She has always managed to squeeze us in in an emergency. Our dogs are treated with respect & love during their visits. Today was our second visit, our first visit was a not so happy visit. Our regular vet who we have gone to for years was completely booked and recommended we call Dr. Hughes. We had to put our cat of 16 years down, the staff and Doctor were extremely compassionate and caring for someone they had never met. Then a week later we received a card in the mail. This is our 2nd time with visiting Brookside.. Our first visit wasn't a happy one when we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old husky. The office was caring Dr. Hughes was amazing took the time to explain the process and gave us the time we needed to say goodbye. This time around our 12 year old wiener dog had been extremely sick vomiting and bleeding from his bowels... We took him to an emergency clinic who wanted to charge us well over $700 for blood work and X-rays we left seeing Dr. Hughes the next day. He ran all the tests the emergency clinic wanted to do plus more, he did the X-rays he made pricing clear and up front before anything was done. Our Hank needed an overnight care with IV fluids and medications his staff and Dr. Hughes called me have me up dates the next day. Even with all the extras that were done and the overnight stay including the meds to take home we spent almost $200 less than what the other clinic wanted for just blood work and X-rays. We won't be going anywhere else to trust our beloved animals to. This office is far from "money hungry" they care as if these pets were there own.Read Less

When you have procedures paid for up front the doctor will absolutely speak with you. However this vet is all about money. God forbid someone have something happen in their life, and then their animal gets sick. Not willing to make payment arrangements, or work with you in any way. Obviously has no care for animals, just wants money. I know they have operating costs, but a lot of veterinarian offices allow payments. I will NEVER bring my babies here again, and hope if you do go here, you get better care, and compassion than I and my pet received. Read Less

Dr. Hughes is an amazing vet. He's personable and is amazing with the animals. My pets can be completely wired and nervous but as soon as he comes in they are calm and cooperative. He is an astounding vet and is willing to sit with you for a few extra minutes to answer any questions. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I 100% recommend this animal hospital. I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Hughes for over 12 years and have tried to switch to a vet that is closer to me since I moved but was not happy with the new vet.
