kids always liven up the party when they visit (Cali has Taurettes) and their health is always my biggest concern. GAH has done 2 ACL surgeries on Cali and Bronx is always being treated for ear infections and his allergies to ragweed. The entire staff takes really good care of my kids. The most scariest time was when Cali had to be treated for pancreatitis...I couldn't keep her food down. Dr. Rich got my girl thru it and answered every stressful email to make sure I was doing everything correctly to get Cali better. And shout out to everyone at the front desk for being amazing and hilarious!

The vet lied about the cost. He said he would fill the prescription for 30 days worth and I said just 5 days would be fine and he gave me 7. He said the medication for my dog was about a dollar a day and it was more than double that at $2.22. They may have made some extra cash off of me today, but they have lost a customer for life. They also charged me 60 dollars for a ear infection medicine that I could have ordered online for $25.

We see Dr. Rich who is awesome and always has a smile on her face and answers any questions that I may have. The staff are always caring and attentive as well. My pet has gotten sick 3 times with bordetella after being at daycare and boarded here. Its concerning because this is the only place he goes other than our house and is not around other dogs. I don't understand because this place requires more vaccines than many others around town. I am concerned they are cashing in on vaccines and not concerned about the health of my pet. I hate that I have to write this as this clinic is convenient, I just feel the excessive vaccines are not really making a difference other than monetary gain

I came to Dr. Rich because I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy that I suspected of having Dermoid Sinus. I knew that Dr. Rich also is a respected breeder of Ridgebacks. Not many vets are familiar with the breed and DS can be life threatening. I really liked that Dr. Rich conducted her exam on the ground. She took her time with us and answered all the questions I had. I was overjoyed to find out Nova was DS free. I had an enjoyable experience and would recommend this vet.

This review is for the actual veteranary care, which in my opinion is outstanding. At the last place I went before, which was for years, they would use gloves on my cat and muzzle my dog, but here they take a bit of time to love on the pets and get them comfortable. My dog was examined and given shots with no fight what-so-ever. Whenever I call, the staff is very knowledgeable, caring and nice. I've only had one encounter where I felt a front desk worker was a little too abrasive, but I chalk it up to a bad day. I could not be happier that we found this place!!!

I've taken all of my animals here throughout my life and they are fantastic in every respect. I recently called GAH frantic about my cat and they had him in emergency surgery within 30 minutes. They took excellent care of him the following 4 days he was hospitalized, making sure he had clean bedding and lots of attention. I had to put my 15 year old dog down last year and they made the experience as painless as possible. The room was comfortable with bedding and soft light, not a stale exam room. They even took a stamp of my dog's paw print for me to remember her by. Great staff, great facility. Recommend 100%!

Our dog, Toast (Shiba Inu), has been a patient here for a year and a few months. We've had an overwhelmingly positive experience every time we've come in. Toast has gotten all of his shots here, he received puppy preschool training, he's been socialized through their daily daycare program, he's been boarded for a few weekends, he's had all his routine checkups here, and he's stopped in a time or two for an emergency visit when ill. Even with a bit more of a high-maintenance breed, all of the staff make our dog feel so loved and cared for; he's genuinely excited every time we go to the vet. Everyone knows our dog by name, and they recognize us when we come in. They're incredibly patient, honest, and genuine; we can trust that our dog is in great hands whenever he's there. We couldn't recommend any other vet more highly. Thank you for everything!

She saved my lab Murphy's life from liver failure. The staff always makes accommodations for my Rhodesian Ridgeback that is dog/cat aggressive for the safety of everyone. I would never go anywhere else!

I took my 13 year old Dachshund to Gahanna Animal Hospital back in June to remove a small lump from her neck and have her teeth cleaned. They called the day of the surgery and said that she needed 10 teeth pulled. I hesitantly agreed after the technician convinced me over the phone that this would definitely prolong her life. It turned out to be too much for a dog her age. She spent the next week at Medvets fighting for her life in an oxygen chamber. It cost me $10,000 to keep her alive and she never was the same dog. 4 months later I had to put her down. She was in obvious discomfort and I was desperate to have her euthanized asap to minimize her pain. I called Gahanna Animal Hospital because the at home vet I had planned to use was not available until 3 hours later. The technician from Gahanna Animal Hospital casually put me on hold for 5 or 10 minutes and came back to say "I'm sorry but our vet can't do an at home euthanasia today because she has no technician that can accompany her because we're short staffed". I gave my dog a pain pill that allowed her to rest comfortably until the at home vet (not from Gahanna Animal Hospital) could make it. She came ALONE. No tech was needed. No way will I ever step foot in Gahanna Animal Hospital again.

