My dog Boots has been a patient at New Albany Pet Hospital since he was a puppy and he is now almost 14. They are the most caring and helpful vet staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Tristin and all the others truly care about my dog and how he is treated. Can't say enough great things about this staff and how wonderful they have always treated my doggie! Once again Doctor Donna Violet and her team went above and beyond! On Friday night, we were entrusted with the lifetime care of a special needs dog whose owner had died three months ago. We knew from paper work that she needed several medicines, however, no medications came to us with the dog and we didnt know if she had been getting her medications since her owners death. On Saturday morning, we called the Animal Hospital of New Albany to see if they could see this dog. They said they would work us into their Saturday schedule. We were just hoping to get the meds we needed and instead Doctor Violet gave the dog a complete physical. We learned so much about her condition and what we could do to best help her live out her remaining years. Of course, we also got the necessary medications. A few weeks ago I said goodbye to my best friend of 13 years - my 1st kitty Lyric. This majestic mainecoon cat had been through EVERYTHING with me. Our childhood vet (who has cared for the pets in our family since the 90's) here in my hometown was able to care for him much of his last 2 weeks of his life - the level of care, love and compassion Dr. Violet & her entire staff showed Lyric was unbelievable. A special thanks to Dr. Violet, Dr. Kozel, our extraordinary vet tech Nina, Tristin who supplied many tissues and kind words and Jill who fit Lyric into the busy schedule day after day as he declined. Nina, Dr. Violet and the staff at New Albany Animal Hospital went above and beyond preparing many thoughtful memories of Lyric along with his ashes (a lock of his fur, a paw print..). I'm not amazed to see a negative review, but I wouldn't let that influence my decision to take my pet there for care. As with any business, there are people who will not be satisfied with your service, no matter how hard you try. They are pricey and further away from our new home but we pay and drive extra miles because of their compassionate and Kind staff. Dr. Violet has been our Vet since 1996. When we first began taking our pets to Dr. Violet we lived 2 miles away. We moved 7 years ago 22 miles away, and we would never think of taking our beloved pets to anyone except Dr. Violet. She has always given us the best advise and our pets the best care. This is the worst place you could possibly take your pet. The staff is rude and discourteous. Their prices are higher than any other vet around and they don't really care about animals, just after your money. Please do not use this facility. Read Less

The worst place ever!! Do NOT trust these people with your pets that you love. Don't trust them with a pet you only like a little bit. This place is in business just to steal money from pet loving people.Their favorite thing to do is tack on extra charges to your bill. Always an Exam visit for $30-50 and a miscellaneous nail trim cost of $12-15 or anything else that they think they can get away with. The staff is the worst ever! The receptionist could barely keep a straight face when I asked her why I was being charged an exam visit for a dear old pet that we were having euthanized. No one is going to perform an exam!! This is total crap and they know it. They are just trying to see how far they can go and just how much extra money they can get out of us. And why? because we live in New Albany... Awful, just awful!
