Took to a new vet because they ignored my 20 calls and messages and would not call me back to fix her paws for the 4th time. Did not fix the problem just stitched her up and burned wound then a month later same problem... The new vet said the chunks left we're very noticeable and he missed the part of bone ... Her paws have been infected since I declawed her... Don't go to this vet he will make your pet suffer to make a few bucks... My poor Kitty Read Less

Rude, creepy vet, horrible experience. I went there with my 2 dogs for the very first time to get a routine de-worming because I noticed something in my dogs stool that I thought POSSIBLY could have been parasites. It looked like seed type things. I walked in to this vet and the SECOND I walked in the door he tells me it will be $45 for each dog for the exam fee plus 45 EACH for an injection de-wormer. I explained I JUST checked their website which said the exam fee is only $25 and the injection de-wormer was $25. Therefore the TOTAL I should have had to pay would be $100. I even showed him on my phone where I had pulled up the website. He tells me that is an old website and I MUST pay a total of $190 and he needs the money upfront in cash only! He then tells me he refuses to do anything -will not even take them into the exam room without full payment! I was in shock. I have taken my dogs to various vets as we have lived in 3 states and I have NEVER been treated so horribly and told I have to pay for services that have not even been performed yet upfront. I gave him the money (cash) which he stuffs in his pants pocket (yes this actually happened). He gives me a tiny piece of paper calling it a "receipt" and says nothing of what is being paid and the breakdown, and it was handwritten! Omg At no point did he smile or even address my dogs. He seems so suspicious of me-a 36 year old married woman with a full time job. Not sure if it was because I look much younger then I am or because I am a minority, or simply because I brought up the fees. It was so odd. Never have I been treated so horribly by a vet. At this point I had a bad feeling. Not only because of the the way he was treating me, but also the fact that he wanted to give my dogs a tape worm injection when he had no idea if they even had worms to begin with! There was no talk of getting a stool sample or other symptoms whatsoever. I told him, I changed my mind and would feel more comfortable taking my dogs elsewhere. At this point he pulls my money from his pocket, hands it to me crumpled up and says "I need that receipt back right now!". I gave him back the so-called receipt and left with my poor dogs. I am disgusted by this old man's behavior towards me, the lack of customer service and friendliness as well as the disgusting look of this waiting/front desk area. I would hate to see the actual exam rooms. I have read other reviews on here and whoever wrote it looks like a scene from a horror movie was spot on. All wood paneling everywhere, VERY old looking, it stunk, and had a heaviness in the air that is hard to even describe. Will never return and I am sorry I wasted my time going here. I recommend you choose elsewhere. Read Less

On Oct. 23rd Monday I took my Yellow Lab 16 months old to be spayed. By Oct.26th Thursday morning, I had my heart ripped out of my chest, I had to buried my Bess. I find Vago to be a liar, insensitive, and incapable of "doing the right thing". And his assistant Penny is not without sin also. Please don't make the mistake I made, do not TRUST this person. Disappointing, try criminal negligence in my eyes. I do not forgive and I will never FORGET. Bess your death will not be in vain. Vago will be accountable for his actions. Do not take your pet here. Had an awful experience putting down a cat. Had not been here in 15 years due to relocation but came to help my grandmother put down a cat who took a turn for the worse and was suffering. We were not able to make it in on Friday when we called in time before he closed at one so we had to do it Saturday. No appointment was made it was just walk in, along with a ton of other people just walking in. There was only the Dr and a strung out assistant. We were taken into a back room that was the most disgusting thing I have seen in a clinic. My grandma had told the assistant we were taking the cat home to bury it but failed to tell the Dr. He came in to give the cat a relaxation shot and we could say goodbye for a few minutes. There was awful music playing so loud we could barely hear each other speak. It was about 80 degrees or more and we waited and waited. The cat was releasing himself and seemed to have a seizure like spasm. The Dr finally came in and said the cat was almost gone and he would put it in the back and take care of the burial. I said no we're taking him home to bury and why isn't the cat out yet. He seemed very annoyed like it was a big deal to give the cat the actual shot to put him out and said we should have come when he wasn't so busy, like we know his schedule, they should have made an appt for us then. I was appalled at his heartless comment and he didn't care that it upset me. He took the cat, stepped in its poop that had dropped out and continued to walk with it on his shoe spreading it and my grandma was on the floor cleaning it up because she said something and he did nothing about it. Came back grabbed another shot, disappeared and then came back with cat. He never made eye contact and seemed so irritated and cold hearted. Maybe 20 years ago this was a good place but most definitely not anymore. For how disgusting that room was it should be shut down. No wonder I have been reading reviews that pets have been getting infections after surgeries. There was dirt and mold over everything and old blood in a tube used to put animals to sleep. OSHA would have a field day in there. If you are not passionate anymore about what you do then don't do it. If you don't want a busy schedule with a ton of walk-ins then make an appointment book. I brought my great dane in for a yearly well exam and fecal test. Dr Vargo and his assistant took no time to familiarize with him before touching him. I told him to please take a few minutes to let him get acquainted. They told me they didn't have time because they had 2 surgeries scheduled. Because he didn't take any time to gain trust, my dog was leery and scared. This resulted in a well exam consisting of me, holding my dog while Dr vargo quickly listened to his heart beat, had me hold his ears so he could look from a distance into them, had me put saline drops in his eyes because he didn't want to touch him. He acted very nervous and fearful of my dog. The assistant didn't have any issues with him but was still clearly nervous. I ended up curing his nails yet paying for it. They were very rushed, very standoffish and I did everything myself. They then referredme to find someone who deals with large breeds regularly. Cold, short and not helpful! Never again! Read Less

