My previous vet Dr Konkel of Northfield had retired after many years and i was having a difficult time finding a vet who genuinely cared about animals more than my pocketbook. That is until by the g...
My previous vet Dr Konkel of Northfield had retired after many years and i was having a difficult time finding a vet who genuinely cared about animals more than my pocketbook. That is until by the grace of god, i came across Dr Jatsek and her staff at the Independence Vetetinary hospital on the corner of Hillside and Rt 21. It was clear from the moment we walked in that we finally found a place that cares about our pets in the same way we do.
My 17 yr old boxer had a stroke and was unable to walk for a week. I went to the office 95% sure my dog wasnt coming home with me and i would have to put him down. Dr Jatsek recommended before i make any rash decisions, leave the dog there and let them examine him and we can find out whats going on with him. They called me later to tell me that my dog is still full of life. Hes still trying to get up but he still couldnt walk. She did tell me i had one last option but it was up to me. With not getting my hopes up too high she said we can try a steroid treatment for a couple days and maybe theres a 5% chance he can walk again. Shes seen it happen in the past but its not likely. It was worth a shot. I would have to say 99 out of 100 vets would never of given me this advice with a 17 yr old dog. She was brutally honest . in my eyes this prolonged my dogs life at least another 2 days. They saw hope in my dog. Even though the percentage was low they gave me hope. 2. Days later a miracle from above happened. My 17 yr old boxer started walking again and got all his motor skills back. He gained 15 pounds and is doing better now than before his stroke. Dr Jatsek and her staff saved my dogs life . i never imagined id get my boy back stronger and better than ever. Dr Jatseks experience in the field and her knowledge of her trade has really made a diffetence not only in my dogs life but my life for saving him.
Have no 2nd thoughts bringing your pets here. They will care for your pets like their own. Im forever grateful to Dr Jatsek and her awesome staff. THANK YOU!!!! #THE BEST VET IN TOWN!!!!!!!!!

Had 2 kitties lazer declawed and it was a great experience for them. Dr spoke with me at length to set my mind at ease. Do not hesitate. Fees for this were reasonable too.
