I have been going to the Newark clinic for quite a few years and have had nothing but wonderful service from the doctor, to the staff and receptionist. I've had both cats and dogs seen by there doctors and a couple of emergency procedures especially when one of my dog's was hit by a car a few years ago. I've never had any problems with pricing because I shopped around before deciding on the 21st Street Clinic. No one else will care for my animals unless it is med vet for some serious emergency after-hours issue. Dr. Sara is absolutely wonderful. I will not be going back to this vet. I was very disappointed yesterday. I have been using this vet for years without any problems, but yesterday was awful. My dog was very sick so we took him in as an emergency. We ended up being there for 3 hours. They did not even examine him until after almost an hour. He could barely breath. The vet was very robotic like and did not explain things well. She had no bed side manor and seemed to only care about money. She kept trying to get me to take my dog to the med vet due to she used to work there and stated he needed all kinds of tests done. In reality he had an upper respiratory infection that just needed antibiotics. Then while giving him a shot of antibiotics she told me he was too skinny. When in reality he is the perfect weight for his breed. After a few rounds of antibiotics between yesterday and today he is much improved and in fact did not need to go the med vet for a hospital stay. As I said earlier I am sadly disappointed. This vet used to care about the animals and not so much about how much money they could get from you which is not the case any more. Read Less

I came this vet under recommendation. I left my last vet due to lack of care for my babies. Dr Underwood is fantastic! She doesn't push you to do anything not necessary. She isn't like other vets. She talks to you as a human/pet parent not just a client. My baby is talked to every time I walk in and leave and while I'm there. I trust my dogs judgement a d she loves her. Also I had to have X-rays due to cancer. She went over the entire x-ray with me. She makes it comfortable and I love the techs. They are more about the care of the animals than being these (I'm better than you) professional crap types that I see I'm most vets and some techs. Read Less

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I will not be going back. I've been waiting to hear what my dog's test results are for almost 2 months now. I haven't seen any improvement from medication I was given for her, I had to switch to using home remedies. Read Less

We have two pets. One dog and one cat. During our time in Newark we put all of our trust in 21 street vet clin. We were never let down. Our cat had a very serious bladder condition that we were not aware of. We brought our cat in immediately the 21st Street Vet Clinic staff examined him quickly and communicated thoroughly what was going on and what to do. He was treated immediately.He had to stay in the clinic for a few nights.Through this time I was at work away from Newark and the staff did an amazing job explaining how our cat was doing everyday. They allowed us to visit when ever we could. During visitation the vet came in and talked with us. I have never had an animal fall I'll before and it was absolutely shocking. With the help from everyone on staff our experience became less stressful. Our cat is alive and healthy. Our family will always be grateful we had such a caring place to bring her animals for help. I would definitely recommend the Twenty First Street Vet Clinic! It amazes me how well the doctors and staff work together there. Although this review is somewhat biased because my wife, Shannon, works at the practice, I assure you that it is 100% true. Our dog Willy had a seizure a few months back, and I was nervous because I had a previous dog with a bad seizure disorder that needed to be euthanized. My wife took Willy in that day and ran some tests. The tests showed Willy has Addison€s disease. Because of the nature of the disease, he will need frequent blood work and lifelong treatment. With the help of the staff and veterinarians at the Twenty First Street Vet Clinic, Willy has been back to his normal self! Dr. Sarah and my wife communicate very well over all their medical cases to make sure clients get test results and treatment as soon as possible. Any staff that can handle my wiggly and uncooperative Jack Russell deserves an A+ review! Read Less