I have taken my dog there for a number of years, the past couple times felt as though he rushes through the exam to get to the next patient. This past visit, I told him I wanted a packet of Frontline applied, expecting him to pull out exactly that, instead he picks up a bottle and squirts something onto him, no measurement or anything. How can a qualified vet just apply a medication without any regards to the weight of the animal? The Iverhart Plus I purchased for heartgard is almost out of date. He doesn't give you a print out of charges, instead he tallies up the bill, gave me a bill of  $285.00 and I asked for a breakdown, which when re-added came to $235.00. I might add the exam room does not seem very clean either. Read Less

This vet is a scam!!! Pls pls pls do not take any of your loved ones here to treat. My mother's dog passed a couple weeks after taking the meds. After 3 schnauzers with our first having so many health problems including liver, arthritis, as well as being diabetic and having only one eye left from elevated eye pressure, she strongly lived till she was 15yrs. Because of her, I can claim knowledge on many issues of this breed and what they are prone to. My mother brought her 8 year old schnauzer here and Vago did not even diagnose her but gave rimadyl right away. Second time in was when blood work was done, after mother requested. Report came back with APL extremely high, triglycerides extremely high, protein high, all these numbers indicated liver problems, yet this Vago gave her meds to treat thyroids? After a a week of this meds plus rimadyl, the poor pup's liver problem escalated. My mother came home to a cold body after work. Dog has collapsed and passes. Read Less

I had one pretty sick little puppy. Tobie was so weak from vomiting and diarrhea he could't even stand up or lift his head. one of my co-workers referred me to Dr. Richard Vago at the Snow-Ridge Veterinary Hospital for immediate attention and care, so I made the call. When Doc heard of the state that Tobie was in, he instantly encouraged me to come in as soon a posible. When I arrived at his hospital, Doc was with another patient, but dropped everything to see my little buddie. After a pretty thorough examination, he suggested I leave Tobie for lab work and emergency care, since he was so terribly dehydrated and depressed. After about 3 hours Doc called me at work to give me an up-date as to Tobie's progress. He informed me that fluds were given and a glucose lavage was administered, he also mentioned that the vomiting had stopped and now that he was attending to the diarrhea. Doc called me again at home that evening and gave me another up-date, which was even more encouraging. Tobie stayed for 3 days and when I picked him up, I swear Doc had given me a ""ringer"" I couildn't believe how frisky and active Tobie was and as I gave him a small sample of food, he woofed it down and looked for more. The lab work indicated that he had picked up a virus of some sort and it showed low glucose and protein, due to the vomiting and lack of nutrition. After Tobie came home Doc called several times, just to see how things were going. You could tell in Dr. Vago's demeanor that he really loves animals and takes great pride in caring for them. I certainly am glad to have met Doc and will continue to sing his praises. Thanks for saving my little guy Dr. Vago I will never forget how well you treated the both of us. DANNY-J Read Less