I have been taking our 4 dogs to Gahanna animal hospital for over 10 years. I love Dr. Harkins, she gets down on the floor to talk to them. She always checks everything and is willing to work with me to make the best decisions for our dogs to make them well and not break the bank. All the vets there are wonderful. The front desk doesn't make you stand there, they are always making sure you are being helped. They have hours to meet everyone's needs.

Took my 2 cats there for itchy ears. Everyone was incredibly friendly even on the phone when I was scheduling the appointment. Turns out what I was previously told was just allergies was ear mites! This vet actually looked in my boys' ears, swabbed them and checked for bacteria (which there was an infection) and also cleaned it all out! So happy they had an appointment so soon and were very helpful and nice! Definitely found my new vet in Columbus!

Run from this place as fast as you can. My dog was misdiagnosed and terribly suffered there for 8 hours. I received a call saying "he doesn't look good" and needs to be taken somewhere else. My dog walked in that morning but was in shock and near death when I picked him up. Another vet was not able to save my dog because "time was of the essence. " Had I not trusted this place, my dog would still be alive. However, Gahanna Animal Hospital was kind enough to send me a bill the day after putting my dog through hell and causing his death.

Their service is above and beyond and all the vets at GAH are incredibly knowledgeable in their field. All the Veterinarian Technicians have the kindest hearts and also are very knowledgeable. They all made me feel comfortable with tough decisions and never once made me feel like my decisions were the wrong ones. The ladies at the front desk are efficient at what they do and answer the phone as though they have a smile on their face.

I'm very disappointed at this place. They misdiagnosed our dog and when we had to take her back they charged us another office visit at a reduced price for there mistake. Shame on you. This place has been over priced and they have lied a few times to us just to get more money. Also at other vet locations they charge you one vet visit for multiple dogs and this place does not. Be careful. They have really friendly vets but it's not worth the price they charge.

I used the Gahanna Animal Hospital for the first time July 2016. I wanted a vet that was closer to my apartment and this vet office has extended hours. I paid $44.50 for a physical exam and didn't even receive a physical exam. The vet never took my dogs temperature, checked her body, or checked her mouth. My dog had itchy skin (she has skin allergies). He offered to give me another dose of flea medicine but I told him she already had her dose a week prior. He said "let me ask my co worker if it is ok".... then came back and said it was fine. The fact that he didn't know if it was safe or not to double dose flea medicine was concerning. The fact that they both came back and said it was OK to double dose is concerning too. The vet ended up giving my dog a steroid shot to help her skin. At check out they charged me $41 for the steroid shot! My pervious vet only charged $10 for the same shot. I will no longer be using this vet. I will drive the 30 minutes to my old vet to get great care at an affordable price.

We see Dr. Rich who is awesome and always has a smile on her face and answers any questions that I may have. The staff are always caring and attentive as well. I would highly recommend Gahanna Animal Hospital and will continue I'm taking my dog here.

Dr Rich is fantastic! She genuinely loves animals and takes the time to get to know them and relieve their anxiety. She is extremely knowledgeable and i trust her completely with my pets.

My pet has gotten sick 3 times with bordetella after being at daycare and boarded here. Its concerning because this is the only place he goes other than our house and is not around other dogs. I don't understand because this place requires more vaccines than many others around town. I am concerned they are cashing in on vaccines and not concerned about the health of my pet. I hate that I have to write this as this clinic is convenient, I just feel the excessive vaccines are not really making a difference other than monetary gain

I came to Dr. Rich because I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy that I suspected of having Dermoid Sinus. I knew that Dr. Rich also is a respected breeder of Ridgebacks. Not many vets are familiar with the breed and DS can be life threatening. I really liked that Dr. Rich conducted her exam on the ground. She took her time with us and answered all the questions I had. I was overjoyed to find out Nova was DS free. I had an enjoyable experience and would recommend this vet.

This review is for the actual veteranary care, which in my opinion is outstanding. At the last place I went before, which was for years, they would use gloves on my cat and muzzle my dog, but here they take a bit of time to love on the pets and get them comfortable. My dog was examined and given shots with no fight what-so-ever. Whenever I call, the staff is very knowledgeable, caring and nice. I've only had one encounter where I felt a front desk worker was a little too abrasive, but I chalk it up to a bad day. I could not be happier that we found this place!!!

I've taken all of my animals here throughout my life and they are fantastic in every respect. I recently called GAH frantic about my cat and they had him in emergency surgery within 30 minutes. They took excellent care of him the following 4 days he was hospitalized, making sure he had clean bedding and lots of attention. I had to put my 15 year old dog down last year and they made the experience as painless as possible. The room was comfortable with bedding and soft light, not a stale exam room. They even took a stamp of my dog's paw print for me to remember her by. Great staff, great facility. Recommend 100%!

