I found everyone in this office to be extremely compassionate and responsive to my Mother's cats needs and to ours. My 80 year old mother had to have her cat (Buffy) of 22 years put to sleep due to kidney failure. Dr. Bidwell could not have been any more compassionate. Dr. Burk has been our family's ROCK since Dec. 22 when our precious Zoey was diagnosed with nasal cancer. She's cared for our pets since I was a little girl. Her knowledge along with her compassion has helped me tremendously through this nightmare.She took the time to check in on Zoey throughout the last few months. Fri. night was the night Zoey decided she was done and tired. Everyone kept telling me she'll let you know when she's ready and she did. We scheduled an app for Sat. am. Zoey kindly let herself in the 2nd door to greet everyone with no collar or leash...The kindness and compassion the staff showed was superb. We were taking right back to a room they had prepared for our baby..Zoey was treated with the utmost respect and compassion I will be forever be grateful. Zoey went peacefully at 9:03 on 2-19-2017. Very happy with my first experience at Western Hills Vet. I called them to see if they could work in 3 feral cats I trapped (Havahart trap) to get spayed/neutered. They allowed me to bring them in quickly and and got all 3 spayed/neutered and completely vaccinated, wormed, and flea treatment. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. Wonderful experience. There are Veterinarians and then there are Veterinarians that really love taking care of animals and are filled with love and compassion for them and their human family. We switched to Western Hills Veterinarian Clinic with Dr. Steph Burk, Dr. Caroline Hilty and staff in February of last year and we love them. They saved our daughter Stephanie's brand new puppy that got very sick just 5 days after she bought him. If it hadn't been for them he would have died. So naturally when the day came to allow our sweet Bailey that we had gotten as a little puppy as soon as she was weaned from a rescue to be free of the health issues she suffered (Severe Arthritis) this is where we once again found ourselves. These are very difficult times and having been thru this before at another Vet Clinic there is no comparison. They were so sweet to Bailey and Judy, Stephanie & Mackenzie and so compassionate. They took great care to relax Bailey and then allow her to pass. Then they comforted my family and shared in their grief at that time. Yesterday we received this card from them and it brought a lot of tears but such a warmth to our hearts as we shared this together. Thank You so much Dr. Burk, Dr. Hilty and Staff. Dr. Steph has taken care of my puppy for almost 13 years. Had to put him down 2 weeks ago because of hip problems and it was time. Many years of multiple pets and had been at a local vet for over 30 years. Due to recent changes in ownership, decided it was a time for a new and improved vet and found just what we needed at Western Hills. Kind and caring and very knowledgeable. No such thing as an upcharge for same day appointment for a sick or in pain animal. Old time vet care, but new technology, too, and time for the frantic parent. Love them and highly recommend them.
