I started taking my Siamese to Stow Kent this year after having some not-so-great experiences elsewhere. My cat had to have a dental cleaning and tooth removal, a wellness, and then a check-up for a lump, and each time, I was able to get an appointment quickly and was treated with respect, understanding, and empathy each time. I am so grateful for the staff here, especially Dr. Paroff. The folks who handle the phones and billing are always willing to check up on your pet for you if they are having a procedure, answer questions, and book appointments easily, and even the people who I've met in the waiting area have been kind and friendly, which definitely eases my nerves. Stow Kent is amazing. Although they have plenty of patients to keep the office full majority of the time, they still take special care in each and every one of my pets. They have seen my pets for normal visits and even saved my dogs lives a time or two. They are kind and willing to work with ANYONE for payments. They have done surgery on two of my dogs, and they tried desperately to help me save my cats life when he fell ill. I appreciate a vet that sincerely cares about your pets health before the money. I drive 50 minutes to this vet. I absolutely love it! I always feel they actually care for my dogs as much as I do, they don't try to push unnecessary meds or tests, they are a lot easier on the budget than a couple others I've tried. I recently had a tumor removed from my dog and was a wreck about it but they were all very nice, helpful, and made it a lot better for me. My only concern is I usually have to wait a long time over my appointment time because they are so busy. Read Less

I do NOT recommend! I recently moved to the area and picked this vet because I saw all of the outstanding reviews. The veterinarians are very caring people and this is a great place to go to if you need simple treatments (neutering) and vaccines (you have to pay the $50 office fee for a $25 rabies vaccine though). Unfortunately they have a poor business model that seems to value the quantity of their clients versus the quality of their service. We frequently had to wait 15-20 minutes past our appointment time to be seen. Their office is always full (5-10 patients at minimum) and they only have 3 exam rooms. I wouldn't hear from the vet until 10 pm at times or my phone calls were never returned. I had an ill cat that the solution was to do expensive tests, give an antacid, and prescription food to (which never worked for 4 months). I understand diagnosis can be hard but if we had one vet that fully listen to us we wouldn't have had to put my cat through 4 months of worthless medicine and vet visits. I ended up taking my cat elsewhere for end of life care. I didn't want to wait for 30 minutes past my appointment time in a loud, over crowded room when I had to say goodbye to my cat. I do not recommend this veterinary clinic.Read Less

My poor 4 month old puppy was at the hospital for 9 hours today with rectal prolapse. I spent a lot of time there. The office was VERY busy and hectic. Regardless, my Kenna received A+ care and the staff was beyond wonderful. We hadn't really chosen a vet for her yet. This trip absolutely sealed the deal. We won't be taking our girl ANYWHERE else. I have had almost all of my Pets here. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. I have never had a bad experience with them. They have always been very kind and compassionate. When need be they have fit me right in. Our dog Rusty has a lot of personality for being such a small dog, and they were so understanding and tried so hard to accommodate him. When my cats test came back wierd they stayed right on top of it to make sure she would be okay. And the vet kept in constant contact with me. I would recommend this vet to anyone!! They are the only vets around that I know take payments. They work hard so your pet can get the treatment they need and try to assist you with payment arrangements. I don't know anyone else that does that. Normally they want all the money up front! I trust this place with our most precious 4 legged family members. They are great!Read Less

I love the accessibility of this clinic.  I can almost always get a same day or next day appointment.  Their hours are convenient to individuals who work the average work day, unlike some other clinics.  The staff is friendly and helpful.  They also offer payment plans which is super helpful.  Portage Animal Clinic will always be the clinic that I use for my pets and I would recommend them to anyone. I just started taking my pets to the Portage Animal Clinic in brimfield and was extremly happy! All the staff members there are friendly and most importantly caring, my usually nervous dog was given lots of treats and pets, by the time we were ready to leave I actually have to drag my dog out instead of vice versa. I was also very surprise by how knowledgable everyone there was....they were very confident in what they were talking about which really made me feel at ease. They also would print out handouts for me to read when they explained something to me in the room, I loved this...it really helped explain exactly what was going on. I have had several different doctors that work there also and could not say enough good things about them all. I will definetly be going back and give this place a FIVE star! Keep up the good job! We love it there. They are so nice and take really good care of your pets. We have seen two of the veterinarians there and liked them both. My dog loves the cheese on a stick when she gets her shots, most the time she doesn't even realize she got a shot. I highly recommend them. Read Less
