I've been taking my dog to viking for 1 year now. I just received a call from Viking stating that my dog is past due for a certain shot. Viking actually gave my dog that shot two months ago and apparently did not record it. To make matters worse, my dog had an allergic reaction to that shot and they knew about it. Had I not kept good records of my dogs shots, I would have taken their advice and gave her a 2nd shot of something she is allergic to. Please be aware of the deceptive practices from this office. Last week, we had my dog neutered. Prior to the surgery, they did not give us any estimate of the charges or advise us they would run blood work. Upon picking up our dog, we discovered they ran blood tests without our consent or knowledge and charged us excessively for other items. Please beware of deceptive practices this vet office has. We took our dog in for a routine neuter and they charged us over $400 which included 2 blood tests that we did not consent to. The amt of the neuter was $185 on their paperwork. We were even charged extra for sutures. They also did not give us any estimated cost for the surgery at any time, just told us it was a routine neuter. They told us several times when we were disputing the charges, "This is how we do things". Again, they run tests on dogs that owners are not aware of or consent to. Read Less

Snowball pulled the ligament off of his rear left leg and needed surgery. He is quite the ornery pup and so he was successful at tearing off his bandages and cone while in his cage, believe it or not. Dr. Gamber and her staff were so nice in addressing my major concerns and dismay with my puppy. They are all very caring there and I would drive the 40some miles a hundred times for my puppies to be cared for by these people. They are very blessed with skills and love!!! Read Less

Yesterday, I was at Viking with two of my dogs when the storm hit. I realized that I may have left our 14 year old dog outside, who is terrified of storms. Teresa quickly voluntered to take care of the two I had there so I could run home. Sure enough, I had left my poor baby outside. Thank goodness they let me go home.Read Less

The entire staff at Viking exceeds expectations every time we go to them. They excel at everything. From getting our fosters up to date so they can go to their new homes to taking care of our new pup and setting us up with an AMAZING trainer, to dealing with an aggressive Dane and waking us through our newest foster that is facing a rough road of heart worm treatment. We take all 3 cats here and my family brings theirs here too. They were there for my sister when she had to put her kitty down. They remember that one of my senior cats needs Benadryl with his vaccines to counteract their side effects (he gets sick next day) and they treat us all, animal and human alike, just like family. They are reasonable and give the best care. I love it here and could never leave the staff and Dr. Gamber. They all truly love their careers and all who seek care from them. Read Less

I recently had to take two of my cats to Dr. Gamber and the staff at Viking. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to me. I had these two cats to another Vet. on two occasions because they were very sick and were losing weight. The diagnosis didn't seem reasonable. I sought a second opinion. Dr Gamber was very thorough in evaluation. Unfortunately my little Scruffy tested positive for FIV. Stray Boy on the other hand exhibited the same symptoms but did not test positive. My wife and I decided to put both guys down. The compassion and caring I received while going through this difficult time will never be forgotten. We wouldn't trust our babies to anyone else. The staff is top notch and Wash & Wag is super, too. Yes, there are less expensive vet services out there but I don't believe you will get the personalized attention that we enjoy at Viking. Read Less

the only place I will ever take my pets !!!! I have been to other vets and was horrified!! I have small girl dogs and they are exceptional with them, some may say they are expensive but not to me. they may cost more than a cut rate vet but are well worth every penny and for peace of mind that my pet it getting the best care!! and on the plus side they have been like family to me and my girls !!! Great if you don't have a job, the hours for actual working folk just don't work.  One day late and no weekends.Called for prescription to be filled by 1800Petmeds, laid back staff said, no problem, a week went by and no heartworm medicine, called again, staff again said fine, we will fax the information, waited another week, no medication, called a third time, now we have to come in for $$$ of tests because the heartworm is expired.Thought we'd like them, found out my wallet feels otherwise. I took all my cats and dogs to Dr. Gamber. She is the best. Then I moved to Tennessee. I miss her so much as my vet. The vets here just are not as good as her. They don't take the time, and they charge you for every little thing. Dr. Gamber would clean out my dogs ears as needed. I never had to ask. The vet here said they needed cleaned out and I told HIM how Dr. Gamber did it. I had to ASK him if he would do it, and then he sent a nurse in to take my dog out and gave my dog an ear wash that cost me lots EXTRA. Dr. Gamber always took the time with my pets and really checked them out. I miss her so much. She is also so nice and friendly. My son still goes to her, and he likes her too. She is one of a kind. I'm a proud mom of 3 dogs and a cat and am particular about keeping my babies healthy. I love the vet and all of the girls working there. I always feel like my little ones are being well cared for. Really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the clinic. You can tell that everybody that works there is an animal lover which is very important to me. Read Less
