I used to live near East Suburban Animal Clinic and I moved to Michigan. I switched veterinary hospitals and then I realized the service I got East Suburban was so great. I took my dog here because she wasn't eating or pooping and had blood in her urine. They did a quick in out just looking at her and taking x ray saying it's probably bladder stones or infection giving us pills and sending us home. They never took blood and when we got her back from x ray she refused to walk (SHE WALKED IN!). Later that same night we called this vet because her breathing slowed and they said call animal warren. We ended up taking her to a different vet for an emergency and two different vets asked if they took blood which THIS PLACE DID NOT TAKE BLOOD! Turns out my dog had a disease that might of been able to be caught in time if they would of drawn blood but now instead although emergency vet tried all they could my baby died. Even if she lived to have bladder surgery she would of still been sick! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR PET! Read Less

My wife and I have been relying on East Suburban for the past 15+ years and I'm not sure why it took me this long to write a review. While I think everyone there knows how much we think of them, writing this may be helpful to someone searching for a caring, trustworthy, and knowledgeable veterinarian and staff to look after the health of their pets. I have held and said my 'last goodbyes' to my cat (Little Kitten) and 2 of our dogs (Daisy+Max) while there and since Dr. Boyk was present on two of those occasions I guess that is why we have kind of gravitated to her as 'our vet.' We love her and thank her for everything she has done for us but over the years we have been seen by all the vets and anyone would be a good choice. Took our dog in for her ear infection. Vet asked if we wanted to try a new medication for her in addition to what she was on or just stick with what she was on since it's working. We chose to stick with what she had. Didn't realize until I was home and looked at the receipt that the vet sent the additional medication despite our decision and charged me $60 for a product we didn't want but she clearly wanted to push on us anyway. They are really good with my pets that I have taken in for care and attention. Whether it is a check up, a sickness, an injury, or to be taken to the rainbow bridge (to be euthanized), the staff there has shown care and compassion for me and my family (pets are included in this). A vet here wrote a prescription for pain medication for my 10 lb dachshund but labeled his dosages for the size of a grown man. He ended up bleeding out and dying on my chest a couple days later. When I asked to speak with the manager they had the veterinarian call me instead. I was so distraught I just hung up on her. There was never any resolution offered. And after all this time mine and my families heart is still broken. Read Less

9 years ago, I saw someone chuck a puppy out of the window of a moving car on i-280. My husband & I found her, cleaned her up & brought her home. That evening, we took her to the Anderson's to buy food & a bed to sleep in. While there, we ran into a gal wearing scrubs who was a vet tech at ESAC. She gave me a number of suggestions on what to buy & what to avoid. She also give me the number to the clinic & suggested I call in the morning. I took my Harlequin to ESAC the next day, enrolled her in the "puppy package deal," and we've never gone anywhere else in all these years. The Techs are sweet & friendly, the Vets are kind, knowledgeable & very gentle. She's healthy, happy, & well cared for. Read Less

Thank you once again to ESAC. Have taken our pets there for almost 30. Took my dog, Amelia, in on Tuesday because of a tooth problem discovered the late day before. They were able to get us in the morning of the day we called. While there the vet discovered a tumor on her leg. Surgery scheduled quickly for Thursday morning. Tooth pulled. Tumor (non cancer) removed. Everyone treated Amelia and her worried doggie parents wonderfully. Read Less

Dr. Carstensen has cared for our German Shorthaired Pointers along with 3 litters through the years and they were all in the best hands. Our animals have been going here for years. There have been a few different vets that we have seen, but they have always treated our animals with compassion. We had a situation with a pet recently and the vet was even crying because she knew we had tried everything we could for the pet, he just was not responding. She showed us love, compassion, and generally cared about our pet and our family. I read some of the other posts and the simple truth is that everyone is human. What does aggravates me is to hear individuals fault the vets when they have not had regular pet care for their pets for years. All of a sudden, the pet is in crisis and they want a vet to fix things. Sometimes that is not possible because the situation has been neglected for some time. We have an older dog, we have taken her religiously to her yearly vet check ups, and the vet staff is right on top of her conditions and guiding us on how to treat and handle them. Our dog is mature and they have helped us understand the aging process with our animal. Because of that, I would not go anywhere else. East Suburban is one of the best places I had ever taken my Miz. She got sick and had to have a splenectomy, all the vets and staff were amazing. The most caring wonderful people. Even a few months later when we had to put Mizzy to sleep everyone was so sweet to us. Terrible. They couldn't figure out my dog has allergies. They kept blaming it on fleas which is what not with how many times I've bathed my dog and flea bombed the house. Never saw a flea on her. also couldnt identify parvo on my moms dog. Run from this place. And fast. Read Less

i took my doberman here 3 years ago when she cut her paw open and East Suburban Animal Clinic was the only people open and willing to help us. It was during a bad snow storm and i thank them for staying after a little bit and helping our doberman the next day we had level three in our area and they were understanding and told us when the level went to a level two or one we could come and get her she was fine and doing good Read Less

I am VERY dissapointed with this veterinarian. This is excactly the type of place that cares more about how much money they can get from you, than your pet's health. Please do not go here.