I just thought that I would take a few moments to express how grateful I am to have met Dr. Richard Vago at the Snow-Ridge Veterinary Hopspital. I had some serious problemswith my German Shepherd, "Mandy", she had jumped over a barbed wire fence and toremost of her lower groin and flank down to the muscle, she was bleeding profusely and was obviously in pain. I checked with our neighbor and he said call Dr. Vago or just go there, he's open now. I arrived in less than 10 minutes, rushed Mandy in the door without an appointment and Dr. Richard dropped everything and helped me get her into one of the treatment rooms. He observed how bad she was ripped by the barbed wire and immediately gave her a pain shot and some slight sedation. He didn't even know me from Adam and yet rushed to help my beloved Mandy. She started to calm down alittle and once he realized how severe she was torn up, that's when he mentioned about stitches and hospitalization. To make a long story short, Mandy came home the next morning and I was informed as to her after-care and set up the next appointment. She actually looked pretty descent, considering what had transpired, and licked my face andwalked slowly to the door, she then turned and looked at Dr. Vago, as if to say "thank you" then jumped in the van and we went home. I don't know many Vets that would just treat a poor animal, without first asking you to leave your wallet at the desk, nor any Vets that would be more concerned about an animal suffering than the "almighty buck" but thank god I found one last Monday morning. Thank you Dr. Vago from the bottom of my heart..............best wishes Sal-G Read Less

I just recently got a chance to meet Dr. Vago at the Snow Ridge Vet Hospital. I was referred by my brother, who had taken his sick kitty to Dr. Vago, where a diaphramatic hernia was diagnosed and repaired. My dilema was that my older cat had started to go into seisures and I was debating whether it was more humane to put her down or atleast see if there was any thing that could be done to help her condition. Dr. Vago conducted an exhaustive exam and work-up, drew blood and took x-rays only to find that there was a brain tumor in one of the hemipheres of the cranail vault. Needless to say, now knowing, the final diagnosis, I asked Dr. Vago, what would he do if my little Jodie were his pet. He calmly said, if Jodie were mine, I would take her home with slight sedation to control the seisures and just spend one more day ""just loving her spirit"" tomorrow we can intervene, after you prepare yourself. I want to thank this Doctor for all he has done and especially for giving me one last day with my beloved Jodie, Dr. Vago allowed me to make peace with my pet and to be assured that she would be in a better place after all was said and done. Thank you Dr. Vago for all that you have done on behalf of my best friend Jodie. I will cherish your friendship forever. sincerely, Megen F. Read Less

DONT GO TO HIM! I took my female bunny there to be spayed. He said to withdrawl food, water, and gave NO PAIN MEDS. I now talked with an Exotic Vetrinarian and she said You are NOT supposed to withdrawl food, and you GIVE THEM PAIN MEDS. Well I took her January 18th 2010 to get her spayed, and I found her dead January 20th 2010. I tried to get a hold of him, because I was getting concerned about her, But OF COURSE he was at a seminar, and could care less. I called them and told them that she died, because she had an appointment to get her stitches out. ( Which your supposed to use disolving stitches to prevent infection!) And they were very unsympathetic, didn't even send a sympathy card, Which my other Vet did That I send my dogs too! If you want to get your bunny fixed i reccommend Cross Roads in Strongsville. THIS GUY DOESNT KNOW WHAT HES DOING. He put me through hell because of his carelessness with my baby girl. DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. TRUST ME NO ONE DESERVES TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH! (4) times I offered you and opportunity to do the right thing (4) times and you just shunned me repeatedly. Do the world a favor and retire before you kill someone else pet, same goes for you also Penny. Shame on the both of you people. Read Less

I HAD JUST LOST MY JOB TO "DOWN-SIZING" AND HAD LITTLE TO NO FUNDS FOR HIS TREATMENT. I HAD HEARD OF DR. VAGO FROM A FRIEND, SO I CALLED TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT AND ALSO EXPLAINED MY DILEMNA ABOUT FUNDS. DR. VAGO REQUESTED THAT I ATLEAST COME IN FOR AN EVALUTION AND A PHYSICAL FOR MORRIS. WHEN WE ARRIVED DR. VAGO GAVE MORRIS A THOROUGH EXAMINATION AND SAID HE SEEMED SICK ENOUGH TO HOSPITALIZE FOR AFEW DAYS. I AGREED AND EACH DAY CALLED FOR MORRIS'S PROGRESS. HE SEEMED BETTER EACH DAY AND ON THE FOURTH DAY CAME HOME. DR. VAGO FELT THAT HE PICKED UP A SERIOUS INTESTINAL VIRUS AND TREATED HIM ACCORDINGLY. DR. VAGO ONLY CHARGED ME A BOARDING RATE ON MY MORRIS'S HOSPITALIZATION AND HALF PRICE ON ALL HIS MEDS AND TREATMENT. I CAN'T THANK DR.
