Run away!! The veternarien does not seem knowledgeable. If the issue is "obvious" like a physical cut, then you could expect it to be patched up nicely. But for serious issues, don't expect this veternarien to diagnose your loved ones. I lost my beloved due to an issue that may have been prevented had the veternarien looked further into it. I went in several times before and was assured the issue was just "allergies". And like a clueless person I trusted her. You shouldn't have to question your doctor. But as the issue persisted and got worse I took my beloved back and demanded she find out what was wrong or I was not leaving. That's when I found out my baby had a tumor growing inside his chest for God knows how long by the massive size of it. Her bedside manner were TERRIBLE. I was brought into the X-ray room and was blatantly told "there's an unknown mass inside your dogs chest....I can't even see his heart." And after noticing the shock on my face she rushed to say "it's probably there somewhere." ITS PROBABLY THERE SOMEWHERE ??! And then she proceeded to insist that my dog needed to be CUT OPEN to be diagnosed of the identity of the mass. She used those words. Before her assistant piped up about more conventional methods of diagnosing. Basically, she didn't know anything at all about what we were dealing with, handed me a brochure on a cancer facility and sent me out. No meds, no good lucks, no ANSWERS. The facility she directed me to had terrible reviews so I went on a hunt to find a different clinic, something I should have done ages ago if I had been wiser. I found Northridge, and there was a huge difference. Their doctors were able to tell me answers that this veternarien SHOULD have known. The staff is also quite rude. I walked in to make an appointment and the lady at the desk would not schedule one for me. She was no adament about "we don't do walk ins." So I asked to schedule an appointment. And she said "Well it's going to be a long wait. " And I said i didn't care, that this was an issue I needed solved. And she reluctantly looked through the schedule openings and said "The closest next available appointment is in15 mins". Who the hell do you think I am? That I can't wait 15 mins for the sake of my darling? Not only that, but as I was waiting those 15 mins out, I hear another lady at the opposite desk say to the desk lady I talked to, "Hey what time should I schedule this procedure for?" And she replied "Well, she (the veternarien I'm assuming) doesn't like working on Mondays. So schedule it sometime afterwards." WHAT??! Idk if veternariens are supposed to take some sort of oath to help animals to their best ability but I didn't know that included pushing off appointments due to personal preference. Anyways, you are better off going somewhere else. The facility is clean looking, but don't be fooled. Nobody actually cares. The prices are stacked high as well. I half blame myself for being ignorant and believing this was the way vets worked (it was my first time going to one). And I will forever half blame myself for my dog's death. Let's also not forget to mention she breeds a pair of Jack Russells in her backyard and sells her pups to Fetch. Who knows if she's even a vetted breeder. My dog was an Irish Jack Russell and she was devastated I was having him neutered. Wanted to breed him with her own. Who does that? I would hope to God she has her own dogs as well as any other dogs she asks to breed with hers are tested for genetic mishaps. I believe it's because the breeder I got my dog from was negligent in such that cancer even formed in my baby. Regardless of how, he might still be living today had she taken his symptoms seriously. But she didn't seem to care at all. Just kept prescribing stronger allergy meds. Do not go to this vet if you truly value your loved ones life. Read Less

I wouldn’t recommend. One of my animals problems was not fixed and my other animal just passed away because of a bigger problem a good vet would have looked further into. If you want your pet to get well, take them somewhere else. Read Less

These people sent my friend's parents dog home without fixing the problem or offering a solution without them paying up front for a diagnosis the vet couldn't give. The pup is now dead from what they suspect were blood clots in it's lungs. This dog is dead not because they COULDN'T do anything, but because they WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING without payment up front. Just sent the dog home with antiobiotics and told good luck and come back when you can pay up front. For something that they didn't even know was killing the dog! I don't know any other vet that operates like this anywhere. Some vets may ask for a deposit when they know what the problem is or think they know, and where they know the diagnosis is going to require a costly surgery to fix. But, that's not the case here. They just assumed these people couldn't afford whatever treatment was going to be required and sent them on their way. Our dogs are family, and if this was my family I would be beside myself knowing this dog could've been saved, and wasn't because of assumptions of people's financial abilities. After reading other similar bad reviews involving money I'm not shocked, but I am saddened that there are vets like this. Read Less

Do you like your pet? Do you value their life? I wouldn't bring a injured squirrel here. This place cares more about money then animals. They sent a friends dog home because they thought he didn't have the funds to put up. Pup died. Bottom line is all they care about is their bottom line. Read Less

Dr. Amy is great. Staff is great. Highly Knowledgeable. Professional. Very Reasonably Priced. I COMPLETELY Trust Dr. Amy. Our 12 year old husky had surgery yesterday to remove a tumor from her arm. The surgery was quite involved and took 2+hrs. Our dog stayed overnight and is sleeping in her own bed tonight. Read Less

Dr. Amy had to do a surgery for my Bullie, Brutus. Being that I lost a billie four years ago to a simple surgery, I was so scared and very emotional but I had no choice. Dr. Amy and staff kept me posted on his recovery, even when he was having some difficulty. She called me and stayed with him until she knew he was out of immediate danger. I don't know of any vet that would have done that for anyone. Needless to say when I picked up my baby, she looked as swollen eyed as I did. Now that is dedication. I know in my heart that if Dr. Amy was not there with Brutus, he would have expired. Bullies are a difficult bread and has issues breathing. On behalf of my family, Thank you staff and Dr. Amy. We took our dog here on the advice of a friend when we were searching for a vet as new residents. They have taken great care of our dog over the past several years and have treated her and us well. They have even suggested returning for routine care at a later time when they were offering specials or discounts (for example, on dental exams and cleaning). We will continue to take our elderly dog here as long as we live here.Read Less

There is not a staff member I don't trust and like at Old Troy Pike Vet office. They have taken care of my English Bulldos, French Bulldog, Bassett Hound and cats with outstanding care and knowledge. They are always fairly priced and understanding of military families. Read Less

Absolutely love Dr. Amy & the staff who have been there for us over the last 10 yrs! Our furry family is up to 7 & I know if we need anything Old Troy Pike Vet Clinic is there. I love how Tracy has been so great w/Gusfrom the time he was hit by a truck to comforting him after he lost his eye. Thanks to Dr. Scott who did Gus' surgery. Can't say enough about the caring staff. I have to bribe my Rottweiler to leave when we're done. My family has been going here for years and wouldn't go anywhere else!