Our dog, Toast (Shiba Inu), has been a patient here for a year and a few months. We've had an overwhelmingly positive experience every time we've come in. Toast has gotten all of his shots here, he received puppy preschool training, he's been socialized through their daily daycare program, he's been boarded for a few weekends, he's had all his routine checkups here, and he's stopped in a time or two for an emergency visit when ill. Even with a bit more of a high-maintenance breed, all of the staff make our dog feel so loved and cared for; he's genuinely excited every time we go to the vet. Everyone knows our dog by name, and they recognize us when we come in. They're incredibly patient, honest, and genuine; we can trust that our dog is in great hands whenever he's there. We couldn't recommend any other vet more highly. Thank you for everything!

I took my 13 year old Dachshund to Gahanna Animal Hospital back in June to remove a small lump from her neck and have her teeth cleaned. They called the day of the surgery and said that she needed 10 teeth pulled. I hesitantly agreed after the technician convinced me over the phone that this would definitely prolong her life. It turned out to be too much for a dog her age. She spent the next week at Medvets fighting for her life in an oxygen chamber. It cost me $10,000 to keep her alive and she never was the same dog. 4 months later I had to put her down. She was in obvious discomfort and I was desperate to have her euthanized asap to minimize her pain. I called Gahanna Animal Hospital because the at home vet I had planned to use was not available until 3 hours later. The technician from Gahanna Animal Hospital casually put me on hold for 5 or 10 minutes and came back to say "I'm sorry but our vet can't do an at home euthanasia today because she has no technician that can accompany her because we're short staffed". I gave my dog a pain pill that allowed her to rest comfortably until the at home vet (not from Gahanna Animal Hospital) could make it. She came ALONE. No tech was needed. No way will I ever step foot in Gahanna Animal Hospital again.

I have been taking our 4 dogs to Gahanna animal hospital for over 10 years. I love Dr. Harkins, she gets down on the floor to talk to them. She always checks everything and is willing to work with me to make the best decisions for our dogs to make them well and not break the bank. All the vets there are wonderful. The front desk doesn't make you stand there, they are always making sure you are being helped. They have hours to meet everyone's needs.

Took my 2 cats there for itchy ears. Everyone was incredibly friendly even on the phone when I was scheduling the appointment. Turns out what I was previously told was just allergies was ear mites! This vet actually looked in my boys' ears, swabbed them and checked for bacteria (which there was an infection) and also cleaned it all out! So happy they had an appointment so soon and were very helpful and nice! Definitely found my new vet in Columbus!

Run from this place as fast as you can. My dog was misdiagnosed and terribly suffered there for 8 hours. I received a call saying "he doesn't look good" and needs to be taken somewhere else. My dog walked in that morning but was in shock and near death when I picked him up. Another vet was not able to save my dog because "time was of the essence. " Had I not trusted this place, my dog would still be alive. However, Gahanna Animal Hospital was kind enough to send me a bill the day after putting my dog through hell and causing his death.

Their service is above and beyond and all the vets at GAH are incredibly knowledgeable in their field. All the Veterinarian Technicians have the kindest hearts and also are very knowledgeable. They all made me feel comfortable with tough decisions and never once made me feel like my decisions were the wrong ones. The ladies at the front desk are efficient at what they do and answer the phone as though they have a smile on their face.

I'm very disappointed at this place. They misdiagnosed our dog and when we had to take her back they charged us another office visit at a reduced price for there mistake. Shame on you. This place has been over priced and they have lied a few times to us just to get more money. Also at other vet locations they charge you one vet visit for multiple dogs and this place does not. Be careful. They have really friendly vets but it's not worth the price they charge.

I used the Gahanna Animal Hospital for the first time July 2016. I wanted a vet that was closer to my apartment and this vet office has extended hours. I paid $44.50 for a physical exam and didn't even receive a physical exam. The vet never took my dogs temperature, checked her body, or checked her mouth. My dog had itchy skin (she has skin allergies). He offered to give me another dose of flea medicine but I told him she already had her dose a week prior. He said "let me ask my co worker if it is ok".... then came back and said it was fine. The fact that he didn't know if it was safe or not to double dose flea medicine was concerning. The fact that they both came back and said it was OK to double dose is concerning too. The vet ended up giving my dog a steroid shot to help her skin. At check out they charged me $41 for the steroid shot! My pervious vet only charged $10 for the same shot. I will no longer be using this vet. I will drive the 30 minutes to my old vet to get great care at an affordable price.
