I live an hour away and my local vet recommended Ridgeville Animal Hospital for our rescue GDS's tooth problem. The doctor was professional and gave me choices. Each choice had a pro and con and valid reasoning behind it. We chose an extraction. When I picked my girl up, she was happy and no sign of any trauma. Dr. Stokes and Dr. Ziemba have always taken excellent care of my cat. I have never been charged for anything unnecessary. In fact, Dr. Stokes has always tried to save me money by suggesting alternatives such as calling in my prescriptions to the Giant Eagle pharmacy rather than filling them himself at a much higher price. My baby Minnie a toy yorkie recently passed away. The ladies could not have been more pleasant and understanding on an early Saturday morning. They walk me thru the paperwork and even helped fill it out. I had my precious Minnie cremated and we still are grieving. Not more than several days later we received a condolence card signed by the entire staff. My wife and I shed tears and we will now be using Ridgeville as our permanent Vet. We adore Ridgeville Animal Hospital! They have done an amazing job with our two puppies- starting at 4 months until now at 7 months- and have kept us informed every step of the way. I trusted Dr. Stokes for 9 years thinking he really cared about my 9yr old pug Buddy..so when he and Dr Cross said 2 back teeth needed to be pulled,i trusted they had Buddys best interest at heart.. I trusted them. Turns out i was wrong ,he pulled 14 teeth w/o my permission. He was sent home with no antibiotics and a week and a half later, he was dead..He suffered a horrible death in my arms on Good Friday,March 25..Then to add insult to injury, they sent me an email on March 26th asking me hows he doing? and how they valued him as a patient . really?? Don't go here! Horrible bedside manner when telling me my pet had cancer. Wouldn't stay open a few min longer when my pet needed put to sleep. We were told to look elsewhere. Dr,stokes has a very pisspoor addatude & seems as tho he could careless about my boys helth & or wellbeing & is more about PADDING HIS BILL,,, i am still within a year of his last hartguard test & hes refusing 2 sell me an additional. Dr. Stokes was recommended to me about 12 years ago by my dog's veterinarian. My dog was born with a narrow lower jaw, and an overbite. This misalignment of teeth caused problems for him, which Dr. Stokes corrected surgically. Since my dog is now a senior, he needs to have blood tests before having a dental procedure. It is convenient for me that this can be done the same day as the dental work because I drive from Chardon to see Dr. Stokes.All of the test results are mailed to my dog's usual vet, as well as a report on the dental procedure. The staff does this even if I forget to ask them to.The Dr. has always answered all of my questions. The people there are unpretentious and polite.  After my last visit I received a follow-up call from Dr. Stokes the following day. It was thoughtful of Dr. and staff to send a "get well" card to my dog.This certainly isn't a mega-animal hospital, but who needs another one of those anyway? Read Less
